Our guest suite is located on beautiful Puget Sound and is a part of our home. We live in a quaint little beachfront community called Edmonds. It is 25 minutes from downtown Seattle. A short 3 minute walk allows you to walk on the beach or catch a ferry ride across Puget Sound and maybe spot an Orca whale. That same 3 minute walk also gets you to the bus or train terminal for travel through out the region.
If you like to Scuba Dive there is an Underwater Dive park 300 yards from your door step,. We have many wonderful restaurants, shops, a movie theater just a few minutes away.
Edmonds is also the home to Travel Guru, Rick Steves.
Our guest suite was built in 2006 and is approximately 500 sq. ft.. It has a comfortable 'beachy' feel with a balcony overlooking Puget Sound and the Ferry coming and going. Cruise ships sail by daily during the cruise season. The sunsets are spectacular in the summer along with the extensive flower garden that was featured in the Edmonds Garden Tour during July. Our home was also featured in the Chef's Tour of Dream Kitchens.
In the summertime, our garden is wonderful to stroll through, sit out front with a cold drink and watch the Ferries and Cruise Ships go by before watching the sun go down with beautiful sunsets. Very Romantic! You can also enjoy a wonderful view from the privacy of your own deck.
There is a mini kitchen equipped with refrigerator, Induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot, dishes and silverware. Complimentary water, coffee, tea and apple cider.
Our home also has an elevator for easy access of luggage. Also, for anyone who has trouble climbing stairs.
From May thru September, Edmonds also has a wonderful outdoor Saturday market with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and many other vendors

I'm FINALLY writing a review for this place! My husband and I spent the first two nights of our honeymoon here and we could not be happier with it. The owners were very friendly and the guest suite was immaculate. I especially loved the mini snack bar in the kitchen and the porch where we drank our coffee in the morning:)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We enjoyed having Shane and Anita here for the first 2 days of their honeymoon. They were wonderful guests to have. Very friendly and clean. Hope to see them again, maybe for their anniversary.

Brandon and his family were great guests. Quiet, clean and very nice. They had 2 kids and we hardly knew they were here. The kids even made their bunkbeds, I was very shocked. We would love to have the family back anytime. ToniDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

I didn't think it was possible to get a vacation rental that was not only right on the waterfront in Edmonds (mere blocks from everything), but to also be welcomed and hosted by such lovely folks who really go out of their way to ensure a perfect room and a private, quiet environment for their guests to enjoy. Even my kids were treated like royalty, sleeping in a very special kid-centric bunk room all to themselves! The room feels clean and new and is perfectly decorated with thoughtful details that make all the difference. Thank you for such a great relaxing vacation--we will definitely be coming to stay again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I had surgery in Seattle and stayed at the Beach Cottage with my husband for a week to recover and go for my post op before going home (5-6 hours away from Seattle). Al and Toni were so welcoming and accomodating. They made us feel right at home, but also respected our privacy. The setting was wonderful. We were able to watch the ferries come and go, and the location was close to everything we needed. The cottage was delightful and cheery. I can't wait to return in the Summer when we can explore Edmonds and enjoy the Beach Cottage again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We enjoyed having Linda and Bob as our guests very much. They were very quiet and tidy. We enjoyed chatting with them and hope that they can return again when Linda isn´t having surgery and can get out and enjoy the sights more. toni

I typically search for quaint, unique accommodations and the beach house visit with Toni & Al was perfect. A quick getaway for a family wedding ended up to be a super terrific weekend. Toni & Al have thought of everything and are very gracious hosts. You enter through their 6000 square foot home, but the suite is very private on one end. Everything is so well built & appointed, you hardly hear a car. The train rolls through next to the beach, but really just reminded me that I wasn't in rural America. Easy walk to town center for food & wine or latte's. We look forward to crossing paths another time.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and Edmonds is so charming! All amenities were provided and Al was a great host. We understand we are the first of any Rick Steves customers to use this guest suite and we will pass the word on to Rick & co. that its a perfect spot to stay. Thanks Al, for all your hospitality!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I very much enjoyed having Marianne and Rich stay in our guest suite. I think they liked the closeness to Rick Steves and to downtown Edmonds. I hardly knew they were in the guest suite and their stay was very short. With their daughter living close by I am sure they will return for another visit. I would recommend them to anyone.

We stayed at Toni & Al's wonderful Edmonds guest suite over the course of four nights & thoroughly enjoyed every moment! Edmonds was a wonderful change of pace, having stayed in central Seattle several times prior. Located across the street from the beach, a couple of blocks from downtown Edmonds, a half an hour from city center, and not much more to outlying areas such as Snohomish, we were easily able to navigate and cover significantly more ground than ever before in our antique hunting expeditions. At the end of the day, when we had shopped till ready to drop, we were able to return to a warm welcome at Toni & Al's, retire to our suite, and relax in the comfort of a true home away from home. Prior to our trip, upon our arrival, & throughout our stay, Toni & Al provided us a plethora of information regarding our interests, travel plans, & both local and outlying destinations. While the online pictures were enticing, they really don't do the suite justice. Impeccably clean, cozy, and inclusive of every ammenity one could want or need, our suite provided us a vacation respite from our vacation! With the exception of the wet weather, (but hey, it IS Seattle), can't think of one thing we would have changed during our stay! It's hard to beat having fresh cracked crab delivered to your door ... "just because!" Truly, one of the best rental experiences we have had! traveling through & around Seattle to sightsee & antique shop without feeling like we wereRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Beautiful home, charming hosts, quiet and comfortable. Walking distance to anything you need. The yard and gardens were especially beautiful and we enjoyed the different types of flowers. The elevator access was especially helpful for my friend Janet who has trouble with stairs. I will definatly be returning with my family soon. The rates are very affordable for the accomodations provided.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had an absolutely delightful time staying at Al and Toni Young's apartment last week. It was beautifully appointed with a lovely view of the water. The Young's were so hospitable during our stay and offered us wonderful suggestions regarding where to dine and what to see while staying in Edmonds. We would not hesitate to return to their beautiful apartment for another memorable stay. It was just outstanding!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: 2012 .Toni and I are retired and love to spend time caring for our house and entertaining. I am an avid golfer while Toni loves to work in our beautiful flower garden. We have six grandchildren and spend lots of time with them. We also love to go out crabbing in Puget Sound and then eating them of course. We travel several times a year and love to cruise. We love to dine in our town and then take in a movie at the restored Edmonds movie theater. This theater is a classic that was built in the 20's and serves the best popcorn you will ever find.
