Relax, Just do it... de-stress at a GREAT location, with Hacienda Outside Kitchen, plus your own kitchen inside.
The house is large and can be closed off to accommodate smaller groups (small groups Mon - Thurs) Large groups for weekends, Groups: minimum 10 Ask.)
Called the Decks House because it has 5 decked areas. Smalledst is 12 x 12 area. Large back yard overlooking the snack bar area, outside kitchen, and Jacuzzi Deck.
So besides getting 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths, and 2 half baths, you also have 2 full kitchens, a nook kitchen, two large living rooms, and 3 sets of washer/dryers. Plus roof deck 25 x 25 with privacy fence; a 12 x 12 upstairs deck to Studio Bedroom, 20 x 25 deck, 40 x 25 deck with hammock & outside tv). The gazebo is designated as the Smoker's Circle. Pets are guests in one of the dwellings.

We are catering to Large Groups: bachelorette, wedding, reunion, graduation, weddings, girl scouts, etc.
However, we accept guests for 2, or 4 when we section off portions of the Decks House. Best time for smaller groups, retirees, travelers, on business: Monday through Thursday.

The hot tub Jacuzzi
can be 'cool' or 'hot' depending on season or preferences. ($150 one time maintenance fee applies). A surprize Outside Shower, is located next to
the Jacuzzi, which has a privacy screen for more relaxation. We are 3 minutes to MUSC Harper wellness center, where you can spend the day (steam, sauna, pools, yoga, zumba classes, track, rachet ball, etc. ) for $15 a day for adults. We are also 3 minutes from James Island County Park with 'lazy river', splash mountain, etc. and of course the Ocean is 6 miles away.

I am a repeat guest at the Decks House, maybe 5 times over the past years. I apologize for never having submitted a review before. I have seen this property evolve, getting bigger and more colorful each year. I love the place and the hospitality. It is decorated tastefully and always very clean. I love golfing and find this location an easy access to all areas such a Kiawah. When I travel I have membership access to “expensive” resorts in Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Daytona, etc., but when in the Charleston Area, I stay at the Decks House because it is a quiet neighborhood, and has a family feel to the place. It has a roof deck, outside kitchen, ample decks and lots of quiet places for me to read and meditate. A unique place with character, and older, (maybe 50 years) but I also come to Charleston because it is historic.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The pros: Conveniently located to downtown, Folly Beach and the airport. Plenty of outdoor space for a large group to hang-out. The cons: Really only sleeps 10-11 adults. The other beds are small cots good for only very young kids. The property is old and in need of repairs and updating. Owner has many little signs throughout with do's and don'ts.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for your review. We have 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, two twin beds in separate bedrooms. We also have a futon, pull out twin bed and a cot. Available also are two large Crate&Barrel Mahogany goose down loungers. Welcome to Historic Charleston, we get many tourists because they like "old." We are 50yrs young but are trying to keep the old ceramic tile, hardwood floors, real brick exterior, etc. So if you like eclectic, different, not "brand new" blatant white, resort redundancy, then keep on looking. This is a funky, place. & since we try to leave you alone we have notes, so we don't have to be there, but you can just enjoy the house. Thanks for your input, I am assuring we don't have too many notes. Thank you again for taking the time to submit a review that on second look does have good "pros" because we are a great location and can fit a number of people. And, we do have wonderful outside space not found elsewhere: specifically the outside Kitchen, Roof Deck, and Jacuzzi at Owner's Discretion.

Why the Owner Chose Charleston:
Only property on the island with outside kitchen, ample outside area, peaceful neighborhood environment (not a overpriced resort nor a cheap motel), 25 x 25 Roof Deck. Jacuzzi available at owner's discretion and $150 one time maintenance fee. Swimming pools 3 minutes away at James Island Park 'splash zone' or at MUSC wellness center.

We are not fancy, just different. A simple house, in a great location, with good features. If you like eclectic, then come here. If you want 'all upscale modern' go somewhere else. If you are 'happy go lucky' come here, if you are 'picky,' need a maid, and a 'prima dona' then go somewhere else.
Our mott is: 'Negative, picky people do not have a voice at the Decks house. And, what happens at the Decks House, stays at the Decks House.'
We cater to Family and Friends. Come and discover Charleston.Not a loud, party place, for drunken rivelry. Great for retirees, family reunion, friends gatherings, girls night out, bachlorette party, golfers outing, etc. Peaceful neighborhood. Walk to sit down restaurants, cinemas, groceries, dock tidal river park, etc.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A simple, but 'eclectic' house, always evolving, shady trees, peaceful neighborhood, hammock deck, quie escape areas, vintage ceramic tiled counters, etc. Not high end resort style pricing, nor 'cheap, motel 6 pricing.' A home-type environment with outside grilling in a peaceful neighborhood. Walk down to Dock Park and fish or crab, let kids ride swings. Walk to restaurants and grocerery store, cinimas, etc. Stay where the locals live.' Great location and unique features. Quiet after 11 p.m. 'noise ordinances' apply, Respect our neighborhood.
