  I've used VRBO for several vacations, and this property was particularly exceptional. It has been nicely updated and the location is terrific. When you have younger children, having pools and the beach nearby is key, and this unit at Poipu Sands is well located. The owners are very easy to work with and accommodating. One of the most important things to me in using VRBO, is avoiding having to buy a lot of staple supplies (especially in the kitchen) for a weeks vacation. This unit is outfitted with just what you need both in the kitchen and now in the age of the TSA, the bathroom with shampoo, soap etc...I added to the collection of suntan lotion etc.. The owners also have done a nice job of consolidating information for activities on Kauai, as well as food options for eating out. For us, the stop at Costco on the way provided us with a weeks worth of meals with an occasional trip out to eat. Again...with kids, that's often a challenging move. At night, the TV has full cable with DVR, the wi-fi worked great for us. I'd suggest this property to my friends and anyone looking for a nice clean unit with everything you need to enjoy your vacation without extra expense.

  We stayed here for 6 nights. This was a fantastic condo - really beautifully decorated with a fantastic kitchen and great bathrooms. The appliances were top of the line and very new. This was perfect for two couples since the two bedrooms were basically equal - large rooms, comfy king size beds in both and really nice en-suite bathrooms with granite and great showerheads. It was nice being on the ground floor - we were able to walk right out to the grills or pool or just to enjoy the lawn in front. The condos on higher floors had their access stairs on the back side so those would be not as convenient for accessing the grills etc. Great view of the ocean from nice quality outdoor lounge furniture. The condo had everything we needed including great beach chairs and towels. There was a small safe which was a nice feature. Washer/dryer in the condo was very handy. The location of Poipu Sands was very nice and the facility was great and very quiet. I wished there was a hot tub in the complex, but other than that, it was perfect.

  A lovely, spacious, comfortable condo- well equipped too! Great beds with high quality linens. The complex was quiet and relaxing, it was hard to believe it was Spring Break. Easy walk to beach. Large super-clean pool. Coffee on the lanai with an ocean view every morning...... Teenage son took 4-5 mile runs along beach/ coastline, along country roads, and through hotel/ condo complexes. There were turtles in every cove and the absolute best snorkeling was at Lawai Cove in front of the Beach House restaurant. Restaurants minutes away by car. Recommend the Sunset Sail (Capt. Andy's) and driving to Waimea Canyon- take swimsuits & swim/ snorkel on the way back at Salt Pond Beach Park after lunch at the Taco Station. Responsive owner, well kept property- would definitely return & recommend to friends if you want to avoid the constant activity/ chaos of large hotels and enjoy total peace/ retreat from everyday life :)

  This condo unit is very accomodating. The location is central to touring all of the island from Waimea Canyon, ( hiking is great there), to Kee Beach in the North Shore where you can hike, snorkle, surf and explore the beauty of Kauai. From the condo you can walk to the Hyatt for a luau or relax overlooking their lanai with a cocktail listening to entertaining music. Take a picturesque walk / hike along the Makawehi lithified cliffs and Shipwreck Beach ( where Harrison Ford & Anne Heche in 6 days 7 nights jumped off the cliff). Cook up a meal on the gas grills and enjoy the patio overlooking the beautiful landscape. The condo is well presented, pictures and description are excellent. We would certainly stay here again. Jenni is most helpful. Thank you for sharing a special place for us to vacation.

  We have done many vacation rentals over the year and this is one of the very best. The location is excellent with a nice ocean view, a beautiful lanai opening to a lovely lawn and landscaped area, easy beach access, and proximity to a very good walkway overlooking the ocean. The condo is immaculate and very comfortable. Everything in it seemed new and fresh. The gourmet kitchen was a pleasure to work in. We took almost all our meals on the lanai, which features attractive outdoor furniture. The bedrooms and baths are spacious. The overall feeling is one of light and openness. Jenni has thought of everything a traveller might need and provided it. We thought this rental was perfect in every way and we hope to return.

