We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and are planning on returning. The owners were very accommodating and the property is beautiful. The cottages are rustic but have comfortable beds and nice linens. We loved sitting on the back porch which has a beautiful view of the river and watching the fireflies at night. Wish we could have stayed longer!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and 2 girls had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin on the river. House perfect for family of four. Plenty of deer, fish and hummingbirds to help you enjoy nature. Beautiful views of the Guadalupe river and bluff across the river. Karl the owner was great to deal with and lives nearby. Camp Mystic nearby and you can hear muffled announcements throughout the day, including "Taps" at night to signal "lights out." Great tv in family room- but get directions if you are remote impaired. No cell service, but local phone and WiFi worked great. Make sure you make it to Crider's rodeo, The Hunt Store and the Dam in Ingram. We hope to stay again soon :)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

My family (2 adults & 2 children) stayed at the Kipp house for a week at the end of July. We had such a wonderful time and the accommodations were wonderful. We couldn't ask for a better part of the river to swim in. Our friends from Dallas came for part of the time and stayed next door. They were also very happy with their quarters. We can't wait to go back again next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1950
About the owner: The photo is my sister and me around 1967. I live here in Hunt, TX and co-own and operate with my sister, from Austin, the Lincoln Ranch in Encinal, TX as well as this property.
Why the Owner Chose Hunt:
This place was purchased as a summer get-away by our grandparents, who cotton farmed in the Valley. It was convenient for them since their daughter (our mother) was a camper at Camp Mystic in the mid 50s. It has been a wonderful summer spot for us for 50+ years.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
One of many unique benefits is having the bluff on the other side of the river. Not only is it fantastic to look at but it secludes our place more since there are no improvements there. Another plus is the yard. Having flat land in the HIll Country is sometimes hard to come by so having a flat yard makes it fun for kids to play on. Being across the highway from Camp Mystic and a couple of miles from Crider's Outdoor dance Hall and Rodeo makes driving there... or walking there a breeze.
Fredericksburg is a short drive away as well.
