Thank-you for a most memorable stay in your beautiful chalet. It is impeccable and very well equipped. The children really enjoyed skiing in Saas Fee and my parents loved the atmosphere in the village. Many thanks

We've been coming to Saas Fee for 6 years now and after our 3rd stay in Chalet Jungwald, we can't do without it ! We appreciate everything : first of all the car-free village, then the chalet in itself with its high standard equipment, its quietness, its fantastic view on the mountains, its location very convenient for skiers, and the kindness of Dominique with a really good customer service. In this chalet, we really feel at home. Our 3 children took ski and snowboard lessons at the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School and were really delighted. We were very lucky this year as sun and snow were at the rendez-vous and there was nobody on the slopes. We also recommend to try the 5 km-long sledging trail from Hannig down to the village : a lot of fun in perspective for everyone !

Owner response: Thank-you Catherine; it was lovely to have you back!

We had a blast. We got warmed up on Saturday while having a delicious raclette and immediately felt like being home... On Sunday we went skiing and snowboarding – how perfect winter in Switzerland can be yet there was variable wind! During the week we either went skiing, sledging and “Eistockschiessen” and even made a cake. In the evenings we sometimes cooked (Burger, Fajitas, Spaghetti...) and we also went out dining in Alphitta, Den Ciccio, Steakhouse... It was a wonderful week, we’d really like to come back!

Wir waren immer wieder an der tollen Aussicht dem kuschligen Kamin und der tollen Einrichtung erfreut. Wir vermissen Saas-Fee jetzt schon wieder und hoffen auf ein baldiges wiedersehen.

We had a lovely Christmas in Saas Fee – quite a change of scenery for us Queenslanders! Chalet Jungwald was super comfortable and absolutely the cleanest and most well equipped holiday rental we´ve ever had so far! Everyone was sad to have to move on.... Highlights for us • The skiing of course, • Beautiful sunny days at the start of the week and a solid day’s snow on Thursday, • Playing in the snow – the red toboggan-dish was fun to slide around on! • The Schaeferstube • Cosying up at the end of the day in the chalet and waking up to those stunning views • Seeing a chamois PS only suggestion: some plastic cups for kids to use (Note from Dominique – done!)

Every story in this book is one with superb views, excellent trails and a fine house. So what is there to add? I think to tell you about our trips. We made several with our two sons of 9 and 11 years old: • Hannig Station: walk to the Gletcher lake and then further to Saas Fee, • Speilboden: feed the marmots – they like nuts the most, • Felskin/Plattjen: walk to the Brittaniahutte - beautiful views on teh other side of the mountains and a little bit dangerous through the snow at the end of Felskin, • Saas Grund: take the cabin to Kreuzboden – we walked to Hoh Saas and again beautiful views. If you go back you can take the monster trottel from Kreuzboden to Saas Grund. Very cool, • Fee blitz: our children did it several times and they loved it, • Adventure Park: next to the Fee blitz – at the end you cross the gorge twice! A week to remember

Wij (de familie) hebben genoten van deze top vakantie. Daar was het Jungwald huijse een groot onderdeel van. Het uitzicht was prachtig, de wandelingen waren super, het was een mooie plek en de bedden sliepen lekker. “We (the family) have enjoyed this top holiday tremendously. The Jungwald chalet had a big part in it. The view was gorgeous, the hikes were super, it was a beautiful place and the beds slept great” (according to our 9 year old Emma) What is there to add? The chalet was extensively equipped, including the Wii, Wifi of which especially the children made use and enjoyed it greatly! In two years time, we will return to Saas Fee, if possible to this wonderful chalet.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Chalet Jungwald in Saas Fee this summer. Booking was easy and efficient. The information package we received from Dominique before leaving for Saas Fee was truly complete and covered everything you would want to know about the chalet and the village of Saas Fee. On arrival the house was immaculately clean. We felt at home immediately. We especially loved the light and airy living area with open kitchen, the views of the village and the surrounding mountains, the second en-suite bathroom with the overhead windows (giving a view of the mountains while showering) and the tastful furniture and decorations of the entire house. Our children (we have 4 ranging from 1 to 9 years old) very much enjoyed the Wii (as a way to spend some extra energy after hours of hiking!) and also loved the jacuzzi. The next door Schäferstube is a great restaurant, both for dinner and for a well deserved ice-cream after a long hike. It was a pleasure to stay in Chalet Jungwald. We hope to return to this lovely place to spend another great holiday!

