Villa Sana is perfectly located 11 miles southwest of Austin and about 5 minutes away from the quaint Hill Country town of Dripping Springs. The 5 bedroom, 3 bath, 2400sqft home sits on a private 3 acre country lot with imposing Texas live oaks and native landscaping. The spring months find the property knee deep in bluebonnets.
The home is beautifully appointed and easily accommodates extended families and large groups of friends. The open plan Living/Dining/Kitchen Great Room makes entertainment a breeze and the party can easily flow out onto the porches and decks. Enjoy a family meal on the back porch at sunset then move to the firepit deck for some campfire songs. In the morning, sip your coffee while bird-watching from the gazebo. Head into town for some city culture or just spend the day reading in the hammock under the oak trees.
A portion of the profits from this vacation rental are donated to the non-profit organization, La Via Sana.
There is also a large 1 room casita with a kitchenette and a full bathroom on the property. This little house sleeps an additional 2 people in a Queen size pull out couch. Use of the casita is included in the rental of the main house. The casita is also available for rent as a stand alone unit separate from the rental of the main house. However, it is only available for stand-alone rental when the main house is not booked. To be clear, if you have booked the main house, you are guaranteed that no other party will have booked the casita during your stay.

Perfect for our family of eight!

This spacious home was perfect for our family of eight. There is plenty of room outside for frisbee and soccer, and the quiet streets are nice for bike riding. We relaxed in the hot tub beneath the spreading oak trees. A bonus: some of the proceeds support the nonprofit Via Sana. We plan to return again next year.Did you find this review helpful? House is really nice! Our family stayed here for an out of town wedding and we had a great time! We hosted a BBQ and used the charcoal grill area out back. It went very well, and we got compliments on the place! There was more room than we needed, but when is that a problem? The managers were very helpful and courteous. They even let us check out late since it wasn't rented the day after us. As far as the sulphur smell, when we first got there, it was very noticeable, but then we ran the water for a little bit with the bathroom door shut and the window open and we didn't notice it much after that, maybe we were used to it, i dunno. Anyway, it wasn't an issue in the end. We did shower in that water no problem. They have a special spout for filtered water in the kitchen, so having good tasting clean drinking water is not a problem.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Villa Sana was beautiful! We, the bridal party, and our families stayed here for the weekend. We would definately recommend it! Not too far from town and very quiet and peaceful. We had a little miscommunication about our arrival time but all worked out in the end. The description about the 5 bedrooms is a little misleading because the 5th bedroom is actually the study with a futon bed. OK for kids but not adults as the futon is very hard and uncomfortable. The casita outback has a fold-out couch with a kitchenette and bath. We did not use this though. We did encounter some scorpians and one did crawl in a suitcase and someone was stung. This happened right after we read the scorpian warning in the welcome packet. So we all made sure our suitcases were off the floor and made the approprate precautions. No other incidences occured. Overall, it is a great place to stay and we would come back.Owner response: Yes, as we note in the welcome package, Villa Sana really, truly is in the Texas countryside which means wildlife encounters of all varieties. On the plus side, the bird watching is superb and you're very likely to see deer, raccoons, foxes, etc. On the downside, in the hot, dry Texas summers, scorpions arrive seeking water sources. To clarify, Texas scorpions, unlike those of the Arizona desert regions are absolutely non-venomous and no real danger to humans. They do sting and the sting hurts like a son-of-a-gun for a few moments and then fades quickly. Oddly, the sting is much lessened by applying Crest toothpaste and the house is always stocked with a big tube of Crest! Basically, a little precautionary shaking out of shoes and keeping suitcases off the floor is needed at any Texas Hill Country property in the summer.

Loved the house. Hated the smell of the water in the back bathroom and killed 6 scorpions in the house! We went to get a blanket in the hall closet and it had some kind of animal/insect droppings on it. Otherwise, the house was clean and Lauren was great at answering my calls in a very timely manor. We felt very much "at home."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was not just a house but a home. We were so sad to leave. Everything we needed was there. Dinner on the back porch was incredible. There was always a breeze and shade. Lots of room for everyone to be comfortable and the kitchen was amazing to cook in. We were there for our son's wedding and all the groomsmen stayed there. What memories we made!! Thank you so much for opening your home to us!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I highly recommend Villa Sana if you are planning a stay in hill country. As my daughter put it when she saw the place "I've died and gone to country heaven". The house was lovely and beautifully decorated. It was clean, fresh and well appointed with everything we needed. There was plenty of room to accommodate our visiting family and they all loved the picturesque setting. The casita worked out well for a visiting friend that joined us. The back patio is the perfect place to unwind from the rush of city life. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. I would recommend Villa Sana without hesitation to anyone contemplating a stay at this lovely home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great time. The house is a bit secluded, but privacy was important as well. Our experience was terrific for our family gathering. The home felt as if we had arrived home. Thank you again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I moved to San Diego from Texas three years ago, and we rented Villa Sana to have a reunion with our dear friends. It was a perfect place for reconnecting. This property has a wonderful porch and backyard perfect for lounging, eating and enjoying big shade trees. Villa Sana also had a lovely open floor plan which makes it easy for those in the kitchen to chat with everyone in the living area. A couple of young children were part of our group and they enjoyed discovering the fun children's games and books tucked away in the living room and the den. At night we enjoyed star gazing and spotted a few shooting stars! Several members of our group are mental health professionals, so knowing that part of our rental fee was donated to a non-profit mental health organization made our stay even more meaningful. I feel confident saying that everyone would give Villa Sana 5 stars!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

The house and property exceeded our expectations. Everything was as advertized, well maintained, clean and was ready for our group. Location was perfect, close to Salt Lick BBQ, and only 15 - 20 minutes to Austin. Our multi-family group would definitely rent this property again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
