The unit had everything you needed. It is a nice location with ocean view. We watched whales daily off the deck. They were incredible. The unit really needs an overall cleaning. It ia bit dated, but that could all be overlooked if it was clean. Baseboards were really dirty, area rug and carpet needed steam cleaned, along with the couch. I dont want to paint the unit with a bad brush as we really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very easy to deal with. We have said we would stay again, if confirmed the unit had been professionally cleaned.

This was my 4th time to Maui with my wife, first time to bring the 3 daughters. The complex is very nice. The unit itself is just like the photos show, clean and very large with plenty of room to spread out. The unit itself was not updated like some of the other units in the complex, but the money saved was well worth staying in unit 41. We didnt spend a lot of time in the unit because we were snorkeling Lanai, driving the road to Hana, driving the back road from Kapalua , biking down Haleakala, Helicoptering West Maui and Molokai, but when we were in the condo it was GREAT. We loved the view and because it is tucked away at the end of the complex , it was very quite and secluded. We will stay in this unit every time we come back to Maui

We returned from this property pretty disappointed with our stay. The property itself was nice, but our condo is not very well taken care of. Many of the other condos in the complex are redone and in good shape. This one leaves a lot to be desired. Tiles fell off the shower while we were there, the knives were dangerous as they were not sharp, the beds were older and uncomfortable. One bed had the wrong size sheets. The dishwasher was broken and emited the smell of sewage. The owner sent someone out to fix it 4 days later, but it remained broken. What was most difficult for us was the amount of noise from the nearby road. We were there for our 10th anniversary and the noise was so bad throughout the entire night that we ended up sleeping in separate rooms in order to get any sleep at all. We would not choose to return to this condo.

Owner response: Our condo is a lovely oceanfront beachfront unit, but not a lux remodel like many that are twice the price! Hardly a fair comparison, as they paid half the price! This guest reported the dishwasher wasn't working, it was checked the next day and was working just fine, guess they couldn't figure how to start it! Two small tiles in shower repaired right away. Can't please everyone, but 99% enjoy it and many return to us.

Having stayed at Kahana Village many years over the last 25 years, we were surprised to find this condo at such a lower rate than the others. We decided to go not expecting too much, but to our surprise everything was wonderful. Oceanfront, with all the amenities from home. Nice big screen TV, comfy beds, you can watch the sunset from the Lanai every night, everything was very clean. Everything works, we have had no problems. We would highly recommend this to a family who wants the beauty of Hawaii but needs more than a hotel room. We still have a little over a week left here and are looking forward to every minute of it. A definite "must" place to stay!!!

We have used VRBO 8 times in the last 5 years for our vacation rentals in Maui. This is the first time we felt we should post a review on this site in order to provide a more detailed assessment of the unit. We loved the grounds, beach and pool area, it's difficult to find a property in Kahana that has its own beach. The owners were friendly and easy to work with. The views from unit 41 were wonderful. We liked the open floor plan that the unit provided. We used the large lanai every morning to have coffee and breakfast while watching the whales breach. The large screen TV and 100's of cable channels including movies were nice. We felt the kitchen was adequately stocked with appliances and utensils. It's important to note that this unit is 1 of only 2 units on the property that are privately managed and is not updated like the others. During our stay in #41 we noted a few things that this unit lacked. The unit was tidy and well kept, however we noticed dirt and debris on the floor under the couch, chairs, and in the corners. There was a small amount of black mold in the lower bathroom shower area. The lanai furniture was rusting and a few of the chairs were broke. There were a few light bulbs in need of replacement. Due to the units location near the main road, the road noise was noticeable while sleeping. Overall, our stay at Kahana Village was very nice and we will definitely try to book again, however we will try to book the other managed units before booking this one.

This complex is a real green, quiet, great shared facilities like pool, cabana, etc. The unit itself is quite spacious and comfortable. The stream right next door means you get to see lots of great wildlife. There are high ceilings, great views, and it is relatively quiet, though one bedroom gets some road noise. The owners are very responsive. The only negatives are that the unit could use a little upgrading, especially the kitchen. If you plan to eat out most of the time it won't be a problem.

Reviewing this property is difficult as my family and I had an amazing time while in Maui. The view of the listing IS amazing; beach, island, stream, blowing palm trees, etc.. We were totally relaxed and, for the most part, comfortable. Kahana Village in and of itself was great; the pool was nice and clean, great area for grilling, and the lawns were perfectly maintained. We didn't spend much time at Kahana beach as we were interested in seeing more reputable beaches on the island. The problem was the property itself. I do not feel that the photos were an accurate reflection of the property. The furniture, cabinetry, and bathrooms are all in desperate need of updating. The cabniet under the kitchen sink was pretty awful; lots of old water-damaged plywood that was falling apart. Some of the hardware was falling off in the bathrooms. The shower curtains in both bathrooms were held up by precious few hooks. The tile in the upstairs bathroom was flaking off and the finish on the fawcet was deteriorating. The ice machine in the fridge was borken (no biggie as there is an ice machine by the pool). The curtains were very old and dirty. I can't say that I was 100% confident in the cleanliness of the floor as I found water bottles under one of the recliners and one under the master bed. There was also dirt and debris between one of the endtable and couch in the living room. The carpet had debris and felt sticky, I don't think it had been vaccumed upon our arrival. Lots of little ants to keep us company in the kitchen, but as we read online, this is common in the islands. All that being said, the property does have it's charm. The TV was nice and big and the kitchen was well stocked (although the knives could use some sharpening). There was plenty of space for two adults and two small children. And did I mention how great the view was?? It really was great to have morning coffee and watch sailboats go by. We realize that the price for this property is dramatically cheaper than the others at Kahana village. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for. We would probably stay here again.

My family and I have stayed at various condos on Maui (from Wailea to Napili) and our most favorite place to stay is in Kahana. While we have stayed at a few different condos in Kahana, I wanted to try something different and I didn't want to stay at a "high rise". I found this property and it seemed to fit my needs. I was pleasantly surprised - it was spacious and clean and the property was really kept up - manicured lawns and clean facilities (bar-b-que area, pool and beach). What is nice is that the beach has a public access, thus there are locals that wind surf, paddle board, surf, fish and jet ski. Its not an overcrowded beach, but it is not an empty beach as there are always a few people there. The listing and pictures shown are accurate and our rental, check in and out, went without a hitch. The property is close enough to Kapalua and Lahaina and you have wonderful views of Lanai and Molokai. My only suggestion would be for the owner to update his TV to a larger model and fix the chair at the desk - minor fixes because who watches TV in Maui and who works at a desk? Would I recommend this property - Yes! Would I stay at this property again - Yes!

Owner response: Mahalo for your nice comments and suggestions. We have replaced the living room TV with a new flat screen 52" HD. The desk chair got fixed (wasn't really broken, just needed the adjustable seat/back to be tightenend up). New sectional sofa added too!

Really enjoyed our first trip to Maui. Your condo was a great part of the trip. It was clean, well kept up, and in a good location for all we wanted to do. The grounds of the village were beautiful, and the small private beach delightful. We spent as much time there as we did at the bigger beaches. we have book marked your place for future stays. we were very happy with the experience. Phil
