Ellijay cabin description
Fall and winter is a great time of year at Eagle Creek Hideaway. Our cabin is located in Coosawattee River Resort (CRR) which is a 6500 acre gated resort in some of most beautiful mountains in North Georgia.
The Coosawattee River flows through the resort for 11 miles before it forms the headwaters of Carters Lake. There are many amenities to take advantage of in the resort during the cooler months including an indoor heated Olympic sized pool, a well-equipped gym, game room, tennis courts, and basketball courts. There are several parks along the Coosawattee River that you can also take advantage of, but the best part of your vacation begins at Eagle Creek Hideaway. Our cabin is located in a private valley and is located right on Flat Creek which is a fast flowing creek with large rocks and small waterfalls. There is a large area next to the creek with a fire pit, and a plentiful supply of wood to have a fire and enjoy the cool evenings relaxing next to the fire while making smores. The walk down to the creek is an easy walk, and you don't have to climb down the side of a mountain like a lot of water front cabins.
The cabin is decorated with a lot of thought put into the mountain experience. There are hardwood floors throughout. Vaulted wood ceilings with exposed beams and skylights let in natural light. It has two fireplaces, one in the main living area which can be enjoyed by everybody and one in the master bedroom. We also include the wood and fire starters that you will need for your stay. So you can stay connected (only if you want to) we provide Wi-Fi and Dish network. There is also a good selection of family friendly movies for small kids and adults.
Our cabin is easy to get to and is only 1 mile from the main road. Our driveway is paved from the road down to the level parking area for easy access. We have strived to make our cabin the most enjoyable experience possible. Please take time to read our reviews. Thanks for looking.

- Ellijay is the historic county seat of Gilmer County, and the Apple Capital of Georgia. Mountain vistas, cold clear rivers, antique shops, and biking. It is the host of the Apple festival each October. Ellijay has the convenience of a super Walmart, Ingles, Food Lion, etc. Dining is also good with Longhorns, Ruby Tuesdays, Shanes Rib Shack, to name a few. There is also almost any fast food restaurant you could ask for such as McDonalds, Wendy's, Sonic, Subway, Hardees, Taco Bell, etc. There are also many local restaurants which are favorites to locals and visitors alike. Ellijay is a good central location for all the activities you look for in a mountain vacation. Carters Lakes is only a few miles down the road with recreation areas for fishing boating, picnicking, playgrounds and swimming. Blue Ridge, Dahlonega, and Amicalola Falls State park are a short distance away. Come and get lost in paradise!...moreless

Relaxing Family Get a Way
Relaxing Family Get a Way
Our family including my 15 & 9 year old as well as Mother and Father in Law loved this cabin. It's nestled on a rushing creek with several different areas to sit along the creek. In the morning I would go out with my first cup of coffee and just marvel at God's majestic creation. The trees were still colorful and beautiful. We enjoyed building a fire at night in the nice fire pit with seating all around it. After a long day visiting the apple orchards, we thoroughly enjoyed just relaxing in the cabin. We played games and cards and loved the family time. We also drove around the resort area early in the morning both days and saw over 40 deer as well as wild turkeys. Final bonus was the restaurant quality Belgian waffle maker. We used it for breakfast both days. Brian and Gina gave perfectly clear instructions before our arrival which helped since we arrived after dark. They were awesome to work with. We will definitely be back.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this cabin. It is an awesome place to vacation. We have rented various cabins over the last 20 years and this is by far the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed in. The kitchen is well equipped to cook whatever you want. We grilled 3 nights. Sitting by the outdoor fire pit by the creek is wonderful and very relaxing listening to the creek.

Our visit was a girls weekend get-away. The cabin was very warm and inviting. The open floor plan in the livingroom/kitchen was ideal for indoor activites and conversations. The owners have done an excellent job of providing information at the cabin on everything from how to operate the dvd player to where firewood is stored for the fireplace. The beautiful babbling creek with the outdoor stone firepit and adirondack chairs are great for families of all sizes, couples and friends. There is also an outdoor bench swing overlooking the very picturesque creek. Simply something for everyone. The cabin interior and exterior was clean and well maintained and felt as comfortable as being in your own home. Every amenitity was thought of ahead of time. This is a beautiful place to stay. We plan on returning and would recommend this cabin to family and friends.

