Stunning sunsets, beautiful shoreline, surrounded by trees!
Enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Michigan.
Enjoy a fire during the cool nights in the lakeside fire pit or the dramatic two story fireplace.
The house sits on a point that provides panoramic views of Lake Michigan to the north and Grand Traverse Bay to the south. The point seems to draw the birds (for you bird watchers).
A private sandy area with fire pit is located near the house. A large deck and covered porch overlook the lake.
The beach has pebbles and sand with a bottom of smooth rocks (aqua shoes are recommended).
There are two tandem kayaks that can be used to enjoy the bay.
The home is 'like new' and completely remodeled and painted with 2,500' square feet of living space.
There are three bedrooms and a 'dormitory' plus two sleeper sofas.
The kitchen is new with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher. A gorgeous quartz countertop island with double bowl sink provides a dramatic lake view. The icemaker allows ice to be moved right to your cooler.
A washer and dryer is provided on the main floor for convenience.
All the modern conveniences are provided including cable TV and high speed internet.
To keep you cool there are seven ceiling fans and a 1.25 ton air conditioner upstairs.
The 'double' lot offers 200 feet of private shoreline and access to miles of beach to walk and enjoy.
Just 250 yards south is a private neighborhood park area with 75' of sandy beach and a small creek for the kids to enjoy.
The bay is shallow which makes it great for young children.
The master bedroom is a large loft area and the only room upstairs. It overlooks the family room and dining area (and the lake). It has a private reading area (but no door up there so be discreet). The master bath offers a relaxing whirlpool tub. The second bedroom and den/bedroom are on the main floor. Dormitory sleeping is provided on the lower level in the 'rec room'.
There is a small grocery store with a great deli (and delicious summer BBQ) only 5 minutes away.
Fine dining is available at the nearby Rowe Inn - one of Michigan's most acclaimed restaurants.
There is plenty of parking including space for a boat trailer. There is a boat launch 5 minutes away.
Four season fun includes nearby ski, snowboard, or snowmobiling

We truly enjoyed our family get away at this lake house. It especially makes a great difference when dealing with very nice property owners. Bob was very helpful and attentive. I always appreciate owners who are very responsive to my contacts which gives me peace of mind. The location was great. We visited during winter, but we could see the beach is shallow and wonderful for small kids to swim in the summer. It is the perfect location for the summer. Easy to drive to Charlevoix and other small town for lunch or dinner. Although we could not experience the wonderful summer beach experience, we loved the seclusion of the place during the winter. We just totally enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of the surroundings. There are many ski resorts near by. We absolutely loved Shanty Creek! It is easy 40min drive even in severe snow condition. I’m sure some people chose to stay right at the resort for skiing, but for someone like us who don’t want to ski everyday, it was perfect. It was very nice to have a place to just rewind by the water & ice rather than looking at ski slopes. We loved the skiing one day, rest next, ski the next” and mostly doing nothing in between concept! The house was very clean and very comfortable. We loved the high ceilings everywhere, light wood ceilings and fresh cream paint! The owner must have done a lot of work to keep it in its current condition. It feels like brand new home and it even smelled like it because of whole new cabinets and appliances in the kitchen, which was very spacious and beautiful. The owner has just completely updated the kitchen and we were the first one to use it! Everything worked perfectly - well equipped and it is chef’s dream kitchen. The fast wireless internet connection was especially very nice. We could stream and watch many shows on laptop. Kids had no problem downloading games on their laptops. Outside grill was nice and Xbox was fun for kids. So, all and all, we were 100% satisfied with our stay. Thank you Bob and Bobbie!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

This is the perfect place for a Michigan getaway! The house is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing time in one of the most beautiful and secluded locations...a kitchen stocked with first-class appliances and pans, a grill, great deck, perfect fire pit spot for watching sunsets, comfortable furnishings...we enjoyed every minute! We were treated to two of the most gorgeous sunsets we have ever seen anywhere, a double rainbow, and a pair of eagles on the point. It's perfectly located so we could enjoy day trips to Charlevoix, Elk Rapids, Traverse City, the Leelanau Peninsula, and the Old Mission Peninsula. The owner is incredibly accommodating, and we appreciate everything he did to make our stay so enjoyable! We'll be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What an excellent place, beautiful view, nice location & very convenient to Charlevoix, Elk Rapids or Traverse City. House was fantastic, clean, roomy & had everything you would need. The owner, Bob, was a pleasure to work with & could give you all area highlights. We ate at all the restaurants Bob recommended. Classic Pizza, Tuesday $5 specials at the Blue Pelican, had dinner with friends from Charlevoix at Pearls. All were excellent! Eastport Market had everything you needed but we stopped at Tom's grocery store in Acme on way in. We went knee high wading in the bay out front, searched for petoskey stones & found some, ate a couple meals on the outside deck with a beautiful view, had a beach bonfire & smores. The weather was perfect 70 - 80 degrees. Out of the 7 days we stayed only had 1 rainy day. We worked a jigsaw puzzle on the long dining room table & got a game of scrabble in. Visited my brother one day in Mackinaw City also. The T.C. home tour was FANTASTIC. Already planning to get tickets for 2013 tour. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous home with us. Thank you for allowing us to bring our small dog Daisy along with us to your home. We will definitely be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Great experience. Ive been visiting this part of Michigan for over 30 years now. I highly recommend this location to new comers to the area or experienced Michigan vacation travelers. You wont be disappointed . The owners are honest , caring and thorough addressing your needs as guest at their home. The sweeping views of Grand traverse bay to the south , and the big open blue waters of lake Michigan to the north , complete your visit and reason why you visit this great State. Its centrally located if you prefer a day trip south to Traverse City , spend the day on Torch lake (or area as Alden and Belaire) , or head north to Charlevoix , Boyne City and Petosky , ( We did them all ) and the grocery market is less than 5 minuets away, and your right back to the seclusuion and peace you will find here . The home is very comfortable , spacious , well equiped , updated and very very clean. Grilling on the deck watching the spectacular sunsets , the constant cool air breeze , and the late night fire pits on the beach rounded out every day to enjoy some quiet family time together . O ya , i have to mention falling asleep to the sounds of the waves off of lake Michigan. ......Go and see for yourselves and creat your own memories. We did !Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