Owner response: Thanks Susan, you're welcome back anytime!

Me and my friends had a amazing week in Saas-Fee. Especially the chalet excedded all of our expectations. The property was clean and comfortable and offered a great view of Saas-Fee. It was modern and furnished on high standard. The short walk to the lifts was a further advantage. The contact with the owners was very friendly and reliable. Everything worked out perfectly. We'll definitely come back again.

We have just returned from another fabulous week in Chalet Jungwald in Saas Fee. The chalet is lovely and clean, warm, and is like a home from home. This year the wii console was a welcome addition! Our four children, aged 7, 9, 11 and 14 could ski out to the local ski school and ski back afterwards on their own or with us. There are also some good winter walks from the chalet to Hannigalp and Fletschhorn. The views from the lounge and balcony are fabulous. The restaurant next door is really good, and being so close, is a great place to go in the evening without the children! I would recommend this chalet for the views, walks and great accessibility to the slopes.

Owner response: We thought the Wii would be popular!

This was our second visit to Saas Fee and Chalet Jungwald. We were pleased to be able to share this holiday with James's parents and our two children aged 2 and 6 years. Our experience was, as before in April 2010, brilliant. This chalet has a wonderful location close to the the top of the Staflewald piste - we skied in and out when we hadn't left our gear in the lockers at the ski school meeting point, which we often did as one of us had to get the youngest child down/back up each day. The chalet is well positioned for walks on Hannig (the walkers/sledgers mountain) which we made use of - We had a lot of fun with the children on the 5k sledge run. My top reasons for going to this Chalet:- 1. The views from the living room and dining area are gorgeous. We feel the location is one if the major selling points. The chalet is at the top of village, close to the main village piste, easy connection to the main lifts:- Felskin, Morenia, The Top/Allalin and an enjoyable 10 min walk down to the village if you forget something from the shops/fancy going out for the evening. 2. Not that we did much eating out as it such a pleasure to be inside the chalet. It is toasty warm, homely and well equipped and the kitchen is a joy to prepare meals in as it is open plan and you can hang out/drink G&Ts with the non-skiers while cooking, or observe children mealtime while preparing adult meals. There are three bathrooms, and the bedrooms are a good size. It's nice to find a bit of cling film or a teabag when you first arrive. 3. We are so comfy and relaxed in it. My top reasons for visiting Saas Fee:- 1. The skiing suits our intermediate level and the snow was superb this year. This is our fifth week skiing, so describe ourselves as newly intermediate. We went on quite a few reds this time, and feel there is plenty for us to do here. It's high, and therefore snow sure, even in April. 2. January was not busy. We often had a lot of space and peace - I almost had the Langfluh piste to myself on one sunny day - I saw other people in the distance but felt like really relaxed while skiing. We didn't have to queue for lifts ever. 3. You can get a lot done in a week - Saas Fee skiing is manageable. 4. Beautiful scenery. It's a pretty village. 5. Helpful host - Dominque, really went out of her way to research childcare options for us - Thank you very much for the time you took. 6. Family friendly. Loads for non-skiers to do - walks with sledges, restaurants etc.

