Welcome to our “Tree House” and thank you for considering it for your vacation/weekend rental needs. If you like light, warmth, color and Tahoe nature, you will feel right at home in our residence. A family retreat for years, we started to open up our home for guests three years ago and only recently listed it on VRBO. Enter the Townhouse on the lower level, where there are two bedrooms, one bathroom and a laundry/wet room. While you climb the stairs, begin to appreciate the artwork on every wall, from local artists representing Tahoe and mountain scenes. At the top of the stairs it opens up into a large living room, which is all about light, color and comfort. Skylights surround the room, offering a feeling of being outside in the trees. Notice the built-in hand carved stone fireplace and entertainment center (large television, DVD/CD player and wifi), which is the focal point of the room. Adjacent is the “cupola,” which is a separate dining area, surrounded by windows that seat 10 comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped and provides easy access to the dining and living areas. The living room opens up to the deck, which appears “suspended” in the trees and overlooks greenbelt area and the tennis courts. Lastly, the master bedroom with a queen size bed and bathroom is located at the front of the condominium providing some separation from the living areas. Outside, the Tahoe Tavern property is gated for security (summer only) and is serenely beautiful for year round fun. Enjoy the heated pool (closed in winter) that overlooks Lake Tahoe. The well known Tahoe Tavern Pier (private and largest on the lake) provides incomparable views, sandy beach, roped off swimming area, buoys and pier attendant (summer only) for boating fun. There are six tennis courts and pro shop, which is adjacent to our Townhouse. There are numerous walking trails throughout the property and many large grassy areas for children’s play. The “Tree House” is located within walking distance from Tahoe City (on a newly completed bike trail) for restaurants, shopping, biking, rafting and boating, to just name a few. It is a short drive to Alpine Valley, Squaw Valley and Homewood for skiing in the winter. It has easy winter access as the Tahoe Tavern property is snowplowed daily. Historic Truckee is only 20 minutes away. It is a premier destination for year round recreational fun!

About the owner: The “Tree House” belonged to our parents who lived in Lake Tahoe four months out of the year. Tahoe was their “primary love” since buying a cabin on the West Shore in the late 1960’s. In 2001, when the cabin became too difficult to manage in the winter, they purchased the “Tree House” in Tahoe Tavern. Completely satisfied to stay on property they would walk the grounds and spend hours reading and playing cards in the light of the upstairs. They often talked of the “spirit and calm” they experienced while living in the “Tree House.” With such good memories, we want others to enjoy Tahoe Tavern and the year round amenities that it brings.
