My family LOVED this house! From the small detail of a little wooden train for my little guy to play with, to the wonderfully comfortable beds to sleep in, the owners have gone "all out" to make this little gem a home away from home. 6 of us comfortably shared space in this well equipped cottage (a-frame). We would ABSOLUTELY recommend it others.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I took our kids to spend four nights in Massanutten during Winter Break from school and stayed at this lovely home. What an awesome vacation we had! This was the first ski/snowboarding trip for the kids (ages 13 and 10) and our first rental through VRBO. Gina (the owner) was a pleasure to work with and provided us with regular email updates and information for us to use in preparing for the getaway. The house is located on a quiet street in the heart of the resort and was neat, clean and comfortable. The wi-fi connection was a plus, since both my husband and I had to do a few hours of work while we were there. The kids also appreciated the DVD player and flat screen TV, since we brought movies with us to watch each night. We went snow tubing, skiing (our son snowboarded), enjoyed the water park, and went ice skating. The Pathways program for lessons for us and the kids were superb and by the second day, both kids were going down the intermediate slopes (My favorite instructor was Basil.) We went out to dinner a few nights at the local restaurants and the two we really enjoyed were Romano's and Hank's Smokehouse. We will definitely go back to Massanutten and this house (the kids' said this was one of their favorite vacations - and that is saying ALOT considering last year we went to the Dominican Republic!).Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I went up for a couples getaway weekend and we loved every minute of it! The house is very cozy and everything was easy to find. The location was perfect! We were able to tube and enjoy the waterpark all in one day. The home is also close to Harrisonburg so it was so easy to hop in the car and drive into downtown! We all loved our stay and did not want to leave. We are already looking forward to our next visit!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great, but brief weekend getaway in Massanutten at this house. We're a family of four with two boys, 6 & 8. The house was the perfect size and the accomodations were as promised. The owners were easy to deal with and the space was a perfect size. I wouldn't recommend it for two families because it is cozy. But it is very convenient to all of the main Massanutten attractions. We'd do it again but next time for a few days longer.Recommended for: Families with young children.

It was a cozy place in a quiet neighborhood which was very nicely decorated. Our family enjoyed our weekend stay in the woods at Massanutten. We did go to the indoor water park on site and the kids loved it! Overall the property was clean and maintained well with many books and board games available. The owner was very helpful in getting back to me with questions about the rental. At the house, the owner had a handbook with tips on activities and restaurants in the area. This was a great resource to have for finding places to go. We did go to the Thunderbird Cafe and Capital Ale House to eat and enjoyed dining there. The only issue we had was trying to use the gas fireplace, which we weren't able to get working.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for the great feedback and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at Pheasant Run. I'm sorry you had trouble with the fireplace and wish you had called me or my onsite Property Manager while you were there, he would have gladly come to the house and shown you how to turn on the fireplace. Thank you again!

We spent a week in this beautiful home during mid August, 2012. We had 3 kids (11, 8, 6) and had plenty of space to enjoy family and alone time. The home is on a quiet residential street in the lower portion of Massanutten and near the arboretum, short hikes, playground, and pond. Loved the upstairs bedroom get-away for the parents. Home was beatifully decorated, very clean, and had a well stocked kitchen/laundary room/bathrooms. The owners are really interested in making your stay comfortable with details such as plenty of pens on the counter, recommendations for area amenities/restaurants, and plush towels. Both the owner, Gina, and her property maintenance, Lee, were quick to respond to inquiries. We enjoyed the resort's water park, alpine tubing, mini golf, Euro bungee, go-karts, kid's zip line, and petting farm. Understand up front, that while Massanutten advertises many amenities on-line, the health clubs (yoga, etc) are available only to time-share units and not to private homes such as this. While that was a little confusing at the beginning of our stay, we soon got the hang of things and thoroughly enjoyed our week at Massanutten. This home was a great home base in this beautiful area!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
