'Once Upon a Dream' is a beautiful and PRIVATELY situated 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in the gorgeous Douglas Lake Resort community of Sevierville, Tennessee - 15-20 minutes from Dollywood and the town centers of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, and only 30 minutes from Gatlinburg! Enjoy the amenities of the resort, including a private boat launch, walking trails, swimming pool, playground, amphitheater, wildlife observation decks and more! You can unwind at the cabin by playing pool in the loft, rocking in the rocking chairs, and relaxing in the large hot tub! Two new queen sleeper sofas (one downstairs and one in the loft) will accommodate extra guests, while the masters of the house can enjoy a king size bed! Everyone can take pleasure in the fireplace on cold nights! Douglas Lake is a hot spot for fishing, skiing, and swimming, and the cabin’s proximity to all the Smokies has to offer is hard to compare! So bring your sweetheart, and/or the kids and come make the memories of a lifetime!
TAKE NOTE: at ONCE UPON A DREAM, you have both a beautiful lake AND the mountains! Also, the cabin is not squeezed beside other cabins, like you would find in many 'resorts.' Douglas Lake Resort has a neighborhood atmosphere with loads of beautiful trees, and 'Once Upon a Dream' has a BREATHTAKING MOUNTAIN VIEW from the front porch. You will have a 'MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE' not just a 'CABIN EXPERIENCE.'

Spring break with the teens
Spring break with the teens

The kids and I went during spring break. We all LOVED the cabin. I was worried the trees would be in their winter state and the view wouldn't be as gorgeous as in the pictures. It was early April and very beautiful! There are enough pine trees around the house to make it pretty, green, and private. There are houses pretty close but it still felt private. We enjoyed the hot tub in the cold air, the fireplace that is not smokey, and the pool table. We liked the cabin so much, we didn't care so much about the sightseeing. We went to Gatlinburg which was crazy crowded (hard to drive through) and most things overpriced. Sevierville was closer. The cabin is clean and well equipped. I noticed it says you can park an RV there..I don't think that would be possible at the house. I'm not sure if they mean at a nearby location. The owner is very kind and helpful and checked in on us. We would love to go back sometime. My teenagers loved this vacation because of the cabin, the views, and all the things to do..rain or shine.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Charlene, Thank you for your kind and thorough review. I have clarified the detatils about RV parking on our listing - thank you for calling that to my attention! The cabin is a great place for the family to "connect." Please come again when you can! Sonya

It was a pleasure to find the lights on for our night time arrival. The cabin was extremely clean and quiet!! We had a relaxing few days!! The fall colors were amazing!!! The location was wonderful - away from all of the crowds!! We highly recommend this cabin!!! Hopefully, we will be able to have a return visit!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: Chris & Tammy, I'm so glad you had a good time. Thank you for your kind words. We feel that it is the perfect location: away from all the noise & crowds, but a short drive to everything. The next time you come we will have a swing on the porch so you can enjoy the view while swinging with your loved one!

I was happy with the cabin over all.It was just as the pictures portrayed it to be. It was extremely clean and had all of the comforts of home! I would love to see a Bible there the next time I visit. But it was no problem for me I just read it on my Kindle Fire. The owner was very helpful. We drove through Cades Cove down late in the evening and got to see some huge bucks and 3 bears!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you. We hope you can come back again soon! A couple of Bibles and several other books will be there next week! We failed to bring them while there during the summer.

We had a wonderful weekend with dear friends and family!! The cabin was beautiful, better than we could have expected. It was much larger than I expected as well, with two fold out couches as well as the two very good size bedrooms. Everything was so clean and nice and new!! You all were very helpful and great to work with. It was very easy to find and to get to. Not a far drive at all to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Our kids had a blast in the loft with the pool table and it was such a beautiful view to have morning coffee on the porch! Thanks again for sharing your home with us!! I definetly recommend it to anyone!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much, Julie. We're so glad you loved it as we do! You are right - having your morning coffee with the view is wonderful! We're glad you got to relax and have little fun. Hope you can come again!

My family and I had a wonderful experience staying at this cabin. It was very clean and well kept. Beautiful view from the balcony! All the comforts of home plus some added bonuses. We had everything we needed to cook or grill at the cabin, wash our clothes (if needed) or just relax before heading out to the areas attractions. The hot tub was very nice to relax in at the end of the day. The property owner was very helpful with everything we needed and they were not hard to get ahold of. The cabin is not far from local shops, attractions, pool, grocery store, etc. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. I'm so thankful for the great time my family and I had. We were very blessed by all of God's scenery.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Christy & Matt, we are glad your stay was blessed, and I hope you get to come back again soon! Thank you for your kind words - you were our very first renters!

We had a great time in your cabin. Beautiful location with great views. This cabin has so much to offer with a huge hot tub and a full size pool table. Was a perfect blend of seclusion yet close to Pigeon Forge. Douglas Lake is so beautiful and relaxing. The cabin was just as beautiful as described. We look forward to our next visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Parker, we are so glad you liked it and hope you can go back soon. Thanks for the tip about Clint's BBQ! We will try it the next time we are up there!

My first experience with VROB and I would definately use it again. I liked being able to talk to the owner, it gave me that personal feeling that I was visiting friends. The cabin was very clean and "homey". The pictures of the view and cabin were as listed. The cleaning team had the lights on, the hot tub ready to go and it was so relaxing to sit on the porch and look at the mountains. It did not seem like a rental, I would recommend it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for staying with us; you are always welcome to return to Once Upon A Dream! We, too, like making new friends through VRBO!

About the owner: Todd and Sonya Stearns reside in Naples, Florida, about five minutes from the beach. Dr. Stearns is the Associate Pastor of Worship at the First Baptist Church of Naples, and Sonya is the high school choir director and speech teacher at First Baptist Academy. Both earned Bachelor of Arts Degrees from the University of Mobile, in Mobile, Alabama. Todd completed his Masters in Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas, and received his Doctorate of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. They have three children, Victoria, 17, Christiana, 15, William, 13, and 2 beloved 'babies' (pomeranians), Tiffany and Raffiki.
Why the Owner Chose Sevierville:
'Once Upon a Dream' is the fruition of a 20+ year dream. After honeymooning in Gatlinburg in 1988, we vacationed in Pigeon Forge and surrounding area whenever we could, discovering Lake Douglas in 2000. Through God's unexpected blessing and provision, we have been able to purchase this, our 'cabin in the woods' - named for the theme song from the timeless Disney Classic, Sleeping Beauty. We love to relax in the rockers and have our morning coffee, but we also love the hustle and bustle of the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge dining, shopping, and shows. 'Once Upon a Dream' allows for both. Since we live in sandy and flat southwest Florida, the mountain surroundings are a thrilling change! We delight in the magnificent variety of God's creation.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
THE VIEW from the front porch is 'to die for.' Having another view from the loft - one of the lake - is very unique! Although our cabin is part of a neighborhood, our property is very private, with trees giving us a boundary between our nearest neighbor. The Douglas Lake Resort community's amenities mixed with its close proximity to all the activities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville can't be beat.
