Condo was lovely, clean and well equipped. Very comfortable. Bed linens were thin, but bed and pillows comfortable. The condo view was disappointing as it overlooked the roof of a 6 story car garage. Also the condo did not have a pool nor an outside patio and with very small balconies, there was no convenient outside are to enjoy. Carpents were quite soiled in places. Owner was very accommodating .

Owner response: Actually I'm shocked at this review, as this guest called me upon there arrival saying where's the ocean view, which I asked them to review the VRBO website that states a mountain city view. Because I wanted them to have a wonderful holiday, I offered to upgrade them to a ocean front condo for free, which they declined because they loved the homey feeling of the "Earnest Hemingway Retreat". I appreciate the comment on how clean and well supplied the condo was but never in our many communications did they ever say they saw a spot on the carpet. I would have had it cleaned immediately! This condo is huge and has 2 lanai's one has 2 chairs and a table. I'm very disappointed in this review, I try so hard to deliver an awesome vacation experience and have been accused of caring to much. This condo is gorgeous and guests love it and so do I.
When me and my boyfriend first walked in, we thought there were still people staying in there because both of the tv's were on. But I guess the cleaners left those on for us. Anyway, I love this condo! First off, Janna was very helpful before and during our stay. The listing description and photos are very accurate. Janna was kind enough to provide beach mats, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. This condo was fully loaded! It even had a vanity and a mirror with lights for you to do your make up which I always used every morning so I'm glad that was there. Also, the iPod Dock with the speakers were great for our use being that we are only 21 yrs old and we like to listen to music while we eat breakfast and get ready. So that was convenient for us. My boyfriend and I went here for his cousin's wedding. Coincidentally, the wedding reception was at the Hawaiian Prince Hotel which you can see from our balcony. We could just walk there. Additionally, his families had "okay" condos/hotels (most had cockroaches) but ours were more clean and modern which I loved most. It was a good price staying for 8 days. This condo has exceeded our expectations. Oh, I would recommend you to get the parking pass. That was very useful to us. Anyway, we are planning to go back next year maybe around May or June and we will definitely stay here again if it's available. All in all, I recommend this to condo to anyone of age.

Location was super as all the tour buses pick up next door to us. Condo was spotless and well- maintained. Lanai space was more like a ledge than an open space and we had to squeeze out onto it. View wasn't ocean view in that direction so didn't spend much time out there anyway. Interior of the condo was perfect, well stocked and as presented. Close to attractions, shopping etc. We had a great time here.

Condo was very clean, nicely decorated and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Only concern was that there were several missing vertical blind inserts in the living room to ensure privacy. The tub though clean showed its age with its yellow color. We loved the condo but would have liked a sliver of an ocean view.

Owner response: Aloha Cynthia, Mahalo for choosing to stay in our spectacular huge "Ernest Hemingway Traveler" I was fortunate to be a recent guest (Aug 2013) of this condo and I replaced the cloth vertical blinds with black out slats it's lovely. Prefer an Ocean view, I do have 6 ocean front condo's between the Ilikai's, 2 of them have unbelievable ocean views perhaps next time? With Gratitude Janna
Beautiful Honolulu condo!
Beautiful Honolulu condo!
The space is beautifully decorated, very clean, with well outfitted kitchen, and lovely to stay in. While the tiny lanai faces away from the water, it is so close, that you can walk out the front door and be right at the marina, restaurants, and shops - just a two minute walk from the beach. Janna was very responsive before and during our stay - very helpful! As other reviewers have noted, the only thing that I would change would be the window coverings - they don't keep sun out well. Otherwise, we would highly recommend this condo as a place to stay short or long term - and a great alternative (and cheaper!) to the craziness of the hotels on the beach.

