Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: We live in the eastern part of North Carolina with roots in the North Carolina hills. With each trip to the high country in search of our own vacation home over the last year, our grandson ( 5 years old) became quite obsessed spending time outdoors going on 'bear hunts'. We knew when we found a home we would need acreage for his bear explorations and that the home would become our on dedication to these fascinating creatures.
Why the Owner Chose Valle Crucis:
We spent many summers as a family in the mountains. Our daughter later attended and graduated from ASU, and after having a family of her own we continued to vacation in the High Country. We eventually decided we wanted to own our own family retreat and decided that Valle Crucis was the ideal spot.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
When we found this home we knew we could make this a perfect family vacation home. Though the creek at the bottom of the property had become somewhat overgrown, we, along with some help, cleared out the brush so that we could enjoy the creek and later had a nature path created to lead down to the water. We then decided that adding a fire pit would gather those staying in the home together and would create memorable mountain experiences . We love that we are so close to the Mast General store & the Valle Crucis park for the wonderful playground and the great live music in the summertime & we especially love the close proximity to the Candy Barrel! A truly beautiful community!
