The "BEAR'S DEN IN BOONE" is one of the few conveniently located homes in rural Boone with handy access to neighboring towns and activities.

This NON-SMOKING 2BR cabin, built in 1999 is at 3200 ft. elevation and nestled away in a canyon protected from the winter winds while cooler in the summer months. With the Boone area growing warmer each summer you'll be glad there is CENTRAL AIR to insure the comfort you are looking for. The home is situated on fifteen private acres overlooking 1400 ft. of Grassy Creek. You'll be close to all the conveniences of a vacation and college town, home of the Appalachian State University Division II Champions The Mountaineers. All that is needed is a toothbrush and change of clothes.

Easy year-round access on state maintained paved roads, with a 600+ foot winding gravel driveway. Only 1/3mi. to the New River. Hike around the property that is gated off from the rest of the world, enjoy the wildlife that will cross your driveway from time to time (sorry, NO HUNTING PERMITTED on property), have a barbeque, eat at the picnic tables provided, try your luck at catching a fish in Grassy Creek or just wade in the water. Rock the day away on one of the 5 wooden rocking chairs overlooking the creek.

Don't worry about arriving late, arrangements can be made for the essentials you plan for to be there when you arrive. There's something for everyone and everything needed for a relaxing time is at the Bear's Den from rocking chairs to checkers, porch swing to games on the porch, picnic basket for your picnic on or off the property, crock pot meals you prepare to dinner being prepared by a chef in the kitchen (at an additional fee) and set on your table, inside or on the porch for you to enjoy. High chair, port-a-crib, bed safety rails and gate for the porch are already at the house to help make your stay safer for the little ones.

With Boone's population of approximately 13,500 you will enjoy the nearby conveniences and entertainment for all. Grocery store (Lowes Foods) only 10 min. away. Something for everyone to do, hike the Appalachian Trail (20 min. away), see the story of Daniel Boone in the outdoor theatre(10 min), mine for precious gems(20 min) or spend the day at Tweetsie Railroad(20 min) with the kids . Travel the Blue Ridge Parkway (10 min) and stop off to enjoy Grandfather Mountain(30 min), Price Lake/Park or Moses Cone(25 min). Shopping in downtown Boone(10 min) offers several antique stores, quaint restaurants and the famous Mast General Store. Todd General Store in Todd (10 min), where Story hour and Blue Grass Festivals take place throughout the year. Sit around the potbelly fireplace and chat with the locals, enjoying homemade pizza. Ski, snow board or ice skate at Appalachian Ski Resort. The Outlets in Blowing Rock are only 25 minutes away with mainstreet Blowing Rock just around the corner.
