The fact that this was a repeat stay should say it all...but I'll say a bit more for good measure. My husband, two medium-sized dogs and I wanted to get away for a snowy weekend, and this gorgeous cabin, now with a fireplace open for use, hit the mark perfectly. We listened to the owner's Chet Baker album while drinking wine and making s'mores by evening, and hiked with our dogs by day. It was the perfect weekend retreat from the city, we are all still riding the high until our next visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved our weekend at this cabin! I went here for a long weekend with a group of friends from the city looking for a weekend get away in the woods. It was just as described, clean and we felt very much at home here. The kitchen is small but we cooked breakfast lunch and dinner everyday without problems. The house was warm and comfortable on a winter weekend and we loved playing the owners records on the record playerin the livingroom. The cabin is on a nice chunk of land, far off the main road which was great for our dogs. The owner was VERY helpful in accommodating a couple request we had and providing great info about the area based on our party's interest. I would love to return and would enthusiastically recommend this place!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This cabin was great for a weekend getaway with our two dogs. They had a great time running around in the woods by the house. The cabin is really close to Woodstock and not too far from Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper. There is central heat which was perfect for Sunday when the temperature suddenly dropped 25 degrees. The cabin is clean and uncluttered. We had a great relaxing getaway.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our weekend at the Woodstock Film Festival was completely enhanced by the fabulous accommodations! The cabin we stayed in was ideal in every way. It was comfortable, clean and inviting. The location was close to town but private enough to create the feeling of an oasis. The owner was easy to reach with any questions and very gracious. We look forward to future stays at this cabin and are big fans of Ulster County in general. It is without hesitation that I recommend this spot. By the way, our three month old golden doodle puppy Bodhi especially enjoyed the weekend. This was his very first vacation! Thanks you Lars for providing such a great accommodation! Lars was very nice and accommodated us last minute. The place is very clean and we had plenty of blankets and bedding for 4 of us to stay there. We didn't spend much time there but the time we did fit all of our needs.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Lars has the place set up perfectly for families with kids. Lots of toys, a crib, and plenty of yard to run around in. The location only a couple miles from Woodstock makes it convenient, yet the property is completely hidden from traffic back in the woods. We saw deer and bunnies every day. A great property and we'll definitely stay again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I needed a weekend rental in Woodstock so that we could attend a wedding, and we were prepared to sacrifice a bit of luxury in order to bring our two medium-large dogs and let them enjoy the wildlife and scenery there...so we were ecstatic to discover that this home has everything we needed to make humans AND dogs happy. The house looks like a cabin nestled into the base of a mountain/hill, but inside it's fully modern and appears to have been recently renovated. It quite simply feels like home, or what you wish home felt like. The decor and furnishings were at once lovely and rustic enough to not induce fear at the wag of a tail or the swing of a baby arm (the owners clearly have children and decorated intelligently). The kitchen is fully-equipped, and very near the dining room with a full table, which was nice since my husband loves to cook and we made all our meals there. The front room is spacious and happens to have awesome acoustics, which came in handy since we are musicians and needed to practice, but it also makes for delightful listening to their collection of classical records. We played those...and listened to the beautiful songbirds in the tree canopy above the yard...while we grilled on their Weber. Our dogs took their job of keeping squirrels and chipmunks in their respective trees and holes very seriously, and they even saw a bobcat, which they were bright enough not to chase. They're seldom able to really, REALLY run, as NYC dogs, and they got to sprint after deer so many times that they were out of breath with tongues hanging sideways from their mouths more often than not. Our best memory of the trip was waking up to excited noises from our dogs who were watching deer graze a few feet from the bedroom's patio door (that's another incredible perk...almost every room has a door leading outside, most of them with screens to enjoy the fresh air). It will have to last us until we are able to return, which we absolutely will.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
