Welcome to the Grand Lake Retreat House, a stunning hand-crafted log home on the shores of Shadow Mountain Lake. This home was built for our large extended family with much thought put into building a timeless beauty that our family will enjoy for generations to come.
The home is 4,500 square feet and is set up to sleep 20 people on three levels. The main level consists of a large great room with a wall of windows overlooking peaceful Shadow Mountain Lake. The kitchen is truly a chef's delight. Furnished with a 10 foot island and top-of-the-line appliances including double ovens, a six burner cook top and a sub zero refrigerator you'll have all you need to prepare wonderful meals for your family and friends. And while you are preparing your feast, you can watch all of the activity on the lawn and lake below from two sizeable banks of windows.
The dining room table sits 14 comfortably and a second table in the great room will sit an additional 6 people. The main floor master suite has a king-sized bed, bathroom with walk-in shower and large lakefront window perfect for watching the sunrise from bed.
On the 3rd level there is one master suite with a queen-sized bed, large jetted tub, separate shower and private lakefront deck perfect for lake viewing and star gazing. Also upstairs are two additional bedrooms with a queen-sized bed in each. These two bedrooms share a second bathroom with a tub/shower. On the 3rd level there is also a large loft area overlooking the great room with amazing lake views, a comfy couch and large desk set up for working professionals.
The lower level is a walkout with a huge rec room looking out towards the lake through another long wall of windows. This room has many amenities to entertain both kids and adults alike. The room currently has a quick-shoot basketball game, train table, large table for doing crafts or playing games, and player piano. The room also has a television WITHOUT CABLE. There is a DVD/VHS player for watching movies.
In addition, the lower level has another king bedroom, two bunk rooms and another full bathroom, The first bunk room has 3 sets of twin bunk beds and the second bedroom has 2 sets of queen bunk beds.
This home has a huge wrap around deck on the main level that has a barbeque, two picnic tables and several rocking chairs to sit and enjoy the lakefront views. On the lower level there is a huge porch that runs the width of the house with a third picnic table and a porch swing.
There is a large grassy area on the lakefront perfect for throwing the ball, frisbee or just enjoying the amazing views. The house also has its own private boat dock along with three canoes, three kayaks and three paddle boards.