Owner response: Jen, Thanks - you´re welcome back anytime. Dominique

We had everything we needed plus nice touches such as the boot warmer, Wii, and Bose speakers! We had a great stay and the owner clearly the owner likes her place and is proud of it, that she insures everything is prepared and taken care of. We had a great snow storm when we first arrived followed by fun skiing. kids loved skiing and the toboggan was a big hit! Have had a great week in Saas Fee. First time to the Alps in the summer and will definitely come back again. Kids have absolutely loved the toboggan (top speed 29.35 kmph but who’s counting?). Have had some wonderful walks and spent a lot of time admiring the views. If anybody has young kids and I really recommend - Toboggan rides – 10 on the “thrill chart” - Feeding marmots – very cute and tame – take carrots! - Scooter rides in Saas Almagell – easy ride - Kreuzboden playpark and waterpath – lots of fun - Walk down Hannig via Fairytale walk – long enough for our youngest (5) Overall a great week and weather was kind to us. Thank you Dominique for your hospitality. The chalet was perfect. Family S, Amsterdam , NL

We enjoyed the time in Saas Fee and Chalet Jungwald again this summer. Time seems to be nothing here – everything is still like we had in our memory (except the interesting photographs everywhere). It isn’t easy getting here on the last metres but the view from the balcony is still beautiful. The whole chalet is also very well equipped and comfortable. We missed nothing except of a teapot (now replaced - Dominique). It’s really not easy to pack our bags and leave Saas Fee and we hope to come back next year. We had a wonderful week here in Saas Fee. The chalet was ideal for a family of 6. The unexpected snow on 1st June was a bonus. The children were delighted to wake and find snow on the ground. The snowfall continued all day. Before the arrival of snow we enjoyed a scooter ride down the mountain. The steep hill to get to the chalet was a little challenging for our mother although by the end of the week she was putting us to shame. Her yoga practice on the last day was amazing. Thank you for a lovely stay. Family H, Manchester. UK

We enjoyed an extraordinarily nice time in Chalet Jungwald and Saas-Fee. As we arrives a few days earlier we made good use of the 'free' time to locate the chalet, do the shopping (your tip to buy wine & spirits from the Getranke depot was very useful) and try out the Schaferstube (which proved to be very pleasant). Due to the poor weather we did worry how we would manage to get our 5 and 3 year old grandchildren to the ski school and back every day as the snow by the chalet/Schaferstube had virtually disappeared to make sledging possible and, to be honest, we hadn't thought about pulling the sledges back up the hill or nursery slope. So, we contemplated arranging a daily morning taxi. However, from Sunday till our departure on Saturday the weather was sunny, warm and gorgeous. It made skiing back to the chalet a challenge which we aborted midweek. The snow on the higher slopes remained excellent for most of the days. Thomas (5) and Amelia (3) defied our concerns - they walked down to the ski lockers and walked back up (sometimes very slowly past the playground & sheep) to the chalet every day - no taxi used. I think the parents and grandparents found the walk up a greater challenge! The parents were particularly impressed and pleased with the Swiss Ski School and daycare. They looked after the little ones very well. As we wrote in the guest book - your website details describe the chalet accurately and the follow-up notes & tips are very helpful indeed. I think you 'deliver more than you promise' which is excellent salesmanship. From the moment of walking into the immaculate chalet (after having taken our shoes off) everyone of us was impressed and felt at home. We can't think of any new superlatives to add to those already written and are planning to return next March.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

Owner response: Thanks Bob - I'm delighted you had a good week and that our Swiss home exceeded your expectations. Once more we have good feedback on the Saas Fee ski-school's approach with young children. It's also great to hear that Saas Fee continues to offer good skiiing despite the poor snow across the Alps this year. Dominique

Chalet Jungwald is a wonderful place to stay in Saas Fee. It is in a quiet location on top of a hill, but very close to the nursery slopes and just a short walk down to the shops and restaurants in town. The walk back up to the chalet gives you a good work-out but our children ages 6 and 9 managed it without any problems and the views are certainly worth it. My father in law who is 71 didn't have any problems but if you're older and not in good shape it may be somewhat challenging, but for us it was perfect. The Chalet was immaculate when we arrived and all the furnishings and appliances are top notch. The beds are very comfortable and it was great having a bathroom for each bedroom. We felt at home right away and it was wonderful to have such a nice place to come back to after a day of skiing. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and it was simply comfortable and clean. Dominique was prompt and responsive and she provided a very thorough welcome packet which we found useful. The restaurant suggestions were great and we particularly enjoyed the Shaferstuble which is just a stone's throw from the chalet. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning in the future.

