My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at this unit. We had been to Maui a number of times some years ago and were looking for a comfortable place to "veg out" in (no need to revisit the more touristy places) ; this unit more than met our needs. (However, the location means it is easy to get to all parts of Maui if you do want to see the whole island.) The lanai has a marvelous view of the bay and, at this time of year, the activity of the many whales who migrate to the bay. The unit is very well equipped. The kitchen is a recent renovation and is very well supplied with equipment and utensils. The other rooms are attractively decorated and comfortable. I very much enjoyed the comfort of the king-size bed. There are many cable channels available on the wide-screen TVs. Everything was spotless and conformed to the listing description. We enjoyed The Maalaea General Store and Leoda's (on the way to Lahaina) for lunch. About the owner: As four Washingtonians, three cougars and one lone Husky!, we don't always agree on who should win...but two things we do agree on are - escaping to Maui and Kanai 'A Nalu for peace, quiet, beautiful views from our lanai and Paradise For All.
Why the Owner Chose Maalaea:
After having stayed at Kanai A Nalu every February with many of our friends and our family over the course of 12 years we realized this was OUR paradise - our home away from home. In 2012, we decided we were not going to stay anywhere else for vacation and we opted to buy one of only eight top floor oceanfront units -- 402 has exceeded all of our expectations!
