A nice house that clearly did not meet our expectations. The pictures depict lovely furnishings; many of which are clearly no longer in the home. The home is listed as a four bedroom home. Functionally it should be listed as two bedroom. One bedroom has a king size bed and the Master Bedroom is a large suite that can sleep 8+ people. This was extremely awkward for our family. To access the two other "bedrooms" you have to go through the master bedroom. When you enter the MBR there is a king size bed, full size roll-away, and a futon. Off to one side is a door with a small "bedroom" with a full size bed; you have to go through here to get to the laundry facilities. Through the master bathroom, there is another door with a small "bedroom" that has another full-size bed. Absolutely no privacy in the MBR. It appears they utilized the garage space to increase bed capacity in the MBR. The owner was very responsive. Unfortunately this was the height of spring break and we had no other options. We tried to find a hotel for our adult children so they would have some privacy but everything was booked. We stuck it out for the week. The home was also very dark when we arrived; we replaced 13 light bulbs and the next morning the owner sent the housekeeper over with more. For a home that accommodates 10+ people, there were only untensils for five. It was very difficult to cook in a kitchen with limited cutlery with which to cook and eat. We used a lot of paper and plasticware during the week. The listing also indicates the beach is 2 blocks away. It is actually .49 miles and more like 6-8 blocks. We got a few bikes for the week and that made it much more enjoyable. Weather during the week was blustery and chilly so we never had the opportunity to enjoy the pool. Because of the winds, the pool was filled with debris from the surrounding landscaping. A pool service came mid-week and cleaned it up. The pool is not heated and shaded for most of the day so it was very cold. Lauderdale-by-the-sea has a cute village, lovely beach, and nice restaurants. While the house was awkward for our group, it was pretty close to everything.Owner response: I'm very sorry this was not the home you expected. This home has a very different layout which I explain to each person prior to making the reservation. It does have 4 bedrooms 2 are very large with 1 king in each and 2 are small with a1double in each. The master is so large there is a leather sofa in there that folds down and also a king and queen. The sofa and queen are in addition to the king in there and to the other 3 bedrooms so it will sleep. It is set up to sleep 12 people the way it is so I do not understand why there was not sufficient sleeping unless there were more than 12 people. I know I informed you regarding the configuration and the number of beds before you booked it. Regarding the light bulbs out you called me at night and I told you I would send someone in the morning. I also told you where to look in the kitchen for spare ones. The next morning I sent my cleaning person and told her to ask if you needed anything else and she all she told me was the silverware didn't match not that there were not enough. There are 2 sets there no one has ever said there were not enough not 1 complaint ever. I never told you the pool was heated and I cannot control the weather. I do have pool service once a week and in between the tenant does it there is a net there. You never complained about the pool where you were there. The living room furniture was just purchased in Dec 2012 before Xmas and are 2 beautiful leather sofas.
