We felt at home the moment we walked in the door. The decor of the home is beautiful and the view is breath taking. Thank you for the tips about the Cloudland Canyon trip, we had so much fun there. We went back four times. Your location is perfect too, not far from the Lookout Mountain attractions and caverns. We just came back from a one week stay at this beautiful Chalet. We had such a nice time. This Chalet was as beautiful as it looked in the pictures. Everything was so clean and we felt right at home. The breakfast foods were delicious and my family thoroughly enjoyed them! Everything you could possibly need is included in this Chalet (and plenty of it). There is plenty of room for everyone (there were 5 of us). Everything in this listing is so accurate. We have stayed at a lot of places, and by far, this one is the most accurate. Thank you Dave and Carol for a wonderful vacation.

Wonderful Christmas trip

What a great way to spend Christmas. Arrived on 23rd, departed on the 26th. Had 4 inches of snow on Christmas day. This is a lovely, well kept, roomy mountain side chalet, with everything you need provided. Very comfortable, cozy and warm. Just bring your food and clothes. A DSL cable is provided for internet, Satellite tv and a gas fire place are also provided. Hot tub is great. The owners are a very nice couple. Don't hesitate to book a stay here.

Spectacular view in a peaceful setting!

What a fabulous time my family had when we stayed "above the clouds" to celebrate my sister's birthday. The chalet was very clean with all necessities taken care of. My mom and dad spent most of their time enjoying the view and listening to the birds from the back deck. We enjoyed Ruby Falls and Lake Winnepesaukah which were only a short 25 minute drive away. We also enjoyed Dave's suggestions for dinner at Canyon Grill and Larry's Buffet. My boys were thrilled with the dinosaur shark's teeth and are very proud to show them to their friends. We will definitely stay here again and would love to see the view in the Fall. We would highly recommend staying "above the clouds". Thank you Mr. Dave and Ms. Carole!

Being here at the cabin with family was a wonderful way to bring in the New Year! We played games, put together puzzles and watched football. My 5 year old loved to serenade us on the piano! The sunrise and sunsets were breathtaking Probably the most memorable moment was when our 5 year old daughter, stood in front of the upstairs bedroom window and decided on her own to get down on her knees and pray to thank God for such a beautiful world! We were blessed to be here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Comment Text: Dearest Dave and Carol, My family cannot thank you enough the wonderful getaway that we experienced at your beautiful home. We were plesantly greated even though we arrived late in the evening. Your home is elegantly decorated, clean, cozy & the views are breathtaking. The hottub was a nice relaxing spot to take it all in. My children cried when we had to leave. They enjoyed the fishing pond and all the great hikes and sites that you told us about. Most of all they enjoyed spending quality time with Mom and Dad, the puppies and YOU!!! They enjoyed every minute even though we were all sick. You made sure that we had all that we needed! From the views, to the garden, the hammocks and the hospitality we were truly blessed. God is continuing to use you in amazing ways. Thank you for everything. We highly reccommed "Above the Clouds"! When we arrived at Above the Clouds late on Thursday night we knew it was a special place. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The upstairs bed has a super comfortable mattress and both bathrooms are spacious. The cabin is chock full of books in every room. It was not until the next morning that we could really appreciate the outstanding view and beautiful garden and waterfall areas. The cabin was immacuately clean and supplied with breakfast goodies. The hot tub was also very clean and well taken care of. The property overall is very clean, quiet and peaceful. All of these special touches made for a perfect vacation home and a wonderful place to get engaged! We loved Above the Clouds and it will always hold a very special place in our hears.

Dave and Carole, David and I truly enjoyed our stay at your chalet. I have two regrets... (1) That I had to attend a conference during our visit and (2) That we didn't understand the extent of how wonderful you were until the day we were leaving. Of course, we loved the chalet. It was breathtaking and the views were amazing. However, what I will never forget is the time of worship we shared with you before we left. I would say it was by accident that you shared your beautiful song with us and the DVD, but I know that with God, there are no accidents. I have been a christian for many years and grew up in a christian home as my father is a minister. But, I was touched and renewed by what you shared with us. Thank you so much! Dave and Carole, I'm trying to think of other ways to express how fantastic your place is in a way that is different from what has already been said in the comments from other families who have stayed, but, to no avail. Everyone has already summed up what our family would have said! You two are amazingly generous and thoughtful and it showed up many times in our stay at the chalet. The pristine accomodations, the food in the fridge, the family movies and board games, the inspirational books, the candles lit and the music playing when we walked in......aaahhh! What a welcome experience for the weary traveler! Our 20th Wedding Anniversary was so special to us because this place is so awesome. It is breathtaking! The view and the chalet are wonderful. The owners are also wonderful Christian people. They made us feel so welcome and so special. As I said it was our 20th anniversary and they had left us a large heart-shaped box of candy in the upstairs bedroom. They provided everything for breakfast. It was a little piece of heaven and I can't wait to go back. Hopefully every year on our anniversary! SPECTACULAR!!!

WOW!! I have stayed in many place but this one by far blew the all out of the water. The View the Hot Tub was perfect. Every detail inside and out was so carefully thought out. My Wife and myself came up here to get away for our anniversary and had the whole trip planned out but once we got to the house we didnt want to leave. The pictures do not do this place justice. As for the owners David and Carol these have to be two of the most kind people I have have meet. Thank you for letting us enjoy you home and we hope to return very soon.

Dave and Carole were the most gracious host I've ever encoumtered. The cabin is beautiful and the view is breath taking. I have stayed in many cabins from The Carolinas to Florida and have never dealt with more caring and gracious owners. There are no cut corners with the cabin and it's furnishings. Everything is top of the line. I will definately return. My rating is Overwhelmingly positive.

We stayed at the Above the Clouds Inn for 5 nights. Access to Rock City, Ruby Falls, Hang Gliding, Canyon hiking was very convienient. Access to downtown Chatanooga (Aquarium, IMAX, etc,) also close by (45 minuts max.) There are so many details to this wonderful home that they just need to be experienced. The owners David and Carol are very gracious and wonderful hosts and there is no way anyone could have a bad time here. The peace and tranquility are present as soon as you walk in the door, the view is breathtaking, the accomodations excellent, the value excellent. We had a really great time.

IMPRESSIVE!! So glad we decided to try Chattanooga area instead of our traditional Gatlinburg trip! I think we've been converted, thanks to this beautiful place we called our "home away from home" for an early Christmas celebration. I could go on and on about the "amenities"; wonderful breakfast foods, spacious chalet, beautiful decor, and views the pictures just can't do justice. We can't wait to return!

The tranquility and majestic beauty of the mountain had us awestruck upon arrival. The taste with which the chalet was decorated was impeccable. From the fresh cut flowers and chocolates, to the collection of classic literature and videos, no detail was overlooked. The kids really enjoyed the binoculars for looking at the valley.