Beautiful. VERY clean.
Beautiful. VERY clean.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Janna pays close detail to attractiveness and decor. Location is at north end of Waikiki walking distance to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. It is above the Red Lobster and Outback restarants. Bus/trolley stop is close by. Hilton Hawaiian fireworks can be seen very well from the 7th floor balcony instead of being amongst the crowd to see them. Altho there isn't a pool here, pool passes for the Illaki are provided. The pool was very nice. There is a comfortable portable bed that can be set up in the living room. Washer and dryer in the condo saving on time at a laundromat (+ not having to pack as much). Flat screen TVs, wifi provided, nice linens, fully stocked kitchen, and a separate bedroom for privacy. The only drawback is the window blinds. It would be nice if they were solid as when the sun comes comes up, we got up which was very early because the sun shines thru the drapery slats. The area feels very safe. Our young (4 and 7 years old) grandkids visited while we were there and we were very comfortable with the amount of floor space when they visited. I would definitely go back. Janna is great to work with.

Owner response: Good news the bedroom now has solid verticals the cloth ones have been replaced, creating a darker bedroom. Mahalo for your wonderful review we will look forward to your return visit to Paradise, Janna
We had the pleasure of staying in this condo for 3 weeks in February and we had an AMAZING stay. The condo is very clean and modernly decorated and Janna fixed any problems that arose immediately after she heard of it, it was a small issue and it was taken care of quickly. Janna was an absolute pleasure to deal with and the condo is definitely worth every cent we paid. The condo was situated in the middle of everything we wanted, 10 minute walk to Waikiki beach, 10 minute walk to Ala Moana shopping center and a 5 minute walk to a bus stop that takes you everywhere you could possibly want to go in Honolulu or the island. The condo was very clean and the kitchen is amazing. The condo is very quiet and the washer and dryer are fantastic. Thank you Janna for an AMAZING stay

Perfect Location in Honolulu
Perfect Location in Honolulu
I was a little bit nervous when we opened the door of the Condo as this is the first time I've used this site to book accommodation. I'd been in regular touch with Janna and she said that I wouldn't be disappointed and how right she was. From the minute we opened the door, we were amazed at the size and cleanliness of the Condo. The description on the site was very accurate but it still exceeded our expectations. The kitchen is full size with a huge oven and stove, plus a fridge with an ice-maker. There's every appliance imaginable but because there are 4 excellent Restaurants attached to the building, we decided to eat out. There's a washing machine and dryer in the Condo as well, very convenient. If you love shopping, Ala Moana Shopping centre is only a 10 minute walk, or you can ride the bus as there's a bus stop across the road. The big advantage of the Condo is that it's approx. 1 mile from Waikiki, so it's not as busy or noisy which makes it the ideal location for the older traveller. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants all the comforts of home plus the convenience of an ABC shop, McDonalds and Subway across the road.

Great Stay in Honolulu
Great Stay in Honolulu
Booking through Janna was efficient and she kept us informed prior to arrival. The condo is well appointed for comfort and function. We made smoothies for breakfast each morning with the blender provided. You can pack 1/2 the clothes you normally would b/c of the washer / dryer stack. Location is excellent! At the entry to Waikiki, you can walk to Waikiki beach and shops. Ala Moana Park and Shopping Center are just around the corner. We had daily commitments at the University of Hawaii and it was easy to get in and out (unlike some places in Waikiki). Tons of options here - bars, restaurants, beachfront cafes, shopping, beach, sail, surf, hiking, fishing and the zoo is on the other side of Waikiki. You just can't do it all in a week. Tips - Pay for parking at the beginning of your stay - $20/day and in-and-outs are no problem. Eat at some restaurants in Honolulu (outside Waikiki) to get real local food (and save some money, too). You can walk to the beach and lagoon in front of the Hilton Village - but go a little further towards Fort DeRussy beach for better sand / beach. Surfer? Kaisers and Bowls - two great southshore breaks, are right at the end of the access road. Go at daybreak to beat the crowds (respect the locals tho). Pros: Great value, clean, comfortable and well appointed, wifi works great, excellent location. Everything worked fine (no problems at all). Cons: The view isn't spectacular. Bottom Line = HIghly recommend
