This was my first stay at a VRBO and I am hooked! It was more beautiful than the pictures and I loved the private garden/patio. The bed was amazing and the cottage was renovated very tastefully and immaculately clean. I was greeted with a nice bottle of wine and locally made cheese, and fresh flowers -all of which were a wonderful surprise. I travel with my dog, which for the owner was not a problem (she is trained and comes with referances). We were both made to feel welcome. The purpose of my trip was to visit all the art galleries and since I had told the owner this, she had brochures for me for locations to visit. Jax the peacock is amazing and the chickens are all so cute, and they gave me eggs in the morning. My dog Jenni was totally excited about the chickens and somewhat perplexed by the peacock. We will be back if it is available and I want to thank the owner for her help and hospitality.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My wife and I had an exceptional nice stay at the Petaluma Countryside Retreat. Already on arrival we were treated with home-made scones, organic eggs, milk and other special treats. Although small, our cottage was very cozy, super clean and comfortable. Everything we needed to create a complete meal was there. When we asked for help it was given immediately and most cheerfully! We have visited Petaluma numerous times over the past 2 years, since our granddaughter resides here. She always stays with us when we visit. She also enjoyed the cottage very much and had was fascinated by the peacock coming out in the morning checking up on us. We will come back soon and hope this special Country Retreat will again be available for our stay!Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you! It was my pleasure to have you stay with us and I hope to see you back soon!

The location and home were perfect for us- near everything without being in the middle of it. We loved the bed (the most wonderful sheets we have ever slept in); the home was updated and had everything we needed. It felt very warm and welcoming just like our hostess! It was like being in the country but it wasn't far from downtown Petaluma. We would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it!Owner response: It was a pleasure to have you stay at our place and I'm glad that you enjoyed it, especially the sheets! We would be glad to have you back anytime!
