Our home is on one of the 6 lakes in Emerald Lakes, Lower Deer Lake is the only natural lake in the community that was completely built by beavers and not man-made. On the far end of the lake is the beaver dam and to the left of our property are 2 intact beaver huts. Sometimes at dusk you may get a glimpse of a mom and her pup out for an evening swim. Even though our home is in a resort community, we are very secluded. We have 2 acres of land and we are the only home on the east side of the lake. You feel like you are away from it all, yet everything you need or want to do is still so close. There are deer, turkey, rabbits, foxes, beavers, ducks, geese and plenty of birds to keep you company. If you love nature, you'll love our home.

My friends and I recently had a wonderful stay at this "Deer Haven" in Emerald Lakes. The house was beautiful and so clean. You can tell that a lot of care has gone into this home, down to all of the finishing touches. We had 9 adults and 1 toddler and there was plenty of space. There is a lot to do in the home and the surrounding area. The view of the lake was beautiful too, can't wait to go back during the summer months! Joe was great to work with, very professional. Thanks Joe!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

After seeing the photos online when making our vacation plans, we were very pleased with the home. The photos do not do justice to the impressive great-room and spectacular views. The house was very clean and well appointed. Our families enjoyed the activities in the game room as well as the outdoors with the swing and fire pit on the deck. It was easy to relax and stay cozy with the fireplaces throughout. Joe was great to work with and very quick to respond as we were planning and while on-site. We visited for a long weekend in the winter and are looking to return to the home during the Fall.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house was awesome!! Loved the arcade games. Big rooms!! Super clean!!! I've never rented a house that was so stocked!! If you forgot to bring something it's most likely stored where you'd keep it at home. Cozy beds!!! Loved it!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This trip to the Poconos with my family and friend was all that we expected and more due to this great house and location. The house was roomy and def well kept. The owner was very attentive and caring making sure our stay was a good experience. I will def recommend this house for family stay or just a weekend getaway with some friends. I will be renting again for future stay and putting the great yard and lake to use. Thank you Joe for opening your house for me and my friends.Did you find this review helpful? Our stay was so nice and relaxing, we were lucky to get snow for the kids to sled in, we also got to see deer right off the deck. This home is very nice and inviting, everything was well kept, and we loved how it was decorated. The game room kept the kids, as well as the men, occupied. We also used the pool which was a nice break for the kids. Everything was as described, and working with Joe was very nice. We would recommend this to family and friends. Stores and restaurants were within close driving distance. When we think of the Poconos, this is exactly the kind of place we try to find. We hope to stay sometime again in the near future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

My wife wanted to get away for her birthday with some friends, a couples weekend with good food and great friends. Emerald Lake provided a beautiful setting with great amenities fora relaxing weekend and I highly recommend this rental. The deck was a great place to sit around and watch the sun set with a few drinks and having a fully functioning kitchen really made all the difference in a relaxed weekend that didn't require much planning. Thanks for the great get away opportunity!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/3

For all you log cabin lovers out there, this is the best cabin I have stayed in in a very long time. Its a beautiful cabin and the decor sets the mood for a very relaxing peaceful time. We absolutely loved every piece of charm you guys put into this cabin. It had everything we needed and then some and was very clean. We all enjoyed playing the games in the downstairs and having the pond out back was perfect for our fishing needs. The first day there, the boys put on their bathing suits as soon as we arrived and jumped right in! Then they went out on their blow up boats and played around . We did some driving around throughout the day/nite and came across a fair that had the tractor races going and boy did the kids get a kick outta that! Their used to seeing the drag racing / monster trucks from our town, but never seen tractor races before..lots of laughs and good times.. I think the highlight of the trip was the last nite, we were out doing some midnite fishing outback and they caught 2 huge eels ! Needless to say, thank god they caught them at the end of the trip, lol,, I dont think they would have swam if they were caught in the beginning..lol.. Joe, your place is beautiful. I enjoyed speaking with you and we hope to rent this place again in the winter.. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Thanks again for everything and we look forward to speaking to you again in the future! Take Care Pam and FamilyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We had an amazing time at this cabin! If you're a log cabin lover, you will definitely feel right at home here. It's very clean and peaceful! The lake out back was perfect for my boys to swim and fish. We caught lots of sunnies, but the highlight of their trip was the midnite fishing we did the last nite and they caught 2 huge eels! I never seen anything like that before..lol.. I would highly recommend this cabin to everyone and hopefully we will be back up in the winter for some skiing! The owner is a pleasure to work and talk with. Thanks again Joe, Your place is one of the nicest log cabins I have ever been in. Take Care, Pam and FamilyDid you find this review helpful? This place was great family fun. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the arcade games in the lower level. I caught a bass in the lake among other fish. The gazebo was a great place to start our day. We also took full advantage of the surrounding area going horseback riding, outlet shopping, to the casino, and the shooting range which has every kind of gun you've always wanted to try. Each place was no more that 15 minutes away. Joe the owner was accomodating and really cares that his guests enjoy their stay. I would recommend this place, and look forward visiting again in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

So our car broke down on the way to Emerald Lakes. We had to take a major detour and leave our car at a repair shop and hop in a rental car just so we wouldn't lose a night of our vacation. It was an unbelievably stressful situation which threatened to ruin our moods for the entire weekend. Then we finally arrived at Deer Haven, and we instantly forgot about all of the awful luck we had that day. This house is ridiculous. There was ample room for ten big dudes, and the backyard was perfect for our ultra-competitive badminton tournaments (had to bring our own set). It was such a nice weekend that we didn't get a chance to take advantage of the sweet, old-school arcade game or pinball machine in the game room, but they're definitely awesome. The view of the pond is a great way to start your day, and the gazebo overlooking the pond is a wonderful site to start happy hour. As an added bonus, there's a brew house just six miles from the house! Joe was great to deal with, and responded to any questions in a timely manner. Will definitely return to this awesome rental!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3
