Loved this cabin! The views were incredible with the wrap around deck. Enjoyed sitting in the rockers in in the early morning drinking coffee and relaxing. The cabin was decorated beautifully and the furniture and beds were very comfy. My husband likes a recliner and he had his choice with the chair, loveseat, and sofa all reclining. The upstairs loft was very private which was great - no one can see the person sleeping up there . Having the door to close off the downstairs was a bonus so you did not wake up people down there when I got up early. Location was great - got my private mountain retreat but still close to drive to eat and see sites. Hope to be able to go back when I have can stay longer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

After hours of scouring internet and endless options, this cabin was probably the best we could have went with. My family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the luxury, comfort and views of cabin were half of reason for this vacation. Having 2 levels for living space was great, though we mainly stayed on one level as it had all we needed. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the details in decorating could tell the owners took much pride in this cabin. As far as views.. due to fact the porch wrapped around and could see amazing views from several directions (hot tub smack dab in middle of it all) made it especially breathtaking. Also, we enjoyed staying in the quaint Wears Valley, versus right out of Pigeon Forge, and were still only about 5 miles from major attractions. I hope we have opportunity to stay here again. I imagine when trees are in full bloom it's even more beautiful if that's possible.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Absolutely awesome!!! Much more than we expected. Cabin was much nicer than pictures show. The view is one of the best. It snowed the 1st night & that was really beautiful. We would definitely stay here again... & again... & again... The surrounding neighbors fireworks on New Year's Eve were excellent too!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Most places you stay end up looking not quite as nice as the pictures on the web. This one was nicer. It was well appointed, comfortable, and had everything you needed down to the smallest detail. Our family of four, with two teens, was quite pleased. The view was gorgeous, as advertised, and I so enjoyed my hot tea each day in the rocker on the deck looking out at the mountains. The owners are easy to work with, gave wonderful directions, excellent suggestions, and left an awesome hiking trail book for us to borrow. It was great to be able to slip into the Park the back way and avoid traffic. It was a delightful stay. And I am picky!! My only suggestion is that if you want to sleep later and need a dark room, bring a blackout curtain as the blinds don't keep it very dark.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just got back from our favorite family vacation so far!! Cabin was easy to get to. Is about a 10 minute drive or so into town, but for us that was fine, we live at least 30 min from town. Cabin was just like pics clean, cozy, beds super comfy. Enjoyed moonlit nights over looking the mountainside in the hot tub and on porch. Linda was easy to work with and answered all questions that we had. She also gave us some back ways into pigeon forge so we could miss the traffic and get either to the middle part of town or completely to light 10. That helped too. Our kids are young 7,7,4, and 1. They all loved the cabin and we felt safe with the porch and having a little more yard. Some of the cabins are straight off the hill side this sits back a lttle bit. We did the Dixie stampede, Aquarium, and the trail to falls behind the sugarlands visitor center. Rode the Ober Gatlinburg Tram, and Roaring Fork Auto Tour. Never saw a bear. Ate at Moonshine Cafe not far from the cabin, 5 guys (awesome burgers). would have love to try the mellow mushroom, but just didnt make it! Grocery store is just on the edge of town before heading out to the cabin. Would recommend to anyone who wants the best of both worlds.. mountain views, fresh air, peace and quiet, but not too far from town and all the excitment.Did you find this review helpful? Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We both grew up in the Washington DC area where we went to school and spent our entire working careers. We have 2 sons, 2 granddaughters and 2 great-grandchildren, all still in the Washington area. In 2004 we retired and moved to Florida. After a couple of years, we started coming up to the Smokies for vacations, first in an RV, then as renters. We loved it here so much, we started looking to buy. We looked for over two years, in both North Carolina and Tennessee, ultimately buying here in Wears Valley.
Why the Owner Chose Wears Valley:
Once you find Wears Valley, you wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the Smokies; beautiful, scenic, uncongested, and quiet. We came upon this property in 2009 and immediately fell in love with the VIEW. In the Smokies, it's all about the views.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
There are a lot of cabins for rent in the Smokies, but not a lot with this view. It is truly breathtaking. Everyone who walks onto our deck says, 'WOW'!!!! We see across the entire Wears Valley floor into the Smokies. We are conveniently located 5 miles from Pigeon Forge where you'll find outlet malls, restaurants, Dollywood, Splash Mountain, shows, amusement rides, music venues but we are outside the high volume of traffic. We have a back way down to Gatlinburg (we'll leave you directions) that avoids the traffic in Pigeon Forge. Wears Valley has a back entrance into the Smoky Mountain National Park avoiding the traffic in Gatlinburg. We are located 10 minutes from Townsend where you'll find horseback riding, river tubing (so much fun), antique shopping, Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, and the Tuckaleechee Caverns. There are numerous zip lines in the area. There is just so much to do here that even the teenagers won't be bored!!
Across the mountain in North Carolina, you'll find the town of Cherokee with a casino, numerous shopping and sightseeing venues, and a little farther out the Nantahala Outdoor whitewater rafting area.
Wildlife seen at our cabin include turkeys, birds of all varieties, squirrels, rabbits, turtles, chipmunks, bears, and a crazy peacock.
