Our place has an amazing combination of proximity and seclusion for a West End Rental. Located on Mangrove Bight, you have only a short walk to the lively center of West End, or to some of the best snorkeling in the world at Half Moon Bay. At home, you can unwind in the quiet and peaceful setting of a tropical oasis, watching the hummingbirds, butterflies, geckos, and other wildlife.
You will be able to relax in our comfortably furnished home. The interior finish is warm and inviting, and there is ample deck space overlooking the mangroves and jungle greenery. You can also enjoy direct water access or an evening under the stars on Mangrove Bight from our newly constructed dock, and even arrange to be picked up right from the dock for many water activities.
A one-minute walk gets you onto the newly paved West End road where you can find the many dive shops, fishing charters, dining options, shops and nightlife that unique West End offers.
We are interested in weekly rentals or somewhat longer term, so this is a great option for many interested parties. We are also ideally located for people looking for accomodations while completing dive courses. Consider checking out Scuba Roatan, a dive shop that is a two-minute walk from our house.

Upper 2-bedroom Main House Unit:
This is a 2-story unit. Upstairs you will find the master bedroom with queen bed, full bath, AC and ceiling fan, full closet, and private deck overlooking Mangrove Bight. The second bedroom has its own full bath, AC, ceiling fan, queen bed, and full closet. The writer’s nook has a spectacular 180 degree view of the ocean, mangroves, jungle, and surrounding hillsides. On the main floor you will find a fully outfitted kitchen, living area with DVD and cable TV, dining room, half-bath, laundry, linen closet and hotel safe. There is ample deck space to the east overlooking the mangroves and to the west overlooking the quiet banana-filled back yard and neighboring greenery, a jungle full of bananas, coconuts, papaya and mangos to the south, and fantastic neighbors as well as the biggest mango tree we have ever seen to the north.

About the owner: We are from Northern Alberta, Canada and have four sons from age 16 to 25. Joan is a teacher, and Stan is in the furnace and duct business.
Why the Owner Chose West End:
In April of 2011, we came to Roatan for a single day during a cruise. There was just something about this beautiful little island that drew us back, and in April of 2012 we came for a week vacation, looked at a few places with a realtor 'just for fun', and somehow ended up owning this fantastic house in this amazing location. This house has everything we wanted. It is just the right size to keep life simple, it is furnished and outfitted comfortably for our tastes, has modern amenities, finishes and conveniences, but the best feature is the location. We are a very short walk from the best diving and snorkeling in the world, minutes from famous West End, but in a very quiet and private corner of the neighborhood. We have a mangrove and a dock just steps to the east of our house, complete jungle to the south, a banana-filled yard to the west, and wonderful neighbors to the north.
