Schloss Linderhof is a charming ski chalet nestled onto the mountainside just behind 'Storyland' in Glen, NH. In summer, you can hear the sounds of the train and other activities at Storyland while enjoying coffee on the deck in the morning. In winter, you can easily access skiing at 5 ski areas in the Mt. Washington Valley. The home is air-conditioned in summer but the cool mountain breezes often provide natural climate control. In winter, the home is heated with two Rinnai monitor heaters and a large fireplace provides both ambiance and warmth apres ski. Wireless Internet and cable TV are also provided. Ample shopping is available at the nearby outlets in North Conway. The owner is a member of the Linderhof Country Club, allowing renters to access pool, tennis courts and a 9-hole golf course for a small fee.
I look forward to making your stay in the Mount Washington Valley an enjoyable one.
PLEASE SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO CHECK MY RESERVATION CALENDAR TO SEE IF YOUR DATES ARE OPEN. I HOPE THEY ARE!
The chalet is part of the way up the side of Christmas Mountain. The roads are all pavement and they are well plowed/sanded in winter. Guests can access the house with any vehicle. There is a taxi service in North Conway that some of our guests have used with success.
Jackson Village is just north of the chalet. In Jackson, you will find a scenic covered bridge, Jackson Falls, village shopping and great restaurants (including the Wildcat Tavern, Yesterdays and the Red Fox). Just south of the chalet at the intersection of 16/302, you will find the Red Parka Pub and Glen Junction). North Conway is a quick drive south with hundreds of shopping outlets as well as excellent local restaurants. You can find water slides, Mount Washington (accessible by car or train), horseback riding, as well as Storyland (right at the base of the mountain!) all in the surrounding area. Santa's Village and Six Gun City are a scenic drive away (approximately 1 hour).
New Hampshire is known for the beauty of nature. We have been clearing trees in recent years and there are 4 season views of the mountains from the deck. Enjoy a morning coffee and watch daylight spread over the mountains. Waterfalls and beautiful mountain hiking trails are to many the best part of New Hampshire...and they are free. There are many easily hiked trails for young families as well as more complex trail systems for experts. Local ranger stations have trail maps and other information ready to hand out. The chalet provides easy access to
Ski:
Enjoy the view of the slopes at Attitash/Bear Peak (north on 302) and then hop in your car and drive there in 5 minutes! You can find a great variety of trails available as well as lessons and daycare. Cranmore Mountain (south of Route 302) is about 10 minutes away and they offer a great day of skiing for a great price. Cranmore also has a great tubing park for non-skiers. Black Mountain (north on 16) is 5 minutes away in quaint Jackson Village. Black is perfect for a young family and offers a great family value pass for lift tickets. Scenic Bretton Woods (north on 302) about 25 minutes drive up Route 302. It is well worth the trip since there are multiple high speed quads and a new base lodge with many luxuries. Wildcat (north on Route 16) is close by as well and offers skiing for many abilities. Jackson Cross country ski trails are close and offer some awesome scenery as you glide through the village and by the river. Even though there may not be snow in other areas of New England, the White Mountains are known for ample snow and great skiing.
Golf:
Visitor country club membership is $45 per week for they entire group that rents our chalet (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Membership allows unlimited use of outdoor pool and tennis courts as well as opportunity to play the nine hole executive golf course on site...practice your short game while you visit. Unlimited golf for $15 per day per person!
Other Activities:
Many of the local ski areas also have alpine slides, water slide and zip lines that are open in the summer. We have a book at the chalet that includes up to day information on local area activities.

This chalet is perfect for a weekend in New Hampshire. I went with a rather large group of friends for a ski weekend. The place is perfectly located very close to Wildcat and Attitash ski resorts (these hidden gems are some of the best in the northeast in my opinion). The chalet was clean, comfortable and had lots of charm. Also, the owner, John, was remarkably friendly and helpful. I had forgotten some precious belongings (too much skiing and apres-ski cosiness can cloud one's thought process), and he went out of his way to ship them. In summary, I highly recommend this place!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The chalet is beautiful and perfectly located. The view from the deck is terrific and unlike other rentals, the house was very clean and there was everything needed to cook as well as plenty of dishes and glasses. The Kitchen and living room area is big enough and well decorated with a very cool vintage touch. Beds are also very comfortable, which was nice after a full day of skiing. We also found that John was very responsive, helpful, and friendly. I therefore highly recommend this place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Great place to relax and get away from the world. The chalet is well-maintained, clean, and very cozy with all the comforts of home. It is centrally located to skiing, shopping, and plenty of restaurants. We had no problems with the appliances and the kitchen had everything we needed to make big breakfasts and dinners (we had lunch at the ski resorts). We didn't use the fireplace, but there was one available with plenty of supplied wood. The layout of the house was exactly as described, with an upstairs and downstairs, two bathrooms and four bedrooms. One of the best parts was talking with the owner himself. John is extremely pleasant, accessible, and welcomes any questions you may have before, during, or after your trip. The directions for opening and closing the chalet are spelled out for you so there is no confusion and it only takes a few minutes to get everything set. Oh, and he sends you specific directions to get to the chalet which were perfect! All in all, a great trip for our group!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and I rented the chalet for a cousin's reunion away from it all. We had a fantastic time at Schloss Linderhof! The booking process was seamless from start to finish. John was very friendly and pleasant to work with. The chalet was very clean, cozy, and quaint. Everything that we needed was provided...plenty of extra pillows, blankets, towels, fully stocked kitchen, and even a Keurig machine! The description of the chalet was very accurate, just as pictured. The location of the chalet was perfect. About 10-15 minutes from North Conway and its many attractions. There was a grocery store only about 5 minutes down the street, which made it very convenient. We enjoyed mornings on the deck, and evenings by the fire. We spent the afternoon at Diana's Baths, lovely waterfalls located in Bartlett about 10-15 minutes away. To top it all off, we even spotted a black bear passing the chalet!! We all hope to be back to Schloss Linderhof! We had a great time! Rosaly and FamilyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed here for a mini-vacation and were very happy with our choice to rent this chalet. The house was "as billed" and it has a kitchen and dining area, living room, and four bedrooms (one above and three below). It very nicely accommodated two families (with six small kids). The kids loved the bunk bed room! This chalet was very cozy clean, and nicely decorated. The owner had all light and fan switches labelled and clear instructions for all of the important details to open the house when we arrived and close the house when we left. We also had a couple of phone calls and e-mails from the owner before our visit and he was GREAT to deal with. I would recommend staying here without hesitation! Great location with a nice, comfortable place to stay. Who could ask for anything more!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
