You can hike through the Florida Greenway, or visit the animals at the Homosassa wildlife park. Swimming with Manatees in the Crystal River is also a once in a lifetime opportunity. ...moreless

We have spent time at this beautiful property on several occasions. It just keeps getting better. The house is huge – room for a large family or three couples. Yet, I prefer to enjoy the romantic seclusion with just my wife. We especially enjoyed tapas and wine on the dock at sunset as the quiet and peaceful river flowed by. There were no bugs even in late August. As a teenager I swam in the Withlacoochee many times. This is a great place to come back to. I have always found the house clean and ready. A delightful old gentleman even came by to check on a minor problem with the clothes washer. Glenn stays on top of everything.

We had a great week relaxing and hanging out at this terrific house that fits right into the natural setting by the river. In addition to my two teenage boys, my husband and I took my 75 year old in-laws on this adventure. They had not been on a vacation in 3 years and were very fearful of travel and staying away from home. Glenn assured me everything was on one level---he was absolutely right! We loved the big shower that my FIL was able to step down into and have a nice hot shower. We had owls, manatees, and otters visit daily. The jumping mullet had our hopes up that we would catch something for dinner, but we snagged one bass after fishing all week. The rope swing was one of the highlights for us---especially seeing my 50 year old husband acting like a kid. Nice and secluded, but a 5 minute drive to gas and groceries. A hospital is within 10 minutes with all the care you could want. We went fishing with a local guy and caught all the sea trout and redfish we could handle. The house had everything we needed except our groceries. Glenn and the local house cleaner were great to answer questions about things to do and trash pick up. Our boys used the canoe and kayak daily and the firepit made terrific blazes to cook s'mores on! The pool table and dart board provided hours of entertainment for the teenagers. The deck provided a stable surface to sit on and sunbath. Did put a fire in the living room stone fireplace, but it sure was tempting. Our boys set up their playstation in the spare room and we didn't hear a word from them once it got dark out. There were a ton of games and fishing gear also. Everything was super clean when we got there and well loved when we left. Thanks for sharing your house with us. We cooked breakfast for ourselves and ventured out for dinner early most evenings. Loved the oven cooked pizza place and all the seafood options. Dunkin Donuts was a very short ride into Crystal River. We have stayed in CR before and really enjoyed getting out of the "city" traffic and such that goes with staying in town. The local grocery store-Food Ranch has some of the best meat selection and very friendly staff. We frequented every bait store in a 10 mile radius trying to get the "right bait" to catch anything, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The Master Bath even has 2 commodes which provided some photographic fun and amusement on facebook. We would love to come back in the future and stay a week or even longer!

Nature Lover's Property!!!
Nature Lover's Property!!!
Experienced a great time at this River House. The house has easy access to the river for getting your kayaks or canoes in or out of the Withlacoochee River. In the first hour we were there we saw a manatee about 10 feet from the dock not to mention the schools of fish that consistently swam by mocking our fishing poles:) The property is huge (Enough room for your kids to run around and play outside), secluded (peace & quiet), and more amenities then most rental houses. I would recommend this house for anybody who wants to get out to nature.

Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My family and I bought this house in 2005 to escape the busy city life of South Florida. We wanted a large house in the middle of nature to enjoy each other and the environment around us. Because we use this as our vacation home, we figured we would share this wonderful house with others! It is a great house in an awesome area, and we want others to enjoy it as much as we do!
Why the Owner Chose Inglis:
This house is surrounded by granddaddy oak trees and is right on the river. We originally wanted to clear the land so we could keep our horses on it as well as be on the water. After buying it, though, we were captivated by the beauty of the woods and wildlife and decided to leave the property natural and beautiful.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
What made us fall in love with he house was the back dock. When we first got the house, we went out to the dock and looked in the water. We were looking right at a manatee! When looking across the waterway, we saw a group of deer, and looking up we saw a beautiful owl staring back at us in the tree. This house is unique in so many ways and we just love it!
