What a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen area is very comfortable and easy for everyone to not feel cramped. We will be renting this house again next year and would like to stay 2 weeks!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Year Purchased: 1965
About the owner: This house was purchased by our parents for $7,500.00, which was a lot of money back then. This house was built by JC Long in 1950. Our parents renovated the home purchasing old Charleston brick for the exterior. The home looks like a plantation home in the movie 'Gone With The Wind'. This was the look our mother wanted to have. She searched all over and found these bricks in a downtown building that was being demolished. This is why the house is called 'Gone With The Beach'. In September of 1989, Hurricane Hugo roared through the lowcountry and all of Charleston was hammered. The next several years were rebuilding years for all. Now in 2012 we remodeled the house and invite people to check it out. It is a very comfortable place to enjoy the beach and enjoy time with family and friends.
Why the Owner Chose Isle of Palms:
This is a comfortable, affordable family home, one block to the beach, minutes to marina and golf, shopping and entertainment. We have walked many times to dinner at the Long Island Cafe and to the front beach area.
Great house for everyone, whatever the age or interest with two seperate great rooms, each with 42' flat screen tv's and playroom/game room with futon, game table withbig screen tv and dvd player. Game rooom opens to upstairs deck with bench seat and table and chairs to catch the ocean breeze.
Great house for families, golfers, or girls weekend.
