Pinch me, we have arrived! Incredible spot. Description underestimated! The gorgeous views and incredible privacy made for a welcome week of R&R. Restful beds, well equipped kitchen, heaps of DVDs, vintage and luxury appointments + outdoor living made us feel right at home, and far away at the same time. Wine tasting was our favorite adventure...and skipping rocks at Vacation Beach. Hiking anyone? Armstrong woods was surreal! We have already booked another week in the summer. Can't wait. RR

Owner response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. We have a brand new gas grill, so your next visit will be even better. Enjoy!

Well-kept, cosy cabin, nicely landscaped, overlooking and with direct access to the Russian River. Peaceful and relaxing towards the end of October. Ideal location - close to the Beach, armstrong Redwoods, other small, quaint towns. Description on VRBO was accurate. Property was generally clean and well-maintained. Owner was friendly and helpful in answering questions/concerns. Would recommend this property to a friend or relative. Plenty of options for meals, both lowbrow and highbrow. We especially enjoyed the Armstrong Redwoods, the coast, driving the back-country roads, the Garden Grill ($$), Panda Express ($), the excellent pizza at the Main Street Italian restaurant ($$$), and the coffee shop, and the fascinating ice-cream/yogurt shop.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at Leo's cabin. It was everything we had hoped for a few days of relaxation. We had a great time in Armsrtrong redwoods on Saturday, then headed out to the coast and ate our sandwiches on the beach on Sunday. Early on Saturday morning just as the sun was breaking through the mist, sitting on the stones along the river's edge below Leo's cabin, we watched an angler catch a 12" steelhead and learned a little about fly fishing.

Three friends and I spent a heavenly weekend at Leo's Hideaway this past September. The cottage is located on a lovely little street, great for walking and observing what people have or haven't done to their little houses that follow the Russian River. But once you enter this cottage, you're in your own private world; everything faces the breathtaking view of river and redwoods, and the neighbors' houses have somehow disappeared. We could easily have spent the entire weekend relaxing in this comfortably-furnished nest, with its indoor and outdoor areas for eating and lounging, its smart and quirky artwork and its luxurious linens. The well-equipped kitchen contains everything we needed, from souffle dishes to first-rate knives. We did tear ourselves out of the cottage during the day, to pillage the local wineries and farmer's market for the ingredients for several home-cooked meals, one evening cooking dinner using the outdoor gas grill. And the next evening we did venture out to the recommended Applewood Inn, where we were pampered all over again with attentive service, carefully-prepared food, and a first-rate wine list. I can't wait to go back!

We so enjoyed our three days here over the Labor Day weekend! The cottage was just perfect for our group of three adults and two children (8 yrs and 5 yrs) – situated in a quiet neighborhood, with easy access to Guerneville, there was plenty of room for us and all the amenities we could want. We especially enjoyed getting out on the river to swim off the dock and paddle around in the kayaks – the kids were also able to manage the kayaks on their own and the river was calm enough that they could go ‘exploring’ along the river which they loved (while the adults either swam nearby or kept a close watch from the riverbank). And in the evening when the temperature cooled down, we enjoyed the fireplace (s’mores!) and playing Pictionary (in the games cupboard) around the kitchen table. Another nice benefit was the easy access to the Coast which made for a nice side trip one afternoon. A great place to stay on the Russian River!

An extended family stayed over the holiday weekend and had a wonderful time saying "it was just perfect for us." "We had a wonderful time outdoors during the day swimming and kayaking and just 'hanging out' in the cozy living room in the evening playing games from the extensive collection. We made a fire at night in the comfy living room. We were impressed with how 'new' the cottage interior felt and everything was in really great working order - we couldn't think of anything we we needed that wasn't already there (and easy to find)! The detailed departure checklist made arriving and leaving easy. Thank you for a great trip!"

The house was perfect!! We made most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen, went wine tasting, and golfing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, saw live music, had some local bites and also had enough time to laze around in the sun and stare at the stars. There are laundry and towels available, as well as movies for watching in front of the fireplace. We sat on the deck and had coffee in the mornings, and sat and read while watching the river laze by. We were locals by the time we left. We look forward to coming back.

Our group of 6, three adults and 3 kids stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. The place is perfect for those with or without kids. Two bedrooms plus the futon off the dining area (with amazing views) provided ample sleeping space. Plenty of extra linens were provided along with complimentary shampoo and conditioner! The cupboard was stocked with lots of condiments and kitchenware. The house is cozy and nicely laid out. The back yard, which is directly off the dining area has a table and chairs for six and and BBQ. We brought our own camping chairs which was not necessary since there were plenty of Adirondack chairs both in the back yard and down in the garden arranged around the fire pit. One of the best features of the house is the river access. No need to go to the public beach, you can grab one of the two kayaks or the paddle boat and head on to the water from the dock. The kids spent the whole time in and out of the water and having the kayaks available is a very big plus. The description was very accurate. The front garden is lovely has a table and chairs too, and is nice for a shady afternoon spot. The owner was extremely helpful and made sure to contact us after we arrived to make sure everything was okay, which it was. Overall the place was really great. Clean and very comfortable. We have already recommended it to our friends and look forward to our next trip to Leo's Riverfront Hideaway.
