New York City has an aura of its own that is unmatched by any other city in the world. It is not just the melting pot of cultures due to its high number of immigrant population but also a center of fashion, arts, movies, theatre, finance and commerce. If you are planning a visit to the Big Apple then do not miss visiting these places.

Nyc Map Overview and Subway Map

Times Square:

Is the heart of Manhattan and its entertainment hub. The theatre district of Broadway is nearby and there are many cinemas, restaurants, shopping malls and parks. You will need to spend at least one evening to capture the essence of this place.

Metropolitan Museum of Art:

Probably the most popular museum in New York City, the Met holds a treasure trove of artifacts, paintings and sculptures, among other items. You will be dazzled with the history that exudes from every column of this museum. Also, the Museum of Modern Art and the American Museum of Natural History are very popular tourists’ spots along with the Guggenheim Museum which is an ever-growing institution devoted to the art of the 20th century and beyond.

Central Park:

Is the heart of Manhattan and provides you with the essential breathing space. You can laze around; enjoy boating in the lake or watch public performances in the open air theatre. Frequently displayed and referenced in popular films and television shows, Central Park is arguably one of the most famous parks in the world. According to the Central Park Conservancy, more than 35 million people a year visit the park, which is located in Central Manhattan. Central Park measures 843 acres and six miles around and includes seven bodies of water, lawns and wooded areas. The park is open year-round. Available activities include playgrounds, bicycling, baseball and bird watching. Common tourist destinations within the park include Belvedere Castle, Charles A. Dana Discovery Center and the Conservatory Garden.

Empire State Building:

Since opening in 1931, the Empire State Building has received 120 million visitors, according to NYC Tourist. A world-renowned fixture of New York City's skyline, the 1,453-foot skyscraper is located on Fifth Avenue and 34th Street in midtown Manhattan. The skyscraper features observatories on the 86th floor and the 102nd floor. Glass-enclosed high-speed elevators lead up to the outdoor promenades around the building where visitors can use high-powered binoculars. No visit to New York City is complete without ascending the 102 stories of the Empire State Building. There is a large viewing deck on the top that offers commanding views of all five boroughs and the neighbor state of New Jersey.

East Village/Gramercy:

This trendy Manhattan area is filled with chic art galleries, night club hotspots, world-famous restaurants, shopping and museums, public displays and theaters. Spend an afternoon strolling the local neighborhoods and attractions such as Nolita, Chinatown, Little Italy, Canal Street and New York University (NYU). You can admire the upscale boutiques or enjoy the East Village's excellent cafes. This bohemian center of New York attracts millions of tourists. The area is also popular for its vibrant nightlife.

Rockefeller Center:

Located in the center of Midtown is a complex of nineteen commercial buildings spanning 22 acres and located between Fifth Avenue (shopper’s paradise) and Sixth Avenue. Best known for its 'Christmas Tree', 'Top of the Rock' observation deck and 'Radio City Music Hall' home of the Rockettes, is a great New York destination for all visitors any time of the year.

Statue of Liberty:

One of New York City's most iconic landmarks, the Statue of Liberty welcomes thousands of visitors each day. Located on an island in the waters of the Upper New York Bay, visitors can only access the monument by ferry. A colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor designed by Frédéric Bartholdi. A gift from France on October 28, 1886 is of a robed female representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue has become an iconic symbol of freedom and of the United States.

New York City is a great place to visit and you will need at least a week to explore all wonders of the Big Apple.

However, it is still a culturally diverse area with significant Polish and Ukrainian immigrant history and the restaurant row dubbed “Little India.” If you walk its narrow side streets, including St. Mark’s Place, you will discover numerous funky shops, and people-watching is especially fun in this colorful neighborhood. For you movie buffs Sixth Street between Avenues A and B became the set for The Godfather A guided food tour can point out important architectural sites including St. Mark's-in-the-Bowery Church (the second oldest church in Manhattan), Cooper Union (a free college established by inventor and philanthropist Peter Cooper), McSorely's Ale House (the oldest bar in Manhattan), and vibrant St. Mark's Place with its shops, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. Once populated by writers, artists, & political activists, a celebrated counterculture continues to thrive here. With immense creativity—the writer Allen Ginsberg lived on East 12th Street, & Leon Trotsky ran a printing press on St. Mark’s Place—galleries here were the first to discover & display the works of artists such as Keith Haring & Jean-Michel Basquiat. A unique East Village culture lives on today with frequent indie film screenings, performance art, and poetry readings. You’ll find fiercely independent stores, second-hand clothing stores, grunge bars, & inexpensive cafes. Greenwich Village (West Village) Synonymous with a bohemian lifestyle, artists, writers & jazz musicians settled here, & the Village still inspires new traditions in literature, music, & art. Some of the best American writing—including Beat poets--emerged here & you’ll find traces of their spirit in the coffeehouses on Bleecker Street & Washington Square Park. Greenwich Village has historically retained a bohemian air and has historically been the center of New York gay culture. This town-within-a-city is seductive with its quaint, curvy streets, beautifully restored townhouses and cozy restaurants. Gentrification has led many monied families to settle in this area. Bleecker Street is a burgeoning shopping area with many newly-opened designer boutiques. Jazz aficionados will want to catch a performance at the legendary Blue Note. The West Village is generally considered the area of Greenwich Village west of Seventh Avenue. Washington Square Park is lively during the warm weekend days and a great place to see street performers, historic brownstones and locals mixing with tourists and NYU students. The Village also gathers many exceptional eateries, restaurants, and gourmet markets due to its popularity to local young professionals and students. You can find all the famous New York noshes including the well-known New York Style pizza, hotdog, falafel sandwich, halal food, cupcake, and more in the area. If you have a limited time to spend in New York, a great way to try all of these noshes is to go on awalking food tour. Not only do you get to eat everything that the Village has to offer, but you also get to tour the neighborhood's historical sites!...morecollapse

This was our 1st trip to New York City and it was amazing. This rental was fabulous - it was everything it promised. The apartment is not large but the very most is made of the space. There were 5 of us - all adults - and we all loved it. A real bonus was the roof top deck. The weather really cooperated so the roof top was like an extra room. The apartment was very clean and had everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Fanny was very friendly, prompt and efficient. If we needed anything we knew she was only a phone call away.. I can't say enough to recommend this rental. The East Village is a great spot - loads of great restaurants, friendly people and walking distance to china town, Wall Street, Times Square , Empire State Building ..... There is so much to see and do it is almost overwhelming. The subway is close and very convenient as well. Great, Great, Great. We will definitely be going back and hopefully able to stay here again!!!

