  Photos and actual site were accurate. Property was clean and well maintained. Was difficult to find in the dark, jetlagged and not knowing the area the first night. Tim and Ili were helpful in requests and answering our questions about the area. I would recommend this property to anyone. The attractions and activities nearby were great. Had to leave our city life and embrass not having city life at our fingertips. Loved the farmer's markets and Kalapana at the End of the Road. The property was great, the view was great. Even got used to the Hawaii sounds of Geckos and frogs and the beautiful ocean.

  My wife and I stayed for two nights at the Bali House. We did not know what to expect. We learned from the friendly and attentive owners that the original house had been imported from Bali and then expanded. The high ceilings and beautiful woodwork give the house a tropical feel. The house has everything you might need for an extended stay. Perfect for a couple who want some room to roam around in. Although we could hear the ocean, the views from the lanai and from the interior of the house were somewhat obscured by plants and trees. One of the principal charms is the living-in-a-jungle feel that you get, particularly at night when the birds and frogs start carrying on. Once we got used to it, we loved it. Bali House is close enough to Hilo and the Volcano National Park to make it a good base of operation if you want to explore this side of the big island. We would return.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

  Our party of four(two couples) loved every moment of our stay in the Bali House. It was exactly what we had expected and more! The house and property were very clean and well maintained. Chocolates and chilled wine was waiting for us. The day we arrived the owner called to make sure everything was okay and that we had checked in okay. We liked the fact that we had covered parking inside a gated wall. The black sand beach that is maybe 100 yards away was beautiful! But people should know that is a clothing optional beach and is very popular on the weekends. We would definitely return and will be recommending this to our friends and family.

  he sun is dancing on the water this morning, the last of our three night stay. It is "Post Card Perfect". We have been privileged to have visited all the Islands but this is our favorite and our first time time to have been on this side. We have had a wonderful time exploring. The best part has been after full days to come home to the serenity of the cottage. We so appreciate the lushness of our surrounding, the pounding of the surf, the chattering of the birds. As gracious hosts your have anticipated our every need. You have created a very romantic hideaway! We thank you!

  Never have we stayed in a place so magical...so beautiful. Iliahi and Tim were kind and gracious hosts, the view was incredible and the house was down-right AMAZING. i want to keep this a secret from 'tourist hawaii' for a reason... ITS TOO GOOD! private, serene, and honest in its Puna-bounty. We hope to return one day

  Thank you Ill and Tim for sharing your beautiful home with us. My wife and I can't stop talking about it. We have been coming to the Big Island for 10 years now and this was our favorite place to stay. We have rented all over the island and no other place comes close to the peace, tranquility, and true aloha we experienced at the Bali House. We recommend the Bali house for those who want to experience a real Hawaiian adventure not some fake tourist trap. Mahalo Nui Loa. Jamie and Ellen

  The Bali House and Bail Cottage are truly magical places. Last year we stayed at the Bali Cottage and tried to book it again as soon as we got home, but it was already booked. Luckily the Bali House was newly available to rent, so we booked it. We didn' think we would ever find a place as romantic and magical as the Bali Cottage with its open-air kitchen, direct ocean views, and secret garden spaces tucked throughout its own private grounds, but the Bali House was even more enchanting and delightful. The house is an architectural marvel, being constructed of 3 pods imported from Bali. There are multiple levels, making the house seem much bigger and really cool! Also the beamed ceilings (the underside of the Bail roofs) soar above the rooms in a dramatic way. The house is very well equipped and has all the comforts of a real home. The stone grotto-style shower with rainfall shower head is amazing! There is also a huge screened-in bonus room with canopy bed and its own sitting and dining areas. The master bedroom in the main house has its own deck with ocean-front views. The gardens are well planted with lots of blooming and tropical plants, creating separate private garden areas that give you total privacy from your neighbors. The hot tub is great. Our second time here was as amazing as the first. We were greeted by the owner Iliahi, with a hug and the aloha spirit that you only experience in Hawaii. You can feel the magic the minute you arrive at the Bali House. This is a real gem, and when you get here you want to stay forever. We are already looking forward to our next visit!   My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. Both volcano and beach are within 10 mins walking distance! Very nice place! Very nice people! I will definitely go back again later!
