Casa d’Amis is nestled 55 meters above sea level offering panoramic breathtaking views of the Manzanillo beach and the Pacific Ocean of the Nicoya Peninsula.
There are two houses on the property with a large pool/Jacuzzi. Both houses together will sleep up to 8 people at total of three bedrooms and one sleeper sofa.
The large deck around the pool works out perfectly for small intimate weddings and other social events. In the evening, star gazing from the pool deck is the most beautiful sky you will ever see while listening to the jungle sounds that Costa Rica offers.
Casa d’Amis ONE is completely furnished with locally built furniture from native trees. From your bed it offers Ocean & Beach views, bird and monkey watching experiences.
This villa is upstairs nestled among tree tops of the ravine which leads to the pacific ocean with a private covered parking garage underneath, offering modern amenities such as a comfortable king size bed, luxury linens. Hot/cold water, cable TV, free wireless internet, and pool towels. Laundry services are available.
Visitors can get away from the hustle and bustle of city life when traveling to Playa Manzanillo, a secluded beach in the Pacific Province of Puntarenas.
Playa Manzanillo is only a 15 minute drive from Santa Teresa, one of the most active destinations on the Nicoya Peninsula, but its tranquil atmosphere and lack of development make it feel as if it were on a different planet. To get to Playa Mazanillo, tourists can either drive along Highway 160 or take a ferry from Puntarenas to either Paquera or Naranjo Beach, two destinations just a short distance away from Manzanillo. Additionally, travelers can also reach the beach by taking a flight from San Jose or Liberia to the nearby town of Samara.
The main draw at Manzanillo is the seclude beach itself. The serene stretch of sand has been largely ignored by major developers, so visitors to the destination can enjoy the sound of the waves and the swaying of the palm trees in peace. Manzanillo is an ideal destination for families to go swimming, as a large rock jetty just off the coast prevents any large waves from making it to the shore. Swimming is best at high tide, as the rocky underwater landscape has the potential to make waders uncomfortable when the tide is low. Although these stones may make swimming difficult at times, they provide an excellent home for coral and other marine fauna. Travelers interested in seeing these reef-dwelling creatures will love snorkeling in the lagoon between the beach and the jetty.
Mazanillo is also an ideal starting point for tourists interested in walking along the coast. Playa Coyote is a popular destination for these walkers, and those who take the four-hour hike to this isolated attraction enjoy experiencing Costa Rica's gorgeous Pacific coast in its untouched, natural state. One event that draws many people to Manzanillo is the annual sand castle contest, which takes place every March. Teams spend the afternoon making sand art, and when the tide washes their creations away, everyone celebrates with beer and music long after the sun goes down.
When visitors to Playa Manzanillo are tired of swimming, snorkeling and exploring the beach, they can head to the nearby town of the same name. The small hamlet of Manzanillo offers travelers a glimpse into authentic small-town life in Costa Rica, allowing them to grab a drink alongside native Ticos in one of its few restaurants and cantinas.

The listing description and photography do not clearly reflect what we found upon arrival on January 31, 2013. The pool which is by no means "large" was a dirty mess, it's filtration system was not operating and the water was a muddy brown/ green. The site is still under construction with materials and garbage littered around. There are exposed water and drainage pipes and a dangerous drop off the side of the pool deck to a ravine. There is no door separating the bathroom from the main room and no washer or dryer to be found anywhere. We were so disappointed with the overall state of the property we chose move elsewhere after the first night. The owner has expressed disinterest in our concerns and has not had the courtesy to reply to our attempts to negotiate a solution to this unfortunate and expensive experience. Future renters beware!Owner response: i'm very sorry that this person did not have a great experience as the past 12 couples have had no issues with the property only great things said. Yes she did have some valid concerns as we completely fixed all of them the following evening and offered that night at no charge. Mother nature causes the pools in this area to chemically go south with the sand and pollen from the trees and beach. As we said it would be cleaned as soon as our chemicals are delivered. All of our pictures on our site are true pictures, the property is in great shape and is always ready for our guest to enjoy. Unless Mother nature acts up. Please give us a try you will be satisfied with our team and property.

This one bedroom cabana was exactly what we expected from what VRBO had to say, the pictures did not do this place any justice, the view of the ocean and the beach was very neat. The property was very safe and secure and very clean. Trey the onsite manager along with Miley the maid helped us with every question we had. The gardner even went and purchased food for us from the local grocery store. We traveled to Santa Teresa only a few miles down a very bumpy road which I highly recommend a quad or 4 wheel drive vehicle not for the mud but for the clearance of the bumpy road. Anyway we spent the days at the beach and around town then returned back to our house in the jungle and enjoyed the views and the bright stars while having wine around the pool. My husband and i had a great time. We rented horses for a nice ride up and down the beach, and the quads that we rented was a blast with Trey's direction of where to go. We found several beach towns and the countryside was beautiful, found monkeys everywhere. The surf was nice with great form and when the tide went down we had a relaxing time in the tide pools. We also purchased fresh SeaBass from the local fisherman at the beach. Cooking them on the grill was great.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This is better than any other place I have stayed in Costa Rica. The amenities were first class and we had a large and very comfortable bed! It is hard to find a luxurious one bedroom place like this in Costa Rica! I appreciated the resort style home! Loved the peaceful environment and the monkeys swinging on the trees! it was just a few minute walk down to the beach where we enjoyed the tide pools and beach combing down a secluded beach. Pretty ocean views! Thanks to Trey the onsite manager who is speaks very good english and spanish, he helped us with things to do and where to go which made our visit to this very cool area enjoyable without a lot of research. The price was well worth the facility as well. We definitely recommend this house and can't wait to come back! I will tell all my friends in Estes Park Co. about this place. Cheers!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We live in the USA near the Houston Texas area. Several years ago my girl friend/best friend and I decided to travel to Costa Rica looking for a place to retire. Our good friend Trey who also built our houses ask us to travel the country to see if we could find a better place then Playa Manzanillo. So we did, and after two weeks of travel from one end of Costa Rica to the other we found ourselves back in Manzaillo loving every inch of it. We travel alot and know what every person wants when staying away from home so we have designed and put in place what you expect from a home away from home. After our houses were completed in July of 2012, my best friend and I tied the knot and was married here in Manzanillo on this beautiful beach.
Why the Owner Chose Manzanillo:
We have fell in love with this area, not only the area but being able to walk down to the beach and meet the fishermen who had been out in the ocean all night fishing then allowing us to purchase a 30 lb. Sea Bass fresh off the boat for a few dollars is just the best thing ever.
We chose this property solely due to the sounds of the ocean and the residence monkeys who you hear most mornings. Our house designs allow you to see the Pacific Ocean from every room/bed in the house, the monkeys are just outside the window swinging from tree limb to tree limb. Every once in a while you will hear and see a heard of cows walking up the street right in front of the house. This property just keeps giving memories to us each time we visit as it will to you once you decide to stay with us.

After being down in the surf village of Santa Teresa visiting with people from all over the world its always nice to be able to return to piece and quite of the sound of the jungle and ocean in the evening. The local town of Santa Teresa caters to the world of travelers, so you will find most things you enjoy to cook and eat here.
