About the owner: Our family lives a few miles away, along the same stretch of the north san diego beaches Many people consider this area to be one of the best places in the world-we agree. For the serious surfers -You will find at least 50 well-known breaks within 2 to 20 minutes from the cottage.
Why the Owner Chose Cardiff by the Sea:
We purchased this property an owner who had owned it 30 years wanted to sell it to a family that would appreciate the home's unique style and history. This was originally a farmhouse in the early 1920's, when this entire region was all rural. (This area was once known as the flower-growing capital of the world.) As Cardiff became more populated, the farmland was sold, and this became a family home. Then, in the late 1970's to the early 1980's, a bunch of surfers and college boys resided here, and this place was known all though the North County area as 'The Animal House'. To this day, we run into people who have had a past history (and some very colorful stories), of partying at this house! We love the cozy town of Cardiff, and we love the sunny location of this house at the top of a hill. being a part of this community is very special to us. Someday, we might make this our own home, but for now, we want to give you the joy of experiencing its pleasures!

Beach cottage atmosphere, board-and-batten walls, original wood floors and ceilings, interesting textures, colors, and finishes. Stone pathways meander to the front door, past colorful plants. There is an unobstructed view of the ocean from the front yard that we just love! The house is light, dry and sunny.
