  This country home was spotlessly wonderful, and the owner could not have been more helpful or sweet. We had a marvelous time visiting the local wineries, tasting some of the best wines ever, mostly for free. I will definitely rent this home again, in fact, I can't wait.

  The Perry Creek Retreat offers cozy accommodations nestled amidst a beautiful California landscape. If you haven’t visited the Somerset/Fair Play area of California yet, I highly recommend it. The Perry Creek Retreat is a great place to stay while exploring this beautiful part of California. It sits on a sizable acreage of land that you have sole access to. The property is mostly forested with tall statuesque trees and a small creek. You don’t have to worry about running into day hikers because this is private property that is in essence yours while you stay at the Perry Creek Retreat. The house is immaculately clean with four bedrooms and a large family room. The master bedroom has the best view with its huge bay window. It also has outside access to the small above ground pool that overlooks the forested property in the back. This is a definite plus. The kitchen has every amenity and is fully stocked with dishes and cookware. There is even a BBQ grill on the covered patio in the back. This place has a homey feel that you just can’t find in other rentals. The price is affordable and the owners are accommodating of individual needs. It is practically right next door to the local wineries and just a couple of miles away from some great hiking trails. I definitely recommend the Perry Creek Retreat to families looking for a nice vacation with all the comforts of home.

  We had a girlfriend week-end, complete with old friends and new from So Ca and No Ca. meetiing in this wonderful home on 5 acres. In the morning we watched a family of deer through the large windows in the master bedroom. We had planned on making meals in the large well stocked kitchen, but after mornings rock climbing, followed by visits to the wineries, the local restaurants were so inviting, we felt like we were partying with old friends and they happened to be wonderful chefs. Back at the house, the large wood burning stove warmed us while we played games found in the bookcase. We'll be back!

  We stayed at the Perry Creek Retreat for 4 days and it was a very nice and relaxing visit. We loved the well-equiped kitchen as we ate in the majority of the time. The house had plenty of room and was very comfortable. My husband loved the carport for the car and one for the small trailer we were pulling. We would definitely not hesitate to stay again ourselves and highly recommend it to anyone that wants a nice treat in the wine country.

  My son married a wonderful woman in Fair Play, so many members of our family needed a place to stay for their wedding weekend. Perry Creek Retreat was fantastic. The house was very comfortable for seven people. It was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was well-stocked with condiments and necessities such as paper towels, plastic wrap, foil, etc. Plenty of pots and pans, dishes and glasses. Great place to entertain. Easy access in and out of Fair Play. Not much in the way of restaurants in Fair Play, but certainly lots of decent restaurants in Placerville. Lots of nearby wineries to visit. Whenever I contacted the owner prior to my visit or the property manager when I got there, they were very quick to respond.

  We've enjoyed our stay here very much. The house is clean, spacious and quite comfortable! Also, it is within a few minutes drive from the many local wineries. Some very good restaurants nearby too. We personally love the "Goldmine Grill." Would recommend it to friends.

  We've stayed at the house 2 times and have thoroughly enjoyed the house and it's central location to all the wineries in the area. We make a annual trip to the wineries and will plan on staying here when we come. We would recommend a stay to anyone planning on visiting this area.

  We had a great time at this property. It was homey and also away from it all. It was equiped with everything we needed. There is also so much to do in the area. We loved visiting the alpacas, wine tasting, hiking, and swimming in the river. We hope to visit again soon!

  Stayed at The Perry Creek Retreat in August with a group of six nurses. This was my second stay at the Retreat. It was a wonderful base from which to explore all the wonderful wineries of Fair Play. I highly recommend Cammy and Michael's place. They are very accommodating and have stocked their house with not just the basics, but much in addition to that as well.

  I have rented this hospitable home many times (and will be doing so at least twice this year 2012). The owners keep it well supplied and very clean. The interior is spacious and there's plenty of outdoor room as well. The kitchen with its food preparation island is roomy and well-stocked. It has up to date appliances and a counter separating it from the dining area. We've also enjoyed cooking on the outdoor grill and, on warm days and nights eating, in the patio. There's a horseshoe pit and a small but adequate pool. The area is quiet and safe. And, in addition to all of this, Perry Creek Retreat is in the heart of one of California's great wine-making areas and a short drive from Sly Lake Park. We love it!
