Come enjoy Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley's many wonderful activities while staying in your private quaint cottage in the trees. It's whimsical and artistic in hopes it makes you smile.
It has one queen bed, a full kitchen, comfortable living area, and one bath with a stone and slate shower. It has a stack-up front load washer and dryer. It has electric heat and a wood stove (kindling and wood is supplied).
You'll enjoy your private yard with a lawn and stone and brick steps going down to your private recessed patio by a springfed pond and wood firepit.
There is a bar-b-que and small garden. You can help yourself to what is available in the garden for your meals.
There is a TV for DVD's (some movies are available). There is a stereo and some music, games, books and magazines if you choose to just hang out, but there is so much to do here and the list of things so long, we will be happy to direct you to whatever your interests are. Whether it be visiting Crater Lake National Park, taking the boat trip on the lake, fishing or rafting the Rogue River, going swimming at the Umpqua River, or taking one of the many hiking trails to different waterfalls, golfing, visiting our many wineries, or going to the Britt Music Festival, you'll want to stay awhile.

The owners have thought of everything in this tiny cottage in the trees. From tea & tunes to tissues & toiletries, they have prepared for our comfortable stay. This is our second stay and it's very clean here. We loved the yard with a lawn and pond to watch the wildlife. We could have driven up to the lake or hiked around the area, but I was content to just "hang out" and enjoy the quiet. There's not enough of that back at home :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

What an awesome place for a wonderful weekend get away from the "Real World". Our lives are pretty hectic and busy. We needed to get away, needed a real vacation. The "Whimsy cottage" has been a "Real Vacation" for us. Everything was just as wonderful as it could be from the private out door patio, fire pit to the step in the stone shower to make shaving your legs easier! The Whimsy Cottage in the Trees was a wonderful place to stay. The owners were both kind and knowledgeable about the area and offered great tips for my trip to Crater Lake. The accommodations far exceeded my expectations. The cottage and grounds were beautiful, unique and amazing...to say the least. I will definitely return to this wonderful little cottage nestled in the woods! And more importantly...I have already gladly mentioned my stay to all of my friends and will continue to spread the good word!! This listing is very accurately described. The photos don't do it justice. It's actually much cooler than it looks in the photos. The house has been built by the owner with wood cut from the property. The woodwork is just beautiful. The yard and patio area by the pond have also been designed by the owner and are beautiful as well. The property and home are clean, comfortably furnished, and is well stocked with anything you might need during your stay. If there's something that is missing, the owner is right next door and is more than willing to accommodate you. This is great place to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Or it is also a great location that makes day trips possible.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

About the owner: We both moved to Oregon from Southern California in 1976. We had vacationed here several times and fell in love with Oregon because of it's beauty and versatility. This is where we wanted to raise our children, which we did, all four. And they all still live in Oregon for the same reasons we moved here.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Crater Lake National Park is only 50 miles away.
Lost Creek Lake is only 25 min. away.
To get to the Umpqua River is only an hour away.
Rogue River is 10 min. away.
The small town of Shady Cove is 15 min. away and has most services.
The city of Medford is 45 min. away.
In other words, this place makes a great hub to go exploring.
