Can't Wait to Return
Our family rents a house every summer in the Tahoma/Homewood area and this year was our best experience yet at the Carroll Cabin! The one story layout is perfect for a family with young children and older family members as well (we had both). The fenced yard is great and allows the kids to play outside without us having to worry about them. Great home in great location! Can't wait for next year's trip!

Perfect cabin for a ski trip
Perfect cabin for a ski trip
This is the fourth cabin I rented in the homewood ski resort area and so far the best! Spacious, clean, beautiful, with unbeatable price! We have three families with 12 person, stayed comfortably for 5 nights. We found everything we need there. The heater worked very fast, heating up the whole house quickly. Nice fireplace with plenty plenty of logs, there's a wall of logs outside the cabin. The room that my daughter and I stayed has the most comfortable bed, very relaxing. The older kids love the bunk beds. There are plenty of beds and space for everyone. It's only 5 minutes drive to homewood. We can come back to have lunch and take a quick break at noon. Although not a very big ski resort, we love homewood for the following reasons: most other resorts require around 30 minute's drive from the lodge and has no views, while homewood has spectacular view of lake tahoe; its price of lift-ticket and kid's ski school is also among the lowest. So we ski during daytime, watch movies on the flat-screen TV (we brought an apple-TV) at night. There's also board games for the kids in the cabin. Plus the owner is responsive and very nice. I'd highly recommend this cabin! We'll definitely come back for the next season!

I have stayed at this cabin twice this season with another family. We all love it for the following reasons: clean, spacious, comfortable, remodeled kitchen and bathrooms and plenty of parking. Also, the owner is VERY responsive and helpful. He gave us many useful tips and responded to our requests immediately. This means a lot to us. I would highly recommend this cabin.

I would definitely recommend staying here!!
I would definitely recommend staying here!!
I would definitely recommend staying here!! Enough rooms for everyone to entertain themselves. This cabin is spacious and offers all of the aesthetics you’d expect from a stay in Tahoe, beautiful trees, gorgeous landscaping, a patio fit for a very nice barbeque, and a fireplace for a cozy relaxing evening. The kitchen is spacious with an open layout with designer dishes, extra pots and pans, pantry for food supplies, and a dishwasher for those who don’t want to wash by hand. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 of which have bunk beds & full bed combos. But, my favorite was the master bedroom, which has a skylight and an adjoining custom bathroom with shower. The natural wood interior lends to the rustic feel of the cabin. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The cabin is well maintained and did I mention spacious and a Perfect distance for a scenic drive through Emerald Bay, The Casino, and a if you want to go rafting, this is along the way as well. The cabin has a beautiful Fireplace, and Furnace so keeping warm is not an issue. It is in a great quiet neighborhood and very peaceful and it has bear boxes for trash. I highly recommend the this Cabin for your stay here in Lake Tahoe. We all want to go again!!

About the owner: My brother and I grew up in Palo Alto,Ca, attending Gunn High School and now live in San Jose and Sacramento. Both of us have kids that are really no longer kids, all into their 20's and 30's. We have always enjoyed coming to Lake Tahoe and getting out with the family on camping trips. We are looking forward to passing the beauty and magic of the Lake Tahoe onto others who come up and use the cabin with their family and friends.
Why the Owner Chose Tahoma:
We looked at a LOT of properties and settled on this cabin for it's charm, the easy access (no stairs or hills to climb) the fenced in yard for kids, the wooded property of pines and aspens, the seasonal stream out back, and the convenience of Tahoma being secluded from the activity of Tahoe City, yet right by skiing and hiking and the lake.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
This cabin was built in 1964 and easy to love. The soft pine floors and stone work throughout gives it a great charm that sets off the open nature of the design and natural lighting aided by skylights. The kitchen area is very open and large that makes it the natural gathering place to talk, cook, and entertain. The adjacent living room makes it the floor plan very open and inviting for everyone to be together and not feel cramped. We have recently added a TV with satellite access for those who want to check on the latest football game or other event, but with all of the natural beauty around you in the Tahoma and Lake Tahoe area, its nice to concentrate on enjoying the company of friends and family members, playing games, and spending more time talking to each other. Just try it! This property is perfect for enjoying nature in the backyard, playing horseshoes, or visiting the lake or hiking in the nearby national forest. It is conveniently located near Chambers Landing Beach, Bar and Grill and the PDQ store and deli in Tahoma.
