This cozy 4 bedroom 2 bath home sits atop a hill on 3 acres in the quiet village of Wells River, VT (population ~500) along the New Hampshire border. Surrounded by nature and the Connecticut River, you'll quickly find the home and the area relaxing. This is a perfect location for those looking to enjoy fall foliage surrounded by the beautiful fall colors.
We recently renovated this 2 story home which was built in the 1920's. The home features and updated kitchen with brand new appliances, granite counter tops, and hardwood floors throughout. The rest of the main floor includes a formal dining area and 2 living rooms with televisions and with chimneys that open up to a screened in porch which is perfect for enjoying nature while sipping coffee or wine. Also on the main floor are 2 bedrooms each with queen size beds and 1 full bath.
Upstairs there are 2 additional bedrooms with the first having a twin trundle bed which can be used as 2 twin beds or put together to make a king size bed. Down the hall, there's an additional bedroom with a queen size bed and another 1 full bathroom.
Each bathroom has claw foot tubs that were original the home and perfect for soaking. If you're not into baths, no worries, the tubs also include a stand-up shower.
In the basement, there is a washer and dryer, and renters have access to equipment such as children's bikes, tubes and tents.
Outside enjoy the fire pit, tree swings, picnic table, or play a game of badminton. For those looking to enjoy nature even more, feel free to use the air mattresses and sleep on the porch or set up the tent anywhere on the 3 acre property.
On a typical day, you'll see chipmunks, a variety of birds, and deer on the property. Occasionally, you may spy a fox or moose as well.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: This was my grandparent's home when they retired in the 1970's. I remember going up there as a child to visit and feeling a sense of magic and charm with the home and nature. I purchased the home in January 2012 and have renovated it to bring out it's beauty once again.
Why the Owner Chose Newbury:
The home and area are very charming and bring you back to the sense of simpler times. With the many rivers, mountains, trees, and nature all around, it's easy to sit back and enjoy. I'm also the adventurous type and found the home perfectly located to access nature's adventures like rafting, swimming, and hiking, as well as being close to more modern adventures like zip lining, atv riding, and amusement parks.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Enjoy the home all year round with swimming and other fun summer activities, foliage viewing during the fall, skiing and ice skating in the winter, and flowers blooming in the spring.
