Relax among the redwoods in your riverfront cottage with brick paver patio, large deck with hot tub and seasonal dock (June 20-Sept 20) with three kayaks. You are surrounded with lots of mature landscaping, flowers, majestic redwoods & fruit trees striking the perfect balance of sun and shade.
When the dock is not available, the kayaks may be transported to nearby local access areas. In the winter months, curl up with a good book near the fire in the wood stove while you wait for the rain to pass. On a sunny day, go for a bike ride across the foot bridge to Guerneville for an ice cream cone. In the afternoon, plan a visit to some local wineries using the many books and maps available. On another day, go for a hike in the redwoods at Armstrong Park or marvel at the waves at the Pacific coastline at Goat Rock or Shell Beach. At the end of the day, breathe deeply and relax in the hot tub under the moon and the stars.
The first thing you'll notice when you enter the house are the beautiful wide-plank wood floors and the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river and trees creating a peaceful zen-like atmosphere.
The upstairs has two spacious bedrooms with Queen beds and new fluffy comforters. Both bedrooms have lots of windows and one has a deck overlooking the river--perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee. There is a small bedroom downstairs with Twin bunk beds. There is also a Queen-size pull-out sleeper sofa in the living room.
The main living areas are downstairs with an open floor plan. The living room has floor-to-ceiling windows on one end and a wood-burning stove on the other end. There is an adjoining dining room with space for eight people. The dining room opens out onto the brick paver patio with lovely views of the river.
The kitchen is well-stocked with all the essentials and more (cookware, coffee, tea, spices, olive oil, etc.), stainless steel refrigerator, smooth-top electric range, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker & grinder, blender and toaster oven. There is an adjoining breakfast nook with pub table seating for four.
The bathroom is located downstairs and has a large vanity area and shower. It is well stocked with plenty of bath and beach towels plus a hair dryer. We have recently added a private outdoor shower on the side deck near the hot tub. All the bedrooms have full length mirrors and outlets to make it easier for larger groups to get ready at the same time.
The patio is equipped with a propane BBQ grill, table and seating for eight, and porch swing for two. The adjoining deck has additional seating, hot tub for up to 5 people, and an outdoor shower. There are stairs off the deck down to the floating dock (available from mid-June to mid-Sept) where the kayaks (two single and one double) are tied up in the summer. The kayaks can be transported to other access points along the river when our dock is not in.

About the owner: We are originally from the midwest (Suzi from Michigan and David from Pennsylvania) and now live in the San Francisco bay area. We wanted to find a place to unwind from the hectic city life but not be too far away. We feel blessed to have found the perfect place to relax only one and a half hours away from San Francisco.
Why the Owner Chose Guerneville: We have always enjoyed the wine country and chose this house because of its charm and location right on the river. We like to take the kayaks out and watch the local wildlife up close and personal. We also like to hike at the ocean and wanted to be near enough to get there easily and return quickly to the warm sunshine of Guerneville if the coast was foggy.
The Unique Benefits at this House: The views, the redwoods and being right on the river sold us. We like the quiet neighborhood and its proximity to lots of wineries. Great hiking & biking! We enjoy the quaint little town of Guerneville with its many restaurants, 5 & 10 store, flea market, and ice cream shop. We also love walking over the bridge when the dam is up in the summer to The Hideaway, one of our favorite local taverns.
