Location: Hilo, Hilo District, Big Island, Hawaii, USA (Half way between Hilo and Volcano, 300' from the ocean.)
Accommodations: Hawaii Vacation Rental House, 2 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 4)
Located about 20 minutes south of Hilo and about 300 feet from the ocean, this is in a very quiet area almost at the end of a dead-end road. There is a large, open space just to the north where you can walk along the coast for miles and miles. There are incredible rock formations and awesome blue waves. You'll see whales often, and the turtles swim just feet from shore, making you wonder how they keep from getting pounded by the waves.
This is an almost brand-new custom home, completed in July, 2004. Its observation deck provides a unique private ocean view, and is an ideal place for morning coffee. The kitchen is generously furnished, including appliances, silverware, and serving ware. Like the guest bathroom, the kitchen boasts granite countertops.
The atrium is mostly covered, and has a large dining room table and chairs. It also contains the spiral staircase leading up to the observation deck, which also has a table and chairs.
Both bedrooms are air conditioned, and have eight-foot sliding glass doors looking out at the Pacific Ocean. The master bath has an outdoor shower in a redwood enclosure for privacy and a designer sink in a custom cabinet. The guest bath has an over-sized shower. The bath in the lanai next to the pool is darling and also has a shower.
The living room is equipped with high-backed couch and chairs and a Direct TV system. The home has once-a-week maid service; she is a wonderful and helpful person and she also provides fresh flowers.
