Wonderful cabin, wonderful owners
Wonderful cabin, wonderful owners
Family of 7 and 1 dog stayed at this cabin for a long weekend in November, and we had a great time. We were a little concerned that the cabin might not be safe for our 2 year old, but the deck goes all the way around and the stairs are blocked, so it is very safe if you have small children. The closest town (with grocery store) is Mars Hill, about 20 minutes away, and Asheville is only about 30 minutes away. We went into Asheville twice during our stay and then stayed around the cabin on Sunday to just watch football (they have NFL Direct Ticket, which is a big plus). The cabin is very secluded, and is just what we were looking for. We never used the hot-tub, but it looked nice. The owners are as friendly as can be, and loaned us a few eggs one night when we realized we didn't have everything we needed for dinner! Would definitely stay here again.

Dream Vacation in the Smokys!
Dream Vacation in the Smokys!
My sister and our husbands spent a wonderful week at the peak of the fall colors. The cabin is better than the pictures, spacious and beautiful. We spent almost every evening in front of the fire on the covered deck. The views from almost everywhere in the cabin are so picturesque and the stars are unbelievable! We loved the privacy of the cabin yet trips to Mount Mitchell, Asheville, and the Smoky Mountain National Park were very doable. We loved the hiking right around the area too. My sister and I love to cook and found the beautiful kitchen well equipped. The owners, John and Margaret, are two of the kindest, fun people you will ever meet. Both were always ready to help without being intrusive. We will definitely be back!

This was a getaway for 3 cousins and our husbands. The house is spacious and comfortable. We all had our own space and didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The view is gorgeous! The owners, John & Margaret, are GREAT! If we needed anything, and I do mean anything, all we had to do was call them. We liked them so much, we invited them to have dinner with us the last night we were there. Jude, Rigby and Bruno made it a little easier to be away from our 4 legged kids. The kitchen is fully equipped and easy for more than one person to work in. It's an easy trip into Asheville or any of the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this property for most, however, it isn't wheelchair friendly. Overall, I give this property high marks.

We recommend you refrain from staying here, as it would cut into our possibilities of returning ;). Seriously, we 4 friends had a grand time, and highly recommend this home. Be aware it is remote, but within 20 - 45 min of many day trip options, which was just what we were looking for. The home is as pictured, lovely, and with helpful hosts who live downstairs, but give plenty of privacy. We found it helpful they were on site, as it is remote, and they met any small needs that came up, including getting the hot tub ready. Very nice w/ a sunset mtn view. They do have some small dogs, but we are dog lovers, so not a problem. We enjoyed the outdoor covered deck, including the already prepped wood fireplace, on one cool night. The kitchen is great, though we mostly ate light meals there. The Master bed was very comfortable. If you like having a good view of the stars, cooler temps at a higher elev, and having day trips less than an hour away, this is a great choice.

It was unclear from the listing that the owners live downstairs. Although there were no issues for us, it would be good to make this clear upfront. Home was very nice but probably could use a thorough cleaning of closets, under cabinets, light fixtures which would only be needed once a year or so. The owners were very helpful in answering our questions and provided some very good insite for day trips. The pictures did accurately reflect the property. Hiking to Linville Falls made a great day trip. Asheville also has some great antique stores. I would recommend this property to others.

Accommodating, comfortable, and beautifully located

Everything was perfect about our stay in this beautiful cabin. It is isolated and has a spectacular porch for wonderful views. There was plenty of seating for everyone throughout the inside and outside. Everything is very comfortable and perfectly situated. The owners were incredibly accommodating. They provided the wood for the fires, the took our trash, they even offered more DVDs and toys for the kids if we needed. Having the pool nearby was a great feature as well - the kids loved it. The owners are probably some of the nicest people you'll meet and they are willing to help you out any way they can. I would definitely love to stay here again!!

This was more than we expected. Just a few hours from home, and better than any formal, over-priced hotel experience. This place is unique, and the property is gorgeous, the home has everything you need, is beautifully furnished and well-maintained. It was quiet, far enough away from downtown, but close enough for a day of shopping and dining in downtown Asheville. Can't say enough about the Owners, John and Margaret, they are a classy couple and made us feel totally at home. I found my kindred spirit in Margaret; and my friends and my son, had such an adventure, we will remember for a lifetime. Would recommend to anyone. The price was right and again, the home, the experience, the hospitality, was incredible. Absolutely fabulous!

I can't say enough good things about this property and the owners. Everything inside and outside was perfect. Far enough away from the city but close enough to go for the day. The owners and their pets were the best part of the property. Very gracious hosts and folks we would love to rent from again. They went beyond what would be expected to make the experience for my family the best it could be. Big thank you to our new friends. :)

This cabin has beautiful views of the mountains with vibrant blue hues and stunning colors! Our large party enjoyed the cabin's spacious open floor plan design, large kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, 8 person dining room table, 4 person bar seating, and a comfortable great room with a cozy warm fireplace. The hot tub was always set at the perfect temperature. It was very clean and oh so relaxing! Loved it! We also enjoyed the warm complimentary robes to cover up to and from the hot tub area. We loved eating at Mountain Top Grill located on top of the mountain where the cabin is. We also enjoyed tubing and skiing at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort on Saturday and going into Asheville on Sunday. It was a great winter retreat.
