Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was the beautiful view of the lake from the deck. The lake was clean and the long dock allowed us to enjoy the sun all day long. This cottage was immaculate inside and out, yet very comfortable for a family of 6 adults. My husband and 2 boys had the time of their lives sailing our Hobie Cat on the lake. The wind was perfect and we had easy access to the public boat launch. It was great to be able to keep the boat right on the beach in front of the cottage all week too. We enjoyed cooking out and spending time by the fire pit at night. Traverse City was an easy ride and we took advantage of some of the best restaurants in the area, not to mention the fun shopping for the girls! We especially liked the North Pike Brewery...great food and good craft beer. A day trip to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and Glen Arbor was well worth it.....what an adventure climbing the dunes. Good golf courses nearby and a trip to Interlochen Institute, just 10 minutes away rounded out the trip. While at the cottage we could relax and watch the activity on the lake, yet we could jump in the car for a quick trip to Traverse City or Interlochen. It was the perfect vacation. Thank you Jeana and Terry ....you made it so easy for us to have a great vacation...you are wonderful hosts!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This cottage was awesome! We really enjoyed it for the following reasons: The entire property radiated a lot of care and attention to detail. It felt like a home away from home. The beds were great, not too firm or soft, making it very comfortable for our family of five. The entire cottage was very clean! Having a washer and dryer on sight was so much appreciated. Also, we really appreciated the internet connection and the AC. The dock area was wonderful and allowed us to rent a pontoon and jet skis. Our time relaxing by the fire pit and enjoying the landscaping was one of the highlights of our trip. The entire backside of the cottage was glass sliding doors, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and sun setting. The owners too were absolutely delightful to work with. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who values comfort, coziness, and cleanliness. We'd love to return next summer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful stay here and the location was ideal. It was conveniently located for our day trips to the Cherry Festival, Lake Michigan, tubing the Platte River, Pierce Stocking Scenic Route, Leland (fish town), etc. We also rented a pontoon for the week and found plenty of time for fishing and floating! Loved the islands on Long Lake and the Loons. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. The house was very clean and bright. The beds were comfortable and we were thankful for the central air because it was such a hot week. Thanks for a great week; so glad we found you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We were the first group to stay at this adorable cottage and it was obvious that the owners had gone to great lengths to make this a comfortable home away from home! The whole cottage was very clean, well equiped. and beautifully furnished. We had everything we needed! The deck had plenty of seating and the views were very special. The lake itself is beautiful and clean--great for swimming and fishing! And with so much to do in the area, one week was hardly enough time! We would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful spot!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: We have lived in Traverse City since moving here from Midland in 1992. We raised our two children here and they have since attended the U of M in Ann Arbor. We found we had more time to devote to enjoying this beautiful area, and purchased this cottage in June 2012. Long Lake is our favorite lake in the region as it is big enough to provide lots of variety, but small enough to enjoy swimming and boating without the hectic crowds. We enjoy and feel fortunate to have a 'city home' in TC and now a vacation cottage to share with others.
Why the Owner Chose Traverse City:
We did search for quite a while before selecting this cottage when it came on the market. The most impressive features include the fantastic views, the cottage was well maintained, it has a casual 'up north feel' to it, and it provides a very relaxing space for our family and guests.