Outstanding Setting for Family Special Outings
Outstanding Setting for Family Special Outings
Great setting and fantastic accommodations for a large family get together that will be remembered for a long time. The sound of the creek and adjacent fire pit in the secluded environment was a special treat. The cabin owners were extremely helpful and provided excellent communication and local information. We're looking forward to another visit.

We recently stayed here for a week, with me, my husband, our 3 kids, my parents, and a dog. It was more than adequate space wise and the layout is really nice. The location on the river is wonderful, and the back yard has enough room to let the dog run around or play ball with the kids. It's so quiet and secluded, you feel like you're miles away from anyone (though you're not!). It's also still very convenient to downtown Ellijay and any big stores you'd want to go to (Walmart, Ingles). The owner, Brian, is very nice and accommodating. We hope to make a stay here a regular occurrence!

Great get away
Great get away
This cabin was perfect for our family of four to get away for a long weekend. The cabin was clean and decorated nicely. The owners were responsive and easy to work with. The stand out about this cabin was the fact that you do not see any other cabins. Most of the other cabins we considered in this area showed neighbors. Eagle Creek Hideaway is truly remote in that you have the creek rushing past and a view of nothing but woods and water. Very nice.

My husband and I were in the area for a few days looking at property to purchase and could not have asked for anything more perfect for our temporary home. The pictures tell a good story but don't reflect the true beauty and peacefulness of this rental. The creek was amazing and we made time every day to enjoy it. I don't know who enjoyed it more, us or our 2 dogs. They were in heaven. The home was clean, very well maintained and had everything we could possibly need for our stay and then some. The owners went over and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and addressed any questions that we had. Thank you Bryan and Gina for sharing your home with us. We will definitely be back to build our dream home on the property we found! We hope to see you soon. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Owner response: Thanks for the kind words. It is hard to capture in pictures the beauty and serenity of the valley our cabin is in. Glad you found our place inviting and comfortable. We strive to make our guests happy so they will come back to visit.
The most beautiful cabin and location you could ask for. So relaxing, and had everything you needed. Tv in master bedroom, nice treat. Such a peaceful place. Really enjoyed the screened in porch, could enjoy your coffee in the am and listen to the rushing creek. From the screened porch we watched 2 two bucks grazing. Hope to be back in October.

Owner response: Thank you for the great review. Glad you were able to relax and take advantage of the screened in porch. We have had a lot of deer come around the cabin. Everybody enjoys the wildlife around the cabin..
My friends and I met for a short weekend getaway and this property was perfect! Very spacious and very clean!! The screened in back porch was perfect for early morning coffee and late night conversations with friends!! The owner (Brian) was fantastic to work with and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. With confidence and eagerness I can recommend Eagle Creek Hidaway!!

Fun creating memories
Fun creating memories
The moment the car door opened my kids were flying down the driveway to the rivers edge. The creek that runs along the property is a great place to swim and tube if you can handle the cold water. The rocks all over the property invite you to hone your climbing skills. We placed corn on the ground outside the living room window to watch does come every day and eat. The hummingbird feeder was a huge hit for my father. He loves to birdwatch. We spent many hours in the swing by the creek or around the firepit listening to the rapids. The cabin was roomy and very comfortable with great mountain decorations. I thought this was a pet free cabin. My son and I are both allergic to cats. Good thing we brought our allergy medication. My mistake and I will make sure I book pet free next time.

Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: We are Gina and Brian and our regular home(when we are not at home at the cabin) is in Fayetteville, Ga. We have a daughter Amber (21) and a son Michael (19).
Why the Owner Chose Ellijay:
We bought this cabin in October of 2011. We love the North Georgia area and particularly the Ellijay area due to the beauty and convenience. It is the closest to metro Atlanta as you can get and still be in the mountains, and in a different world.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We fell in love with our cabin when we first saw it. It is in a private valley with a fast flowing creek directly behind the house. It is in Coosawattee River resort with all the amenities you could ask for.
