About the owner: A life-long resident of San Luis Obispo, I graduated from Cal Poly SLO, traveled worldwide for several years, and discovered that I already lived in paradise! So I never left.
It's great to live in a vacation :o)
Why the Owner Chose San Luis Obispo: I feel lucky and honored to have purchased this unique property from the family that originally owned it since 1888. So, in 125 years, I am the second owner, have lived here for 30 years, and intend to keep the property throughout my lifetime.
Rich in history, the house has a calming, old-world ambiance and presence that immediately made me feel at home.
As a student at Cal Poly, I rented this property (along with a host of roommates) while attending university. After graduating, I asked the owners if someday I could buy it from them. The answer always was, 'We want to keep it in the family.' Then one day, the daughter of the man who built the property came to me and said, 'we've decided that you are family.'
Upon purchasing the property, I made two promises to the owner, 1) make it beautiful so it will never be torn down and turned into condos and 2) always have lots of friends and family over because the house had forever been a place of many friends, laughs, and good times.
Keeping both promises, the house was beautifully remodeled in 1998 and continues to be a gathering place for fun with friends / family and weekly dinner parties.
So relax and enjoy...you're among family here at the Peach Street 1888 Bungalow!
