Highlands cabin description
Accomodations: Log cabin, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, plus convertible bed and twin futons in Loft
Fantastic family vacation venue, (or perfect for two couples) who desire a real 'mountain cabin on a lake' experience! Located in the popular, historic resort town of Highlands, North Carolina, at a cool elevation of over 4,000 feet. Nestled on a quiet finger of Lake Sequoyah, you can canoe to 'On the Verandah' fine dining restaurant faster than you can drive! Just a short hike to beautiful Bridal Veil Waterfalls. Living room has vaulted ceilings, floor to ceiling wood burning stone fireplace, log walls, lovely wood floors, cable TV/ DVD, stereo, Wi-Fi, comfy leather furniture and delightful rustic antique decor. Upper level features Master bedroom (king, TV) with private bath, and a sleeping loft with convertible bed (full) and twin futons. First floor bedroom has queen size bed, and adjacent full bath. Dining room seats 8, or dine on the 10 x 40 foot covered porch with grill, ideal for any weather, hummingbird viewing and watching canoers or mallard ducks paddle by! Fun fishing for bass or bream from private dock or gheenoe (flat bottom canoe). Five minute drive to town for fabulous restaurants, golf courses, and shops. Delightful 'small town' feel with upscale activities nearby (live theater, concerts, art galleries) as well as trout ponds, fly fishing, hiking trails, and waterfalls.......that is, if you can pull yourself away from the comfy seating and tranquility on the covered porch! No smoking, no A/C, but ceiling fans and cool breezes. Pet may be ok with owner approval, and $300.00 security deposit. Washer/Dryer and Free domestic long distance phone service. Thanksgiving through New Years available at $1200.00 per week or $325.00 per night, to cover winter fuel charge.
