We used Cherry Grove Plantation as a jumping point for our travels to historic Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg, as well as Busch Gardens. Our children had an absolute blast playing in the outdoors while we were at the Plantation house, too! This property was perfect for our large party, and the property manager even arranged beds for us prior to our stay. We had a single question during our stay, and were given a prompt answer, as well! The kitchen is extremely well appointed, to include a top of the line grill! No expense has been spared this wonderful house and grounds, and the pictures barely give you a glimpse of that luxury. For example, the quilts on the bed are period correct antiques, there are silk shades, and the stained glass in the home is beyond words. We are so very glad we chose this house to rent for our vacation! We made many fond memories here with our friends and family! We look forward to seeing this home again, and would definitely recommend to other history buffs!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Exquisite!! We chose the Cherry Grove Plantation to host our son's wedding party 8 groomsman, and our family, and as the location for the rehersal dinner. The decor was amazing, like staying in a museum. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and there was room for everyone. The kitchen and extra fridge space were perfect for helping to cook and serve countless meals. The hot tub, pool table, along with the movie room, were so great the guys decided to hold the bachelor party there as well. The front lawn was perfect for the tent, and when we added lights in the trees, it was idyllic. The rehersal dinner was perfect, as was the wedding after party the next day. We did have to give house tours to the guests who came for the dinners, who fell in love with the place as well. The boys all decided that we should all come back for our son's first anniversay. As wonderful as the place is, Mindy, the property manager made things beyond perfect. She was extremely helpful, before, during and after our trip. She was gracious, informative, and very responsive to any question, and any need that arose. There are not enough words to express just what a positive experience this was. It was more than a house, for a few days it was home. I lcannot wait to go back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I would rate the "Cherry Grove Plantation" **10** stars if I could, as it was such an amazing experience for both my family and our overall group! Our visit was absolutely incredible-- from start to finish. Our group included 3 families (with kids of all ages), and there was plenty to keep everyone happy! The accommodations were truly luxurious (like staying at the finest Inn!) with lush linens, beautiful antiques, brand-new SS appliances & top-quality fixtures. The home, itself, has been meticulously restored by the friendly owners (who also live nearby on the property) and is an absolute masterpiece. The other outbuildings (including a restored barn) house an antique pool table, 2 W/D's & 4 extra refrigerators. The attached, outdoor pool was just perfect for our kids to cool-off during the hot summer... Very fun! Everything is either beautiful & antique-- or brand-new. Nothing has been overlooked. Outside, the grounds are spectacular-- offering tons of privacy & an abundance of nature. Just a short walk down a path leads to a beautiful new (of course!) wood pier on the river, where our group also enjoyed many hours of peaceful fishing & bird-watching. There are also 2 (new!) canoes for guests to use... which are very fun. The Plantation's caretaker (a very sweet woman named Mindy) also lives on the property (in a separate outbuilding) & was incredibly responsive to any questions or needs that we had throughout our stay. By the end of our stay, we all felt like family... and hated to leave. Overall, we could not have been more pleased... an absolutely magical getaway. I would highly recommend it to anyone-- perfect for families, reunions, large groups, business outings, etc. Truly fantastic!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
