Two Rivers cottage description

The Fifth Element was designed around the idea that when on vacation, stress should melt away. At this unbelievable destination, you will find everything you need for that relaxing getaway. Every room in the house offers stunning views of Lake Michigan, and the inviting interior will make everyone feel right at home. Sit out on the front porch with a cup of coffee and enjoy stunning sunrises over Lake Michigan. Or escape to the private, secluded back yard enclosed by mature cedar and pine trees for a campfire and marshmallow roast with the kids. If it rains, retreat to the large covered deck or gaze out at Lake Michigan from the comforts of the cottage while flames blaze in the living room's fireplace. Our cottage is perfect for a couples' anniversary weekend or for families looking to spend time on the pristine beaches of Lake Michigan.

Located on dog-friendly beaches of Lake Michigan in Two Rivers, you are steps away from a day of sun tanning and kite flying on the beach or a short jaunt away from a Snowcoaster pizza at Port Sandy Bay. For biking enthusiasts, the 6 mile paved Mariner's Trail runs right past our front door along Lake Michigan, connecting Two Rivers and Manitowoc and Rawley Point Trail. The cottage is less than a mile from Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve, which provides sanctuary for watching an array of migratory and resident birds. Two Rivers provides the best sport fishing on Lake Michigan.

Centrally located and less than an hour from Lambeau Field, Door County, Oneida Casino, Road America, Whistling Straits and Black Wolf Run golf courses, the Fifth Element is the perfect affordable home base for a variety of day trips.

The house offers 3 bedrooms on the upper level: a kids bedroom with a twin bed, a guest room with a double bed, and a master room with a queen bed. The upper level has a full bathroom with shower and bathtub. The main level features an open spacious kitchen, a living room, half bathroom and dining room. The living room features a queen hide-a-bed, gas fireplace, flat screen TV, Bose speaker system, Ipod/Iphone dock, and a book and DVD library.

We are a vacation rental that charges less but offers lots of extras, making us a rare find. We believe that when you get here you should be able to settle right in. This is why we provide a fully equipped kitchen, fresh ground gourmet coffee from The Honey Pot, two complimentary hybrid bikes/helmets, and a bundle of wood so you can kickback, start a campfire and begin relaxing as soon as you arrive.

We welcome children and dogs. Because of the spacious yard and covered deck, The cottage is also the perfect location for a small family reunion, wedding, or corporate retreat. We look forward to making your stay enjoyable.

If you appreciate a comfortable and completely relaxing vacation, you'll feel right at home. We want to be the place you come back to year-after-year, and with all we offer we trust you won't be able to stay away! Let us welcome you to Two Rivers, and if you've been here before, welcome you back.

We came up with another couple on a Friday night for a Packers game and stayed through Sunday night. The cottage is very clean, well decorated, warm and inviting. We put on a fire, chatted and relaxed. Friday night fish fry at Emerald Hills was very good. This cottage is about 45 minutes from Lambeau so it worked out well for us. We sat through the Packers win against the Falcons in snow and temperatures of 7 degrees. Needless to say, we were happy to return to the warmth of the cottage. Overall, great cottage and great time. Would definitely recommend and would return. McKenzie is very responsive.

After a long ride from the northern suburbs of Chicago, we were welcomed by a clean, cool (temperature and style, I guess), and well appointed home on the shores of Lake Michigan. The home is larger than the pictures, which was appreciated because we had a total of five people and a dog living there. Easy access to the highway for traveling to Manitowoc. Went to the maritime museum on one of our free days. The submarine tour was amazing! Ate at Luigi's, which was very good. We would recommend this vacation to our friends and would stay there again if ever in the area.

My husband and I stayed at Fifth element for 2 nights with our toddler son. This was our first trip to Two Rivers and our first time booking a vacation rental through VRBO. We were very happy with our experience and enjoyed our stay. The owner was also easily reachable and hospitable, answering questions before our stay about recommendations of things to do in the area. As for previous reviews about the busy street it's on - yes, the street is kind of busy, and yes it is between you and the water so you are not directly on top of the water. But, I wouldn't call it noisy. It's really just the sound of cars whirring by which really wasn't unpleasant. It was still very easy to cross the street to get to the beach side, and there is beach access really close to the house. The house was nice and well furnished. It was big enough that you could share with another family but not so big that it seemed wasteful for just the 3 of us. The kids bedroom is on the smaller side but there's a twin bed and room for a pack'n'play in there so you could still get two younger kids in there. Though the kids bedroom was missing a door which would probably be helpful if you're going to use all 3 bedrooms. But this didn't really affect us as we just put our son in the guest bedroom. The electric fireplace that turned on with the touch of a remote control button was a nice touch, as was the gourmet coffee from the small shop down the street. If we head back to Manitowoc/Two Rivers in the future we will definitely stay here again!

