We stayed here the first two weeks of August. I should mention that our family has been staying in the Berkshires for the past five years or so, mostly in the summer but during other seasons as well. Of all the homes we've stayed at, this may be our favorite. The location is great, not far from the Lee exit off of Rt. 90 and Lee Center, and yet it is in a quiet, wooded neighborhood close to nature (Goose Pond, October Mountain and the Appalachian Trail), but also not far from Great Barrington and Berkshire cultural attractions (Jacob's Pillow, Tanglewood, The Mount). The house is very well maintained and comfortable. Although the indoor dining room is spacious, we ate most of our meals on the screened in porch on the deck, where we also played board games. The gas grill was brand new and easy to use. Best of all, there is a heated pool with a diving board. Our daughters really loved that! There is a single kayak (also new) which I was able to transport to Goose Pond in our Subaru Outback. One day when my wife and daughters went off on another excursion with our car and hadn't yet returned, I wheeled the kayak back with the trolley that the owners provided (although it is a very big uphill!). There is a large garage where we stored our bikes. The beds and pillows on the second floor are extremely comfortable. The rooms have air conditioners, though we didn't need to use them, as the nights were comfortable. There are two full bathrooms upstairs, plus a half bath downstairs. The house has everything you need, in terms of basic amenities and supplies. They even provided bottled water, though the well water tasted just fine. There really weren't any cons to speak of. The owners told us up front that there was no TV or cable/satellite, just a DVD player, and since we don't really watch TV on vacation this was not an issue for us (fortunately we recorded the Olympic track events to watch when we got home). Also, while there is no bundled internet service, the "mi fi" internet connection that they provide worked fine. The property manager came by to clean the pool and he is extremely nice. Our dealings with the owners were extremely pleasant. Much as I hate to let the secret out, I strongly recommend staying here if you’re looking for comfort and relaxation in one of the nicest areas of the Berkshires. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We are so glad that Kevin and his family had a great experience in our home and in the Berkshires! That has been our goal to have a comfortable place for families to relax in and enjoy the surroundings!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of the best things is to sit with a cup of coffee on the porch and just take in the sounds of nature. It is such a peaceful retreat.
