Have you ever searched for something your whole life only to wake up one day and realize that what you were looking for was right in front of you all along? Such was the case with the owner of Paradise Found. Having grown up in Destin in the years before condominiums and Dolphin Cruises, he left home as soon as he was able, perusing the Caribbean and Florida looking for paradise. After 20 years of searching, he woke up one day and realized paradise was right in front of him all along. So he high-tailed it back to Destin, built this house and filled it with the treasures of his travels.
From the moment you pull your car up to this Key West style house and park your car on the cobblestone drive way which leads through the breezeway overlooking you own private dock, you will realize that you too have indeed found paradise. Even though the house is just a short stroll from the beach, you may want to find your own private beach because our three boat slips can accommodate boats up to 40 feet. The 600 square foot sundeck covers two of the boat slips; one with a lift for a run about and the other slip contains two PWC lifts.
Paradise Found has three finely appointed bedrooms and one guest efficiency that altogether sleeps up to 18 people. The guest efficiency located on the ground floor with its own deck, swinging chair, and view of the slips is a great place to unwind after a day of fishing or boating. The old Destin photographs and Rodeo memorabilia make it a perfect place to unwind with a cold one while you talk about the one that got away and then step out to the cleaning station and clean the one that did not.
Upstairs on the second floor the bamboo flooring is a great compliment to the St. Augustine great room. The large cathedral ceilings and custom Anderson windows give you spectacular views of the water below. Stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a gourmet 6 burner stove will excite the chef in your party who will be delighted to grill up your catch of the day on the gas grill deck side. A separate under the counter ice maker for stocking your coolers for a day at the beach or out on the water will come in very handy for keeping your drinks cold.
Moving back into the Sanibel Island Master bedroom, complete with private balcony, you will be lulled into a sense of utopia with the cool colors and white linens in this bedroom. The master bathroom with its garden Jacuzzi tub and separate shower will become of a playground of sorts when you dim the lights of the chandelier hanging above the tub.
Relax and watch a movie as the TV located in the master bathroom is connected to the TV in the master bedroom so you never miss any part of the movie. After you pry yourself out of the tub, there is plenty of room to get ready at the separate vanities for your night at one of the many fabulous restaurants located close by.
Moving upstairs to the third floor you will find the other two bedrooms. One dedicated to the charm of Seaside with a queen bed , has Gulf views and a view of the jetties. This Seaside room, which has a walk in closet and its own vanity, shares a bathroom with the Key West room. This bright and colorful room is complete with bunk beds and a trundle and games for the kids; a perfect hang out for them until exhaustion takes over and they fall asleep.
Paradise Found is located on exclusive Holiday Isle, which is away from all the traffic Destin is becoming famous for. The way to stay out of the traffic is to bring your own boat (or rent one from of the many boat vendors in the area), because Paradise Found is situated on a canal leading to the famous Destin Harbor.
With your own boat you could frequent one of the many restaurants located on the Destin Harbor. The East Jetty is within walking distance and contains a very quiet beach, great for children who might be intimidated by the rough surf at the beach as well as the finest snorkeling in the county.
For more space, rent this with its sister house vrbo #167918 to sleep up to 35 people, park up to 10 cars and moor up to 4 boats. Receive special discount for renting both houses. |