A short walk up and down to the village for the fit, a little bit of a trek for the elderly (especially if pushing a buggy or towing a toddler on sledge as granny was), and if you are lucky enough to have fresh snow overnight four nights out of six as we were - meaning fantastic skiing but a slippery road. The chalet is virtually ski-to-door (out and back) and we even managed to ski back from the nursery slopes with our four year old beginner on the drag lift with us. Thoroughly recommend Eskimos Ski School (used by our four year old and his friend and siblings). Groups limited to five, which really helps and, I believe, is smaller than Swiss Ski School. The restaurant close to the chalet, on the road is great. Delicious food and lovely views. Can be skied to. Swimming pool is fun for littles - has a slide in the baby pool and lots of jets and water-falls in the main pool. We were there for carnival week which was fun, with bands, fire-works and lots of fancy dress. If you have a two year old who can't yet ski and needs entertaining, we recommend the Imseng Bakery, Tuesday 10am for bread making, which she loved. Or the pool. Or the (free) little red train through the village. Or sledging. The 6km toboggan run from the top of Hannig is very exciting but beware if icy. Very fast and hard to stop - particularly if you have your small children with you! Very pleased indeed with the wonderful chalet. Spacious, airy, great views and offering everything we could have asked for. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Owner response: Thanks for a brilliant review and for the tip on bread making at Imseng - that one is new to us also! I´m really pleased to hear that Eskimos are living up to their reputation for young children; I´ve always liked what I´ve seen of them on the slopes....and of course good to hear that you had fresh snow. Dominique

We were very pleased that our chalet was as described and exceeded our expectations. Coming from the US we were looking for a little bit more roomy accomodations as European standards are ususally much smaller. We felt that Jungwald was spaciaous, clean, ski-in/out, modern and very well equipped, we felt at home in this chalet. We appreciated great communication with the owners in advance via e-mail and onsite with the folder they created and have for guests (very useful). We would highly recommend to others. We had a lovely vacation.

Owner response: Thanks for your review and recommendation Jacky. We´re really pleased you had a good stay and that we could help you feel at home. It was our pleasure to host you so far from home.

Liaisons with the owner prior to our stay were very useful and helpful with making our stay a success - especially the last minute snow report! thank you. The property was very clean and comfortable, everything appeared new and it felt like we were the first people to stay in the Chalet. Beautiful spot and glorious views. Would not hesitate to go back.

Owner response: Milly, thanks for your lovely review. We know what it's like planning a holiday to a new destination and I'm happy our liaisons were useful - especially the snow report!. Thanks also for your comment on the standard of the chalet which I will pass back to the cleaning team. They are brilliant and it's nice to be able to thank them properly. We look forward to welcoming you back. Dominique

We have just had a wonderful week in Saas Fee, staying at Chalet Jungwald. It is a well-equipped, impeccably clean chalet with beautiful views across the valley. Our four children aged from 6 to 13 all loved the holiday, with ski lessons every morning followed by more skiing in the afternoon or relaxing in the chalet. It was a huge advantage to be able to walk out of the chalet, put skis on and ski down to the ski school in the mornings. The apartment had lots of room for our big family, and the DVD players in the bedrooms (and Wifi!) were great for the older girls. There is a really good restaurant almost next door, with lovely food and friendly staff. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Owner response: Thank-you for lovely feedback. It's great to know that the things that appeal to my family also please our guests. We look forward to welcoming you next year.

We spent New year at Chalet Junwald and had a wonderful time. The chalet was fantastic and the views are breathtaking. We tried the Optimum Ski School and were extremely impressed with them so much so that our six year old daughter refused to take her ski boots and helmut off after we had finished skiing for the day. Although the Chalet is at the top of a hill it was great fun sledging down to town with our three children cheering all the way. Definitely coming back next year as so much still to do and see and not enough time to do it all. Thank you for a great winter holiday. Stef, Sonia, Milya, Marta and Lara

Owner response: Great feedback on Optimum - I´ve always been impressed with what I´ve seen on the slopes; they do look very good with children of all ages and skills. I´m also impressed with the sledging - definitely for the young and young at heart. We look forward to welcoming Stef and family next year.

