Owner info
Year Purchased: 1958
About the owner: We are a family of five, with three grown daughters who visit frequently. We moved back from San Diego in 1995 to bring our children up in a village in New England and to know and live in the seasons and the rituals of a small town. It is the best move we have ever made. We often travel throughout New England, charter boats up in Bar Harbor, and my work is doing international training and consulting.
Why the Owner Chose Rockport:
Privacy, outstanding sea views and access, nearby beaches, extremely liveable home. On an island connected to mainland by two bridges. I grew up here summers and the home was used only seasonally. It has been a wonderful family home, now lived in year round.' Picturesque' can be cute. This area, seacoast, bays, old villages with tiny harbors is not cute. It is strikingly beautiful. There is so much living history in the area, including Salem, Newburyport, and Portsmouth, NH, all within an hour and a quarter's drive.
