My family and my extended famlies (10 persons - 7 adults and 3 kids) stayed 3 days for family reunion. The house provides ample space and parking for everyone. It also provided the home feel and mountain retreat ambient. The kid loved the backyard of the 6.5acres. They loved big rabbits (dozen or so), keeping in the large backyard cage. Having the real rabbits and Easter egg hunt were a big hit for the kids. The location provided easy acess to Norris Dam and trails and Appalachia museum. I also loved it because it's closed to home. I'd able to go back and forth to get stuff. The owners live nearby and very accessible for things you may need in last minutes. I would recommend it for family gathering. A happy customer from Norris. :)Recommended for: Families with young children.

RABBIT RUN RETREAT Jim: 865-919-7788/ Judy: 865-898-1137 Terms and Conditions, Instructions, Check-In/Check-Out Procedures TRASH: Please help us recycle by placing the following in the recycle bin located in the tall cabinet next to the refrigerator: Glass, plastics, cans, aluminum, paper, cardboard. Plastic bags should be stored separately. The trash compactor is located at the end of the kitchen counter, next to the double glass doors. If the compactor gets full, remove bag, tie it up and place on the patio. Call Jim or Judy for pick up. New bags and ties are in the lower cabinet next to the compactor. There is a large trash can on the ground floor outside the door if needed. HEAT SETTINGS: To conserve energy, we ask that you pay attention to the amount of water and electricity used. Please set the heat (68-70 deg.) and air conditioner (78-80 deg.) By using the fans when it’s hot, these temperatures should be comfortable. Also, the house will stay cooler if the Sunroom doors are kept closed. Your cooperation will help us keep our rates as reasonable as possible. FOOD AND DRINK: Please restrict food and drink to the eating areas in kitchen, sunroom, patio, and kitchen nook on ground floor. MICROWAVE: The dinnerware cannot be used in the microwave because of the metallic rim. There are microwaveable ceramic bowls in the cabinets under the center island. Also, check in other cupboards as items get moved around. LINENS: Sheets and towels are stored in the linen closet in the master bedroom and in the cabinet in the master bath. On the ground floor, the linens are in the cabinet above the microwave. HOUSEKEEPING: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the house, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. The laundry room is available for your use if you wish to do laundry. WATER AND SEPTIC: The house is on city water, and it is good drinking water. It is on a septic system which is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at any time. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged a fee for the necessary repairs. REMINDER: Please lock outside doors at night, and turn off outside lights. It’s easy to accidentally leave lights on inside and outside the house. Please turn off lights when not in use. RABBITS: The bunnies have been adopted from the Young Williams Animal Center in Knoxville. If they have bunnies that need a home, we take them if we have the space. If you have an interest in adopting one or more, see Judy. If you wish to visit inside the rabbit pen, call Jim or Judy. We can also take some rabbits out on the grass if you would like to take pictures. CHILDREN: Parents are responsible for the actions and safety of children. PASTURE: If horses are in the pasture, please contact Jim or Judy before entering. Otherwise, feel free to walk around the property. There is water in the pond most of the year, so children 12 and under, or non- swimmers, should have parental supervision in the pond area. The pond is a farm pond for the animals, and is not for human use. INTERNET ACCESS: Wireless access code is 97788. TV: Local channels are available. A DVD player is also provided with ground floor TV. Upstairs remotes—turn both remotes on. Use Magnavox remote to change channels. HANDICAP ACCESS: The ground floor and first floor are each handicap accessible from outdoors. All doorways inside of house are 32”. Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: Jim and Judy operated a sign shop, Val-U-Signs, in Oak Ridge, TN from the mid 80's until 2006. When we retired, our son purchased, and now operates, the business. I guess we couldn't stay retired because here we are starting another business. In 2005 we purchased a Crestline modular home and erected it on our property in Norris (8.6 acres). We lived in the home until early 2012. It's a lovely home, but more space than we need. We subdivided the property, moved another house next door and now live there. Over the years we have done quite a bit of entertaining in the Rabbit Run house. Plus there was one wedding and one memorial service. It really is a perfect place to have a gathering. We chose the name because we have had a rabbit rescue here for several years.
Why the Owner Chose Knoxville:
It's a lovely and peaceful place. When we purchased the property in 1997, we wanted to be in the country without being too far from civilization. It's just a few minutes to drive to walking trails, streams, Norris Dam and Norris State Park.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
Only an hour away from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, the retreat is 16 miles north of Knoxville, TN--just minutes away from Norris Lake, Norris Dam, the Clinch River, Appalachian Museum, U.T. Stadium, hiking, biking, and horseback trails.
Shopping, restaurants, and easy interstate access are all close by.
We currently have 15 rescued rabbits at Rabbit Run. They live together in a pen adjacent to the house. We will make it possible to visit or to take photos with the rabbits by appointment.