We were lucky enough to rent this property over the Xmas period and it exceeded all our expectations - the quality of the furnishings is first class and you certainly feel you are a guest in Dominique's home rather than renting a holiday chalet. To know you are coming back to such a lovely property after a day's skiing makes it all the more appealing - so much so that we were happy to cater for ourselves a few nights rather than go out again into the town. However, the other bonus is the wonderful Schaefferstube restaurant a couple of minutes away - fabulous food and lovely friendly staff. The views from the chalet are stunning and whilst there is quite a steep hill to climb from the village, this is well worth it for the wonderful views from the chalet. The help and guidance received from Dominique prior to our arrival was excellent and she has a wealth of knowledge about the area and is happy to share this with her guests. We would certainly like to return and we are sure it is as stunning in Summer as it is in Winter. For us, it was certainly a Christmas to remember and thank you for the lovely Xmas decorations you had put up for us!

Chalet Jungwald exceeds all our expectations. We enjoyed the great views from the balcony and the bathroom with the roof windows. The apartment is very well located in a quiet area of the village. There was nothing that we missed during our stay. We have done a lot of walking-tours starting from Hanning, Plattjen or Spielboden down to Saas-Fee and we enjoyed the unique landscape here. Thank you for the opportunity to live here for two weeks and for your constant support – we had a fantastic time. Hopefully we can come back next year.

Our party consisted of 3 adults and 3 young children aged 5 months, 4 and 8 years old. Our expectations were exceeded. The apartment is modern, luxurious, relaxing and homely and provided in a very good condition - new, clean and very well equipped. It truly felt as though we had stepped into someone's home rather than into a holiday rental. The design of the apartment is well-thought out. We liked having two bedrooms adjacent and a third located on a different floor, as it gave us flexibility to prevent young early risers from waking the non-skier and baby. It gave us lots of comfort and personal space which was what we needed given the age range of our group and our many evenings in. The TV/DVDs in bedrooms we didn't use but would next time if we could get ourselves organised, get the children in bed early enough and not be physically exhausted ourselves! The best thing about the place though is the location and the view from the living area - it really is special. Another wow is the view from the bathroom skylights in the second bedroom - stunning sunny blue sky and gleaming white peaks. Jacuzzi in main bathroom was also a treat. The photos on this site do not really fully convey how lovely the property and the views are. The sun streams onto the balcony and the breakfast table in the morning. The view to the right of the kitchen is of a pretty woodland and what my 4 year old son called his secret pathway. My mum loved the seclusion and privacy of the 'out of village' location but also found access a bit of a shock to the system, especially with a pushchair and skis. However the walk is short, 5-10 minutes is accurate and once we'd hired a ski locker by the meeting point for my and the children's skis not a problem, and anyway none of us would have swapped the elevation and views for a lazier life! The property is ski in and ski out and it's a nice wide blue run (Staflewald piste). We almost fully skied in and out to the door in mid-April and skiing at Langfluh and Morenia was great all day. Next time we'll go a bit earlier to have great snow at below 2,000 late into the afternoon. We found the owners accessible, kind and generous. They allowed us to stay on a couple of days when we were delayed due to the volcanic ash. Saas Fee is a compact and pretty family-friendly village. We can recommend Eskimos Ski School (the children loved attending). You will be pleased if you choose this apartment. We had a great week and will return

We stayed for the half term 2010 week in Haus Jungwald. The apartment met our every need - a great position with excellent facilities enabling us to ski easily and enjoy our rest too. All aspects - sleeping, bathrooms, living area and kitchen are to a high specificiation. The apartment is very clean and well maintained with a wide range of additional features including internet access and tv for a number of languages. Next door is Schaferstube where we ate on two evenings and also used the sun terrace for a coffee one day - very much worth a visit for very high quality (not at all cheap though) food and service. Such views come at a price and the walk to the apartment from the village is a challenging one so a place for the sound of wind and limb. This was our 6th visit to Saas fee and my daughters definitely rated this as one of the best.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Owner response: To be rated one of the best by regular visitors to Saas Fee makes us proud. We pleased again that we receive positive comment on the standards of cleanliness and facilities.

