This lovely country cottage on a full acre was remodeled and fully renovated in 2012. Has all the modern conveniences while preserving the classic country charm. Open-plan great room has pine walls, vaulted ceiling with skylights, ceiling fan and picture windows with wooded views. Living room area includes HDTV, cable TV and DVD player, and sleep sofa. Dining area connects to screened porch for additional outside dining, and is open to beautiful all-new kitchen featuring glass-top range, granite countertops, microwave, dishwasher and all the usual small appliances. Down the hall are two pine-paneled bedrooms (one with queen bed and one with two twins) and new bathroom with tub. Off the screened porch was a third bedroom with two twins and adjacent half bath, which are being renovated this winter into a master bedroom suite with full bath and AC. Concealed washer and dryer are in the queen bedroom. House is located in the Beachwood private community on Stockbridge Bowl, five minute walk to the private sandy beach and just five minutes drive to Tanglewood.
Just minutes from Lenox and historic Stockbridge, cultural attractions abound: Tanglewood, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Barrington Stage Company, Shakespeare and Company, Capitol Steps, Jacob’s Pillow. Historic mansions on view include Frelinghuysen-Morris House (our favorite) as well as Naumkeag, Chesterwood and Edith Wharton’s home at The Mount. Also near the Norman Rockwell Museum, Cranwell, Kripalu, loads of antique shops, spas and fitness centers, the Lee outlet village and wonderful restaurants in every direction. There are beautiful scenic drives as well as hikes of all difficulty levels, including parts of the Appalachian Trail. In the fall, there's apple picking and fall foliage.
The house comes with wireless internet, linens, towels, dishes, pots and pans, utensils, pretty much everything we could think of that you might need. There's a fan in every room and a big ceiling fan in the great room; the new master will have AC. Also, we'll be just up the road and happy to provide anything we may have forgotten.

Why the Owner Chose Stockbridge:
Our family has vacationed in the Berkshires for over thirty years, and we have been in the Beachwood community since 1995. Our kids loved the beach and we were there every day when they were young; this house is a 5 min. walk (or less) to the beach. We bought this house in 2011 because it had tons of country cottage charm in a great location, and in a community we love. Although it needed complete renovation and remodeling we welcomed the challenge. We think you'll find it comfortable and a great place to relax and unwind.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
All the modern conveniences with country charm. Easy drive to NYC (about 3 hours) and Boston (about 2 hours). Lovely, short walk to the private beach. We drive to Tanglewood but some from this community walk. All the cultural and natural attractions you could want within easy driving. We've put some books, games, DVD's and puzzles in the house and can bring more - we're only a 5 min. walk away.