Myself and two girlfriends recently stayed at this apartment and loved it. We found the Tempur-pedic beds to be insanely comfortable and the bathroom was great and came with a hairdryer. We also appreciated the well stocked kitchen complete with coffee machine, beans and coffee grinder. The apartment was quiet and comfortable. There are lots of fun bars and cafes around so we really felt we were in the middle of things. The owner was very pleasant and friendly and was flexible about us having a late check out. I would love to stay here the next time I am in Manhattan

We loved this apartment. Jitu met us late on arrival night — after midnight. He was cheery and helpful, despite the late hour. Had everything we needed for very comfortable stay for a family of five. Apartment was relatively quiet. Some street noise, but it didn't bother us. Great little neighborhood. Very safe. Easy walk to the subway. We walked to Soho, Ground Zero, and Wall Street on the first day. Loved the beer store downstairs. Ate delicious pierogies at Veselka. Quirky highlight: Nearby park has a famous neighborhood hawk that dines on squirrels and pigeons. We were told the bird even has a blog. It was cool to see a wild bird in the middle of midtown. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Great value for a family who wanted safe, clean accommodations with a little room to spread out. We felt like locals!

This place was great! The apartment itself was really clean and had very comfy beds, better than staying in a hotel. The kitchen has all new appliances and is fully stocked with anything you could need. We were able to comfortably sleep 7 woman in the apartment, but that was maximum capacity, I wouldn't try to fit 8 adults. The owner is really nice and flexible, allowing us to check-in later and check-out when when we needed to. The location is the best! Tons of great restaurants, bars, etc. What I loved about this apartment is that it's on a side street, so you don't gear all of the NYC noise when you're trying to sleep. It's only a 4 block walk to the subway which can take you anywhere in the city. I would highly recommend this apartment!

We had a wonderful stay from May 14 to May 21 2011. Flat is wonderfully located in the earth of East Village with lots of bars and restaurants (any range of price and cuisine) at walking distance. Bus Stop is next door and Metro is only few blocks away. From flat we walked anywhere in Manhattan, from City Hall downtown to Met Museum in the Park, so you do not really need public transportation… Flat itself is very nice with two small (but functional) bedrooms and 1 Kitchen/Dining Room with 1 Sofa Bed and 1 Table. We were a party of 6 + 1 infant and we had a great time. Everything you need (including Washing Machine, Drier, WiFi) is there. There is also an amazing rooftop terrace that you can access directly from within the flat and that allows you to enjoy New York landscape and relax, maybe while drinking a beer that you can buy literally downstairs at GOOD BEER NYC, amazing place! Management has been very efficient and professional from early contact trough closing procedures. Dean (owner) and Abi ( property manager) were very helpful during our stay even meeting last minute requests. PROs • Location and neighborhood (TOP picks for Restaurant/Cafè/Bars at less than 2 minutes walking distance: Café Pick me up, Mud, Veselka, East Village Pizza, Itzocan Cafè, Whitman, Dallas BBQ) • Nice and tidy Flat • Terrace (Really nice) • Management CONs • 5th floor no elevator (not really a cons if you then can enjoy the terrace) We WOULD definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for a great way to visit NYC. This place is fantastic, great location and we will definitely be coming back. The added plus was Jitu was incredibly accommodating, without his assistance the trip would not have been as easy. He waited in the lobby for us and gave us his parking spot for a day, saving us at least $80 alone. He made sure everyone was happy. The apartment had two balconies, and even though it was raining it was awesome to see the city from your bedroom.

It is a truly stunning neighborhood with plenty of bars, restaurants, local shops and many more. And you have it all within walking distance. Life never slows its pace here. As for the apartment: it is exactly as the pictures depict. Clean, cozy and sunny with fully equipped kitchen (good coffee machine). It has all you need to make you feel home. It was perfect for our party of six. And the rooftop is fabulous!! To have this true Manhattan experience you should get yourself this very apartment. We loved it and we are looking forward to coming back to East Village. Thank you again!

We are so very lucky to have those individuals like Abi, whose willing to do whatever it takes to at any time of the day or night to make our guests feel at home. Our goal and mission at Suitetopia is to create and provide your "Home Away From Home," your own little sanctuary from the tribulation you face everyday. See for yourself or just read our reviews and then come and experience home at Suitetopia! Suitetopia...life is sweet! DeanOh!

What a great place to stay in New York, there were 5 of us and the space worked perfectly just a shame we couldn't make use of the fab roof terrace due to the rubbish weather! Great are too loads of late night bars and restaurants within hopping distance, especially the Italian and the excellent beer shop right below the apartment below. Also really easy to get around with several subways within 10 mins. Love this place, would definitely go back and recommend it to others.

Hi everybody, we stayed in this amazing apartament the first week of April 2011. The place is just like it appears in the photos, very nice, clean and perfect for a pleasant stay in the "big Apple". I hope that you will enjoy a beautiful vacation as we did
