Beautiful Country Estate
Beautiful Country Estate
We stayed at this property for 10 nights while recovering from a surgery. We were required to stay in the area after surgery, were from out-of-state and our choices were hotel, apartment, rental house, or extended stay inn. THIS property was absolutely the best and an outstanding choice for surgery recovery: private, quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. Recovery was immensely enhanced because of all four of these. We can highly recommend it for recovery, as well as for a romantic getaway or family vacation. We would stay at this property again, and again.

We stayed at this rental for a family vacation. The house was very clean and already had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We have a 8 year old Son and he loved the location with it being set back in the woods and the horses and wildlife. It was very quite and peaceful. The owners were very friendly and were happy to help us with any questions we had. It was easy access to the interstate.

This was the perfect space for my family. The owners were so kind to let us host a crawfish boil and invite over several people one evening. Everyone agreed the property is beautiful and this guest house is a gem. The open floor plan is perfect for entertaining, and the screened in porch with a ceiling fan was a great hang out area in the evenings. We highly recommend staying here!

Comfortable & Convenient
Comfortable & Convenient
The Guest House was immaculate, ideally furnished and great location for the purpose of our trip visiting friends and relatives nearby. We have stayed and many VRBO rentals throughout the country and definitely plan on returning. One of the owners met us upon arrival with a vase of fresh picked gardenias and was always available to answer questions. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Wish I was able to spend more time with you, you seemed like a fun group. I hope you will stay with me again one day.

Year Purchased: 1997
About the owner: My husband and I have live in the main house on the property since 1994. The guest house was built later. We will become empty nesters this year and have decided to rent out our guest house for short term stays. I grew up in New Orleans and my husband in Lake Charles, LA. My son is a sophomore at Auburn University, majoring in Aerospce Engineering and my daughter will study photography and swim this year for Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. My husband practices Internal Medicine here in Hammond and I am a retired CPA and more more recently, a retired home school mom.
Why the Owner Chose Hammond:
This property located in a peaceful setting with camelias blooming from late September through late April, followed by the azeleas. It would be an excellent place to stay while waiting for an Act of Sale to go through, on your way to an LSU Tiger football game, or as a temporary professor at SLU.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
This unit has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. It is also good for handicap guests with bars in the bathroom and wide doorways. The in-house laundry is also very convenient. If you have a pet, it may also be possible for us to accomodate them for an extra charge. The pantry will be stocked upon your arrival with you favorites for cost plus 10%.