  We've stayed at many different vacation rentals and this unit ranks extremely high. Being on the ground floor was ideal for our family as we were traveling with an active 2-year-old. He loved running on the grass and playing football right off the lanai. The location was great as you're within a short walking distance of Shipwreck Beach (3-4 minutes) and there were trails throughout the grounds. We walked to renowned Poipu Beach park in 10-15 minutes. The condo itself was extremely clean, well decorated, and had nice extras such as beach towels, beach chairs, ice chest, a sandcastle bucket, board games, island guidebooks and Off bug spray (mosquitos were nasty after it rained). The photos and details for the listing are extremely accurate and Jenni was very easy to work with. We've stayed in different locations on Kauai before and enjoyed how easy it was to get to anywhere on the island from Poipu. Be sure to check out Pomodoro, a wonderful family-owned Italian restaurant in Kalaheo - they are great with kids! Merriman's kalua pig pizza and BKE burger were delicious as well. Our son loved seeing the farm animals and riding the train at Kilohana Plantation (the train ride is spendy for what you get as adults, so we don't recommend). They offer free rum tasting and have a cute gift shop though. Kauai is our favorite of the Hawaiian islands and we look forward to returning again soon. We would highly recommend this condo to our friends and family and think it's a perfect place to stay with children!

  The unit was fabulous and exceeded our expectations. It's better than the photos. The owner has done a wonderful, quality remodel. It was great to come "home" each day and relax on the large patio. Especially nice were the little touches: shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the bathrooms; coffee makers; beach towels; board games for the evening; some DVDs to watch; an iPod speaker dock; guide books to refer to. It's just a short drive for a Starbucks "fix". We loved Koloa Old Town, especially the Fish Market Ahi Poke Bento box lunch. Snorkelling at Poipu Beach was great but even better by the Beach House restaurant. A longer drive to the canyon is well worth the trip. So much to see and not enough time. We're already looking forward to coming back next year. The owner was responsive and helpful. The complex itself well looked after and maintained. Wonderful quiet relaxing base. I didn't want to leave.

  Wow! This home is perfect and has everything you'll need while on your adventure in paradise. 5 minute beautiful stroll to Shipwreck beach and the Hyatt Regency's gardens. 1 minute to the private heated pool, 10 seconds to your sun soaked lanai. Jenni was an amazing help and answered all the questions we had from the start and even when we were on vacation. Very luxurious home features a gourmet kitchen with beautiful granite counter tops and high end stainless steel appliance. We cooked a lot in the kitchen and had everything we needed to do so and than some. The bedrooms with king size beds were perfect and spacious and each had huge en-suite baths (yea!) The in-unit washer and dryer was a another bonus!! When we did decide to venture out of the complex (though you don't need to) we found ourselves located near great little shops and restaurant, Bubba's Burgers was a favorite. Just a short drive to Lihue, Princeville, Hanalei Bay and beautiful Tunnels Beach (Don't forget to grab the beach chairs, cooler and towels are all provided in the unit) We had amazing days filled with soaking up the sun on local beaches, visting Waimea Canyon, taking an ATV ride through beautiful Kauai country where movies like Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and The Decendents were filmed. (Kipu Tours) The highlight of the trip had to be the "dog for the day" program at the Kauai Humane Society, if you miss your pets while you're on vacation stop by the Humane Society and borrow a dog or two for the day, or an hour, we took ours to a local beach or you can just let them play in the 5 acre park immediately next door to the Humane Society. The dogs will get to stretch their legs, have an adventure and you'll get to love up an animal waiting for their forever home, what's not love, they'll feel great and so will you. You'll pass the Humane Society on you're way to Poipu from Lihue it will be on your right. That will be high on our list the next time we visit, but not higher then staying at this place again which is #1. Thank you Jenni!

  We have rented many vacation homes in Hawaii, and this is one of the most spacious, tastefully decorated, convenient, and well-equipped ground-floor condos we've stayed in (rivaled only by private homes with pools!). Location can make or break a vacation, and this complex is really handy for beach or pool, running and walking, driving out of the area, or staying close to Poipu. It has a lovely lanai with nice ocean-view (we wouldn't call it 'spectacular' -- to us, that would be a property with an ocean-front view and it's important to understand the difference), and great pool that is large enough for lap swimming (really good pools are hard to find). The condo has an excellent kitchen (there are sharp knives!), the bedrooms have wonderfully comfortable beds, there are extremely nice towels that are plentiful and plush, and the "hotel safe" is a bonus (we appreciated using it). We also appreciated having beach chairs to use. The listing photos are accurate, the property is extremely clean and well-maintained, and Jenni was very prompt and helpful in answering our questions. The walk to the beaches is slightly longer than implied in the description, but everything else is very accurate. The green-space seems to make this a very quiet location, and also one that would be nice for children. This is an exceptionally lovely condo that we would recommend to others without hesitation, and one that we certainly would rent again!