We just spend a wonderfull week at Haus Jungwald. The house is conveniently located a little above the village and immediately next to the slopes! We really felt at home at the house and appreciated the efforts that had gone into taking care of all the details!! In particular the built-in DVD in the bedroom TV-set was a pleasant amazement for our 3 year-old! The house it self is spacious and will planned, allowing for great living comfort and really made us feel at home from the first day! We brought our 3 year-old to the Eskimo's ski school and they really did a great job in making him "addicted" to skiing! At the end of the week, he was able to take the village lifts by him self and ski down on the village slopes as well as! Would love to come back here next year!

Owner response: We're delighted Beren and his family had a good time and that Jungwald met their expectations. We like to make sure the details work! We're particularly pleased to hear their young son enjoyed Eskimo's as the alternate ski school in Saas Fee and that our ski-in ski-out worked well for a young novice.

Families W and P-D from Australia. We enjoyed a wonderful week with powder snow we just do not see in Australia. The views are wonderous from the balcony but it is s genuine walk-up from the village – I may even have lost some weight. Skiing was excellent and those skiers amongst us have all enjoyed the conditions. The village has mixed après-ski venues available – we tried them all, even avant-ski – and you should just follow your nose to try and determine what best suits you. The apartment is excellent and the ice hockey below the flat was excellent sport for us spectators. John W

The accommodation is outstanding with all modern facilities and fitments with sparkling bathrooms for each of the 3 bedrooms and as clean as our own home - true luxury and comfortable. It IS ski out and ski in. Local restaurants Berger's 40 metres away and Hohnegg 20 minutes walk or taxi are world class. Our January slot was sensational with lot's of powder snow, great weather and pistes uncrowded. Walking trails are excellent for the non-skiers and my adult children found the nighttime entertainment lasted longer than they may have wished for. If hiring equipment, be prepared to shop around as the range, quality and service in the village is variable from store to store but everything you will need is available and pricing is competitive. The toboggan run is testing and fun. There are some 40 kilometres of pistes and the black runs are testing as they ought to be but there are slopes to suit all ages and skills. We had a great family holiday and will return.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Owner response: We're really pleased Cyclops and his family had a good time and that Saas Fee lived up to its reputation for excellent snow. We're also delighted that our home from home lived up to his standards for quality and cleanliness. We value his comment on the quality of equipment hire in town. We have arranged a discount through the nearest rental outlet and we will test alternatives as a comparison for future guests. We look forward to welcoming Cyclops and family again.

Relaxing on the sofas, watching TV (in whatever language is your preference) with a nice drink after exercising in cold air is blissful. The rooms are all very comfortable and there is plenty of room for skis, boots and poles downstairs and outside. Despite there being six of us staying here we never felt crowded. The H family from Swindon, England We have spent two weeks in Saas Fee; the first staying at the Dom Hotel, while two of our family did a British Freestyle Ski Camp – learning to turn and jump on their skis – so we went up the glacier on most days. This week we have relaxed in this beautiful house. The views from the balcony are awesome and we have spent many hours admiring the views mostly in sunshine but occasionally in thunder and lightning! We have done lots of day trips and activities – we particularly enjoyed :- 1. The Alpine Gorge trip from Saas Fee to Saas Grund, a very exhilarating and nerve racking experience. The kids loved it – even our 7 year old 2. Day trip to Zermatt and up the Gornegrat railway 3. Day trip to the thermal baths at Brigerbad (near Brig) – a great relaxing 5 hours spent there 4. Monster scooters down from Kreuzboden (Saas Grund) 11km ride down hill with beautiful views Ritchie Harwar (Age 9) – this house is like a 5 star hotel !