Owner response: So glad you enjoyed your first visit to Two Rivers and hope that you will come back again and we're happy we could make your first experience with VRBO a pleasant one. We love the coffee from The Honey Pot and want our guests to enjoy it as much as we do! McKensie, Cindy and Cedric

Our family visited for three days with two small children. I found the house to be very quaint and very well appointed. I loved how the house was decorated. However, I would not consider this house to be a three bedroom because one bedroom has a very small bed and no door. It looked like a small walk-in closet. I suppose it would be fine for a small child, but we were not aware that it was that small and we ended up never using it as a result. We also had problems with the television the entire time we were staying there which never got fixed while there. This may not be a problem for most people, but with children it was a problem. Overall I loved the views of the lake and the large backyard to play baseball with my 4 year old grandson. It was loud from the highway out in front, but you can't beat the views. Very nice people managing the house and they tried to get the television to work, but it never happened. I would definitely return to this property again and it was very nice that they allowed pets. It is sometimes difficult to find a rental that will allow pets. We enjoyed a lot of the restaurants around Two Rivers, including Luigi's in Manitowac and Tiguana Rose (Mexican) in Manitowac. Great place to visit. I understand from others in our family that there is a great tour of the Green Bay stadium and museum and a wonderful zoo there as well. The beach is very relaxing and right at your door.

Owner response: We apologize for the TV not working consistently. We have had the receiver reprogrammed through our satellite provider and the TV is up and running! Our cozy third bedroom is small, and we are addressing the door issue as I write this. Glad you enjoyed our local flavor in restaurants. Hope to see you again soon. McKensie, Cindy and Cedric

My friends and I loved The Fifth Element. We adored the house, the backyard and the water so close to our house. The house was clean, roomy and very adorable. The four lane, loud highway right in between our house and the view of the water was a bit frustrating. We all looked at so many pictures before arriving, used our GPS systems and still we did not realize the front of the house directly opened up to a large, loud highway. We did not open our windows much because the traffic was truly noisy. Other than that we used the beautiful backyard and we ran fast across the highway when getting to the beautiful shore of Lake Michigan.

My family stayed here for several days. The cottage was a great size for my wife and I and our three kids, and was very clean and well maintained. The kids especially loved the backyard full of trees. My wife enjoyed running on the pathway along the lake. We took a few walks as a family along that pathway and even got to see a full moon rise over the lake! The cottage was close to everything in the area including beaches, restaurants, ice cream shops, many other shops, and even only 45 minutes to Lambeau Field! We truly felt at home during the entire stay. We would recommend this cottage to anyone, and would stay here again.

Very comfortable and clean home. Beautiful yard with a nice, relaxing feel. We took both sets of our parents with us for this vacation. We all enjoyed the stay very much. My Dad has Alzheimer's, his favorite part was the front porch where he could watch people go by and watch the boats on the lake. It was like his home away from home. We were pleased that he was not asking to go home every 10 minutes, like we had expected. He felt very much at home.

We celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary while staying at your beautiful home! Thank-you so much for the anniversary message on the chalkboard, flowers, wine and treats for our dog! We also enjoyed the coffee too. The home was so clean and had everything we needed for our stay! Our dog felt right at home too. We will definitely be back and hope to bring the rest of the family!

My stay at the Fifth Element was fabulous. I work in the area and had the opportunity to stay for three fabulous evenings. I felt like I was in my own home, from the moment I walked through the front door. Anything I needed was right at hand. The scenery is spectacular from the living room and also from the front bedroom upstairs. It was awesome to watch the sunrise in the morning and gaze at the moon in the evening. I can't wait to come back for a little retreat with my husband. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was fabulous. Flavored coffee from the Honey Pot greeted me in the morning. Ahhhhhhhhhh what a way to start your day. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We were impressed by the cleanliness and lovely interior decorating, as well as the welcoming hospitality. We were greeted by fresh flowers and a welcome message just for us on the kitchen chalk board. The bedding was luxurious like that in a first-class hotel. We were warm and comfortable throughout our stay. It snowed all of our first full day and snow removal was provided several times. Watching the waves crash against the shore in the snow was a unique experience.

Owner response: Sara, Hope you and your husband enjoyed the coziness of the fireplace to help ward off the snowy weather. The lake is amazing in all seasons. We hope you can join us again soon! Mckensie, Cindy and Cedric
